I had just finished negotiating a large deal with a foreign investor, when Brian called.

“Kev, Gina arranged to meet Jan for lunch but I am keeping her busy. You go instead and see if you can talk to her. She is at that outdoor café.”

“Thanks pal. I owe you one.”

I had a lunch date with my dad, but I canceled it. I wasn’t going to miss this opportunity.

She was looking at something on her phone when I got there. She didn’t notice me till I was sitting next to her.

“Hey,” I said.

She looked up. “ What are you doing here Kevin?” She asked frowning.

“I came to have lunch and saw you sitting here, so I decided to come over.”

“I am waiting for Gina.”

“Let me keep you company till she shows up.” I offered.

“No thanks, please go.”

“Jan please, at least let me explain.”

“I don’t want to hear it,”
