The Million Dollar Golf Club was an exclusive, membership only club. My dad was a member and he used to bring me here to teach me how to play golf.

I entered the club's restaurant and saw Kevin’s mom seated at a table. She got up and hugged me.

“So happy you agreed to come.” She said. “I have missed you.”

“I have missed you too, how is Mr. Watson?”

“He is fine.”

We sat down and ordered lunch. I was tensed, waiting for her to tell me the real reason she has asked to see me.

“I asked Kevin to invite you over for lunch on Saturday,” she began. “ He said you two had broken up.”

The food I had been swallowing stuck in my throat. I nodded.

“He told me the reason. I am sorry Janet, I really am. Kevin has always been a bit reckless, but being with you really changed him. He became a lot more responsible. I really wish you guys could make it work.”

I wondered if she knew what her son had done to woman in college, that was more than a bit reckless.
