TRINITY'S POV "Hello, who's this?" A gruff male voice poured out the speaker as I tapped on the loud speaker icon and placed the phone on my thigh. The voice sounded oddly familiar but I wasn't about to conclude it was who I was looking for without asking the proper questions. "It doesn't matter who I am," I answered monotonously, making sure my voice was as clear as it was firm. "What matters is what I have for you and if you're the right person to receive this priceless information." I could almost see the look of confusion on his face. There was silence for a few seconds, before he responded in a more firmer voice than I had used. "What kind of information could you possibly have for me?" The question was laced with a hint of amusement but oddly, I wasn't upset by it but rather intrigued. Compared to Vanessa, this man was bold and smart. I knew I had to poke his balloon a little bit to get his attention. "Something that would prove to be quite useful for you, Mr Sterling."
RODRI'S POV It was undeniable that her statement had caught me completely off guard but I quickly chided myself and tried to regain my composure as I ushered her to the seat directly opposite mine. It was very strange that she had approached my office by this time of the day, it was something she had never done before. For as long as I could remember, the helpers I had hired for Vanessa had stayed away from me except when they had important things to discuss with me. Something felt odd about her countenance but instead of wasting time guessing what it could be, I decided to just up and make enquiries. "Is anything the matter, Samira?" I asked calmly, the moment she sat carefully on the chair. Her eyes were lowered and oddly shielded by her not so long lashes and it made me wonder if she was scared of something or if she was just being cautious. "Is something wrong with Vanessa or the baby?" Fear started to seep through my veins as her eyes flew upwards to meet mine in a hast
VANESSA'S POV Rays of sunlight peeked through the curtain, flashing directly on my face as my eyes involuntarily fluttered open. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the morning light as I rubbed gently on my eyes, trying to clear my vision while I carefully stretched my sore limbs. Almost as soon as I could make out most of the room, my eyes drifted to the clock on the dressing table and I almost jumped out of the bed when I realized it was almost 10am. It felt odd that I had been allowed to sleep in till this time but with how yesterday went for me, I felt Samira had intentionally given me more resting time. Thinking about Samira, I surveyed the bed in search of my phone and was surprised when I saw it on the dressing table, next to the alarm clock. I wasn't sure how it had gotten there because I was certain I had left it next to my pillow before drifting into a tired sleep. How had it then gotten to the table? My mind jolted back to the conversation I had had with
RODRI'S POV "Is there something you're not telling me, Vanessa?" I asked in a clear voice as my eyes brushed over her tired face. It was alarming to me that she was looking this tired after I had informed her helpers to let her sleep for as long as she wanted. Concern was clearly written on her face and I could see a hint of apprehension. Vanessa blinked thrice as she lowered her face before bringing her eyes back to rest on mine. "Why do you say so, Rodri?" She squeaked at me, causing me to raise an eyebrow in suspicion. Well, there was the fact that she was just waking up from sleep—her face screamed so—but there was something about her pitch, as if she had been crying. "You seem off, Nessa. Hell, you've been off since yesterday," I confessed, urging her with my eyes to confide in me. "Tell me if something is going on and we'll solve it together. I promise." I got up from the table and moved towards the bed, settling in just next to her. My hands circled around her hand as bi
VANESSA'S POV "Yes, she's expecting me, doctor. I'll like to go in and see her now." Estelle's voice floated towards me from outside the hospital room and a slow smile crept up my face. It had not even been up to thirty minutes since she called and I informed her I was at the hospital, she was here already? I heard the doctor heave a sigh of exasperation before finally agreeing to adhere to Estelle's demands. "Fine, you can go in to see her. But make sure she doesn't do anything that will stress her or the baby, alright?" The doctor warned in a firm voice and I could almost see my best friend nodding vigorously, even though she was most likely to do the opposite of what she had been asked to do. A few seconds of silence followed before a knock sounded on the door and it creaked open to reveal a very excited Estelle at the other side. "Hi, baby," she called out in an oddly calm voice—which was contrary to the look on her face—as she waltzed into the room, holding on to the bigg
TRINITY'S POV The shrilling sound of the phone ringing pierced through my subconscious, dragging me out of the wonderful dream I was having. Rodri was finally mine and we were both about to get married, a kiss would have sealed the deal if I had not been violently thrown back into the real world. "Who the fuck could that be?" I groaned loudly as my eyes fluttered open slowly. The room was blurry and my eyes hurt from the stream of light that was pooling into the room from the slightly ajar window. "Ugh!" I yelled out in exasperation as I dragged my—still—drowsy body in a seated position. It was bad enough that I had been struggling to get some sleep for the past two days and now that I had finally found some sleep after staying up most of the night, someone had decided it was alright to call by 6 in the morning. Blinking rapidly to clear my vision, I reached for my phone—on the bed stand —and swiped to unlock it with a face id. Just as I was about to check who had called, t
