"We are going home, Isla. Get inside of the car now," he said to me. His eyes didn't even budge to look at Nika who was trying to talk to him. She is the least of his concern and it feels like I am the one that matters to him the most. I glanced at Nika who was swallowing a lump in her throat. She chose to remain silent thinking that she wouldn't be able to take it if Kairos burst out of anger at her.

With just the use of my eyes and without saying a thing. I told her that I needed to go now and she only nodded her head, telling me that she understood. Kairos shared his umbrella with me, and if we were okay and he was not mad at me. He'd be all over me now but he was distancing himself from me as if I had some sort of communicable disease that he didn't want to get from me.

I sighed deeply and tried to move closer to him but he was quick to make sure that our skin wouldn't even touch. Kairos walks me to my side and even opens the door of the shotgun seat. He waited for me to get in an
