Nicholas spent the entire morning and noon with Anne, savoring every moment they had together. As the afternoon approached, Nicholas headed to the office even though he did not wish to but the thought of being broke pulled him out of the bed. Anne went to pick up Leon from school.

“Mommy, why did you come to pick me today?” Leon asked, curiosity evident in his tone. He loved hi mommy but his dad was more fun. His dad spoiled him more than his mommy, “Where’s Dad?”

Anne smiled, teasing him gently. “You don’t like Mommy picking you up from school?”

Leon shrugged, a small smile playing on his lips. It wasn’t that he didn’t like it. It was just that his dad was usually more lenient than his mom. He was so spoiled to having his father take him out for fun that he did not like the idea of simply going home.

“Did Coco get home yet?” Anne asked softly, her voice full of concern.

“Her classes usually end earlier than mine,” Leon replied. “But I don’t know if she’s home yet.”
