The room went silent as the shocking truth sinking in. But Vance seemed the most disturbed of all. He was shaken and his thoughts immediately turning to his wife. She had been missing for days not even returning home when they found Coco. She was not answering his calls, and Vance couldn’t ignore the uneasy feeling that she knew something about Anne’s connection to Jacob. Did Bella’s concern for Anne stem from the fact that she was Jacob’s daughter?

Vance’s mind was a storm of confusion and anger. When Nicholas married Anne, nobody knew that she was Jacob's daughter. The Hart family had never tried to disclose this fact. They all believed that Nicholas’ wife was just a daughter of a man who worked for Nikolai.

Nikolai turned to Nicholas, his voice filled with urgency. “We need to find Anne. They have taken her because she is their heir, and they are not going to let her go easily. We have to bring her back.”
