CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY EIGHT

Beverly's eyes and mouth were wide open when she saw us walk in. I was sure that she didn't expect Alex and I to walk in at the moment.

"You both are welcome," she said to us, forcing a smile. "The doctor was just telling me about the test result and that the baby is yours."

I scoffed.

Alex took a step closer to Beverly's bed, but I grabbed him and pulled him backwards.

"We heard everything you said, Beverly. Why don't you give up?" I asked her.

I knew that Beverly thought we didn't hear her conversation with the doctor. It was so unfortunate that we heard everything loud and clear, and she was caught in the act. I thought it was time for Beverly to give up now.

I wore a victorious grin on my face as I watched Beverly lying there in bed. Her brows are now squeezed in a confused look.
