Anne gazed out of the window from her room in the Queen’s palace, her heart heavy with both anger and helplessness. It had been three days since she had been taken from the Taylor Mansion, and seven days since her world was turned upside down by the kidnapping. They had made it clear that she would remain here until she gave birth, and after that, her newborns would be sent to Nicholas. As for Anne, she was destined to spend the rest of her life trapped in this palace, far from the people she loved.

A maid entered her room, bowing slightly. “The Queen wishes for you to join her for dinner,” she said politely. Although they were polite to her but it was a mere farce.

“I don’t feel like having food,” Anne replied coldly, her voice filled with defiance.

The maid looked at her and insisted, “Please, Miss Swift.”