RODRI'S POV As the meeting progressed, my mind drifted off from the important conversation going on in front of me and towards the woman in my life. The hospital had called to inform me about her admittance there and instead of being by her side, I was stuck in a meeting I really wasn't interested in. There was no doubt that I was still upset with Vanessa over the events that had unfolded a few days ago and how she had kept important information from me. But it didn't stop me from worrying my head off over her and the baby. Michael Sterling had been ready to cause serious harm to her and our unborn child if I had not stepped in when I did. Threatening a pregnant woman was not a light matter at all but instead of hauling Michael's ass to the police station—as badly as I wanted— I had walked him into my company and handed a high paying job to him. It wasn't the craziest thing I had ever done but it was solidly at the top of the list. Who rewards someone for doing somethi
TRINITY'S POV "What do you mean he isn't there?" I almost yelled into the receiver. "Did you check his office?" This isn't happening, I thought to myself as I sucked in a huge gust of air, trying to calm myself. "Are you sure you thoroughly checked it like I told you to?" My patience was running thin and so was the woman on the other line. In a voice way louder than mine, Blossom responded, "I just said I did!" She countered, causing me to remove the phone from my ear momentarily. "He wasn't in his office when I got there, Trinity!" Her unease was resonating all over the place and I wondered if she had left the company or if she was still there. "Calm down, Blossom," I called out soothingly. "Did Gina tell you where he went?" I blurted out, asking her the first thing that came to mind. Just like her, I was struggling to make sense of the entire situation and I was very close to losing my mind. What the hell had happened to make Rodri leave the office so early? Even though I wa
Vanessa’s POVRodri walked out of the bathroom with water dripping from his head down his body and I just sat in the bed and watched him clean his body with the towel.A freaking towel touching my man’s body? Parts that should exclusively belong to me.I made a mental note of getting rid of that towel as I tiptoed to where he was standing and grabbed his nipples from behind.“Babe…” he turned to me and I immediately took one nipple with my mouth and the other with my hand.Immediately his moans filled the room as he grabbed a handful of my hair in ecstasy.I raised my head to look at his face and stole my lips with his. Kissing and sucking my tongue like his life depended on it.He ripped off my transparent nightwear and started sucking my breast.I threw my head backwards, giving him full access to my body. He pushed me till my back was against the wall then he raised one of my legs up and inserted a finger inside me.“You’re wet baby… you’re wet for me.”“Ohhh.. yes.. just for you.”
Estelle’s POV “Mo, this is not the way to the hospital.” I said as Moses drove through a very unfamiliar route. “You didn’t believe me when I said we were going to the hospital to see those kids. Did you?” I gave him a questioning glare. “Come on babe, don’t you think it’s too late to go to a hospital to look for kids you don’t even know personally?” “So…” I was still glaring at him and it somehow seemed funny to him as he laughed like he just heard the joke of the century. “I’m sorry babe but I was pulling your legs.” “I thought you wanted to go to the hospital to be sure I wasn’t lying to you.” “Why will I ever doubt you?” He placed a hand on mine while still concentrating on the road. “I will never doubt you babe. I trust you and I love you.” My glare slowly turned into a little smile with puppy eyes. “Stop it Moses. It’s so cringey.” “I can’t stop loving you so you have to manage my cringiness.” “Is there any word like that in the dictionary?” I asked, la
Rodri’s POV I didn’t believe I’d feel the way I felt when I saw Benson at the hospital looking all pale and white. It was the doctor's assurance and Vanessa’s support that helped me overcome that day and the other days that followed till he became well again. “I’m ready babe.” Vanessa’s voice dragged my strayed attention. I got up and gave her a forehead kiss as we left the bedroom together. We went to Rainn’s bedroom to see him and his grandma that was always with him. “Morning mom.” Vanessa and I chorused. Vanessa turned to me and smiled, giving me a slight tickle on my waist. “You know you are the overly ticklish one and you’re looking for trouble.” I whispered in her ear and she giggled in response. Rainn chuckled too in his cradle like he could hear what I was saying to his mother. I walked to where he was, carried him and started throwing him up. His laughter filled the room giving me a kind of satisfaction I never thought I’d ever have. I gave him a ki
