CHAPTER 4

I woke up at the sound of classical music playing from a distance. My head felt like it’s spinning and it hurt so badly. My chest felt heavy and my breathing was unsteady. I opened my eyes and saw that I’m in a hospital room. The walls and ceilings were painted with white and I could smell antiseptic.

“You’re awake…” I heard Joaquin beside me so I turned to face him.

There was an unfamiliar look in his eyes and I thought that maybe I was just imagining things because they immediately turned back to being distant and cold.

“How are you feeling?” he asked, slowly.

“Dreadful… kind off,” I smiled faintly.

Joaquin sighed and sat beside me on the bed. “You didn’t tell me you have asthma…”

I pursed my lips and looked away. “I’m sorry. I haven’t had any episodes until well… today, I guess. So, I assumed that I wouldn’t be needing medication and besides, it’s too expensive,” I said quietly.

“I took care of everything already. I paid for everything, too. You don’t have to keep your health a secret from me, Mira. I promised to give you everything you need and want, right? So I want you to trust me… about these kinds of things…” he lectured me. His voice was soft but a little bit commanding. And I understood what he meant.

I nodded, looking back at him. He was watching me.

“You need to rest for a while…” he said.

“I can go home today, right?” I asked him.

Addressing his house as home felt… natural and it’s weird. Perhaps because I wasn’t meant to stay in that place. Because I didn’t belong there and I knew well enough that I didn’t belong in a life where Joaquin was. It was out of reach.

Joaquin nodded, still watching me with his beautiful fox eyes. His gray eyes were mesmerizing to look at. “But if you want to stay here–”

“No!” I quickly answered. He was a little taken aback by my reaction. I cleared my throat and shook my head a little. “No. I don’t want to stay here. I wanna go home…” I said, almost whispering.

“Alright…” said Joaquin as he slowly leaned towards me, reaching for my cheek. He kissed it softly.

It was afternoon when we arrived at home. Joaquin canceled all his plans and business meetings to take care of me. I told him he didn’t have to do that and that I could have gone home by myself with his butler but he insisted on taking care of me himself.

I didn’t want that. I wanted him to continue his work… his life regardless of what happened to me. I didn’t want him to stop the flow of his life just because something happened to me. I wasn’t important in any way. I was just his contracted wife he married so we both could use each other for our own benefits. And him… taking care of me, wasn’t something I needed. Or at least that’s what I’ve been reminding myself so I wouldn’t get used to it.

“Are you hungry? I can cook for us if you want. Early dinner,” he said as soon as we entered his house.

He helped me remove my coat and hung it on the pole along with his. I watched him do that until he looked at me again, expecting an answer from me.

“I can cook…” I volunteered.

Joaquin sighed. “I appreciate your enthusiasm to do things on your own, but you had an attack this morning. You need to rest. And I know it’s partly my fault given how I exhausted you last night…” My cheeks instantly turned hot upon hearing the last part of what he said.

He smirked at me when he saw my reaction.

“It wasn’t because of that!” I told him, but he just chuckled in response. “Seriously!”

“Fine, fine. But I’ll cook for us. You stay put,” he ordered as he pulled me to the dining room and made me sit on the chair.

Joaquin started cooking. It was an unfamiliar dish but it smelled so good. My stomach growled when he finished and he prepared our food on the dining table. I didn’t know what dish it was but it didn’t need rice.

I wasn’t used to that kind of food but it tasted really good. I enjoyed it and when we finished eating, I was so full I didn’t want to move at all. And it seemed that Joaquin noticed it because after he finished washing the dishes. He walked to me and lifted me up. I almost shrieked but he quickly kept me in place in his arms. He carried me all the way to the living room then he sat down on the sofa with me on his lap.

“Joaquin…” I called him but he hugged while keeping me in place.

I groaned when he started planting soft and feathery kisses on my nape.

“You fit in my arms. This is nice…” he whispered while he continued showering my nape and neck with kisses. It tickled me and I couldn’t stay still because of the sensation I was starting to feel. His dick slowly moved and hit my side and I knew he’s turned on.

He sighed and he pulled my chin right up to his face and kissed me on my lips. Then he buried his face against the arch of my neck, keeping me close while inhaling my scent.

“You like the shower gel I bought for you?” he asked and I nodded in response. “Good. I knew the smell would suit you. My sweet vanilla girl,” he whispered and I felt him smiling against the delicate of my skin.

We stayed like that for a while. Me sitting on his lap while he comfortably sat on the sofa, hugging me from the side. My heart couldn’t calm down, though. It was like a bomb that kept on exploding every chance it got. I wanted it to feel weird but I didn’t feel like that at all.

Months after I fully recovered, Joaquin told me that he would hold a party for me and for our marriage. I was nervous. But I knew that it was only a matter of time when Joaquin finally decided to do that. Though it was still so sudden for me.

He wanted everyone to know who he married, despite the news that broke around the country that he married the prostitute he was fucking in his penthouse room months and months ago. People hated me for it, I knew.

“I asked my team to prepare the party for us. I also informed my personal designer to customize a pairing attire for both of us,” he said as I was on my knees, busy pleasuring him, licking his massive member.

“Mhmm,” I hummed as I put his dick inside my mouth, careful not to let my teeth touch his shaft.

He caressed my hair and grouped them in his fist then moved them to my side. I looked up at him and saw that he was watching me pleasure him. He licked his lips while lust filled his eyes. He held my head and pushed it, his dick reaching my throat. I choked a little, my saliva covering his massive dick.

“Just like that…” Joaquin groaned as I continued blowjobbing him. He liked it, and I was happy that he enjoyed it.

I felt his member throbbed inside my mouth, pleasure building up inside him. He removed his dick inside my mouth and pulled me up, cupping my face then kissing me torridly. I was moaning against his lips. He lifted me up and made me sit on his lap while his thick member hit my entrance, making me moan louder.

“I shouldn’t tire you out, but I can’t seem to control myself especially not when you’re making such a beautiful expression before my eyes…” he whispered before attacking me with fiery kisses.

He quickly entered me and immediately started thrusting in and out of me. It was slow at first but when I could no longer hold my voice and my moans started getting louder, Joaquin wrecked me repeatedly as he thrusted faster and faster until I could no longer move my hips to match his rhythm.

I was breathing heavily, pleasure gushing out of me.

I watched Joaquin’s back as he talked to the woman who designed our attires for the party tomorrow. “I made the gown for your… uh…” The woman named Lauren couldn’t finish her sentence as she tried to take a peek at me but… “Wife…” Joaquin casually finished the sentence. Lauren chuckled awkwardly. “Yes, uhm… the gown is fully ready. I made sure that the size and measurements were accurate. Your suit is done as well. You can try them on now…” She ushered us to where the fitting room is and I could feel her glaring at me from behind. When we reached the fitting room, Lauren tried to push me inside of one of the cubicles but Joaquin pulled me to him. “I’ll help your… wife… get dressed,
