Tension

After the cake-cutting ceremony, the family gathered around a table and were enjoying their meal together. Anne leaned in closer to Nicholas, her voice tense. "Why is Coco here?" she asked quietly. "I’m not supposed to be near her."

Nicholas looked at her with calmness. "Who told you that?" he replied. "The court order says you can’t have a relationship with her but it doesn’t say anything about being near her. You can have a meal like everyone else."

Anne’s worry deepened. "Nicholas, this isn’t right. What will Sabrina think?"

"Sabrina be damned," Nicholas said firmly. "I don’t care what she thinks. We’re not breaking any laws. You can’t keep avoiding Coco forever."

He did not like how his wife was so intimidated by Sabrina, the evil wench! He should not be calling her name for the fact that they were friends in past but for what she did to his family, she would never be forgiven.

Anne whispered as her voice turned shaky, "Nicholas, I can’t come in front of Coco. It’s unacceptable to