Estelle’s POV After that remarkable night with Moses, I woke up to my head on his firm chest and his strong arms around my body. It was the best night of my life. Though since then I’ve been wondering what we really were and if he was feeling the same way I was feeling. I could only hope I wasn’t losing myself easily again. The sound of my phone ringing dragged back my attention. And as expected, the caller was Moses. “Hello dreamboat, how is my pookie bear doing?” Typical of Moses he’s always having new cute names for me. “Mo…” I knew I sounded exhausted, but I should have controlled it because the man I was talking to would freak out. “Why are you sounding this way? Still at work? Haven’t you closed for the day? Aren’t they…” “Calm down Mo, don’t stress about it. I’m good.” “We both know you’re not.” “Well it’s because I’m mis…” I almost told him I was missing him. I heaved a sigh We weren’t officially together so I didn’t want to seem like I was despera
Vanessa’s POV “Ms Trinity Seaman, you’re found guilty of all the charges against you, therefore, you’re hereby sentenced to ten years imprisonment with hard labor.” The judge ruled the case against her and hit the gavel on the bench. I couldn’t help but notice the look of horror on Trinity’s face when the judgment was made. I saw regrets, fear and pains written all over her. I wished I could turn back the hand of time and not go to her for an abortion. But which other way would I have met Rodri? “My baby…” was the last word I could read from her lips as the prison officers dragged her out of the courtroom. Rodri’s grip tightened on my hand and I turned to see him giving me a reassuring smile. “It’s not your fault babe. You didn’t tell her to try to poison me or drug dad and try to have his child. She doesn’t deserve your pity.” I blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall off my eyes. “What about her child?” I asked him as we walked out of the courthouse. “
Trinity’s POV The entrance of the cheap driver into the interrogation room destabilized me for a split second. I thought he already confessed to Angela and her husband what we had that night and I mentioned him out of impulse, which I was already starting to regret. I didn’t want to say that but I was at a dead end, I needed to get myself off the mess I was in. Though I still couldn’t believe the results of the DNA tests Angela threw at me proved whatever she claimed. The cheapskate driver’s hands started shaking as he tried in vain to open the door and leave. “It’s him what?” Rodri scoffed. I could see the confusion on his face mirror on his parents face. But Vanessa kinda looked indifferent, like she knew what the next thing I’d say. Ugh! I hate this bitch and how highly she thinks of herself now that she has Rodri. I hate her so much that I wish she’d just fall down and die at this moment! “If the result of the DNA test says the child is not a Darnell, which I st
Rodri’s POV We got to the hospital to meet Trinity panting like she had just finished a one thousand five hundred meter race. “You!” She pointed at Vanessa as soon as she saw her. “You betrayed me, you went ahead and fell in love with him against your own words! I will make you regret it.” “Sure you will after telling us.. no, after telling the world how you got pregnant and tried to pin the bastard on my son and husband by drugging and having sex with him.” Mom threw the result of the DNA tests she did at Trinity’s face. Trinity paused momentarily then took a deep breath. “Who.. how.. you…” She was obviously flustered by mom and how her secret got exposed. “Who told me and how did I know?” Mom fired at her. The door opened and two police officers walked in. “Miss Trinity Seaman, you are under arrest for…” “You can’t arrest me…” “I’ll advise you to remain silent for anything you say might be used against you in the court of law. “What about my son, what would becom
Rodri’s POV “I’m coming with you.” Vanessa said as she entered the bathroom after I came out. I would have stubbornly gone to see mom last night after dads call if not for the unexpected rain that showed up suddenly and Vanessa used the opportunity she had to give me a good blow job that if not for much self control, I would have fucked her silly. I saw my face turning red in the mirror. I wasn’t a baby and it wasn’t even the first time I was given a blow job and truth be told, it wasn’t the best I’d ever had but somehow I found myself blushing at the thought of it. “And why is your face red?” I didn’t need to turn to know it was Vanessa. And she was in her birthday suit. The fuck was going on in her silly mind? She didn’t even look like someone that just delivered a child, if not for the little scar on her stomach, no one would know she was ever pregnant. “You’re beautiful...” I heard myself say without my knowledge. She came to me, stole a kiss an
Estelle’s POVAfter Vanessa ran off, I laughed inwardly because I didn’t want Moses to know that I was happy being alone with him, even though I was mad at him.I knew what Vanessa did, she wanted me to settle things quickly with Moses because if this misunderstanding lingers, it could cost us a chance at a beautiful relationship I was hoping to have with him.Still, I told myself to remind myself that I was going to kill Vanessa the next time I saw her for being a traitor and a betrayer.“I like her.” He said, as he started driving again.“Why won’t you?” I rolled my eyes. “…when she’s on your side.”“Just know that I love anything and anyone you love.”I scoffed. What in the name of cheesiness?“Doesn’t matter, I won’t forgive you for lying to me.”He drove to one side of the road and pulled over. Brought out his phone from his pocket and started searching for whatever while I watched him like he was acting out a scene in a movie.“Yes! This is it!” He sounded and looked enthusiasti
