Alexia's POV.
It has been two days now since I moved to this new apartment of mine and I have spent the whole forty eight hours doing nothing but writing. It happens like that, there are times that when I pick up laptop and start writing it gets really hard for me to put it down and I end up getting holed up in the book. My Mum used to bring my food to my room for me whenever that happens but my mum is not here and that is why I have fed on nothing but cookies and coffee and maybe a little cake here and there for the past two days.I haven't been sleeping well too and I put all the blame on that damn coffee. The coffee made me so restless that it was impossible to sleep but I had to keep taking it because well... I had to.I stood up from the chair and stretched my stiff body, I could even hear the sounds of bones cracking. My butt aches from sitting on that chair for well... a long time.I went to the bathroom and freshened up a bit. I grabbed a hair tie and tied my hair in ponytail and I sprinkled some water on my face and dried it with a towel.I haven't heard from Liam since he left me for his date with that girl, Akeira. This is the first time we have gone days without talking to one another and the thought crossed my mind that maybe he was really serious about this one girl, so serious that he forgot I even existed. You could always call him.But I don't want to come off as clingy and desperate.Since when did our relationship get to this? I have never thought twice about calling him.God, I need to keep my feeling on a leash.I grabbed my car keys and credit card and I unplugged my phone from the socket. I had to go and get groceries or else I will keep living on cake and cookies.I locked the door to the apartment and started walking down. I couldn't help but stop in front of that hit guy's apartment. I suddenly felt the urge to knock...Knock and do what?Okay, maybe that is not a good idea.I shook my head lightly to clear my thoughts and walked briskly to my car.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is why I hate going for groceries shopping. I tend to buy stuffs that I had no plan on buying, this is why I stopped making lists of groceries before heading out to the store. I always end up discarding the list.I pushed the cart towards the store attendant and I had to wait in line for my turn. After paying for the groceries, I managed to carry the bags to my car. It was so heavy that it weighed me down. That is what you get for buying stuffs you don't need yet.I entered the car and drove back to the apartment, thankfully there was no traffic jam.I packed my car in my spot and alighted. I grabbed my car key and phone and stuffed it in my pockets. I reached for the shopping bags and lifted it out of the car. Shit weighs a ton, I wonder what I bought that made it so heavy. I dropped one bag and pressed the car button to lock my car before lifting the second bag again. My shoulders were hurting like a bitch due to the weight."You need help with that?" A very familiar voice called from behind me. I jumped a little and turned to glare at him."You..." the words got stuck in my throat at the sight of him.Damn! He is a sight for a sore eyes... He was dressed in a gray suit that seemed a tad bit smaller than him or maybe it was just because he filled it so well. I could see the outline of his biceps through his jacket. His tie seemed a little askew,he must have been pulling at it."Are you always like this?" He asked all of a sudden."Like what?"His lips lifted in an amused smile and that sight of that smile did something funny to my insides. What the fuck is going on with you?"I know I am really attractive and all but can you just stop ogling me already." He said mockingly.I bursted into laughter at that "Aren't you full of yourself?"He shrugged and just waited for me to sober up."You need help with those bags?" He asked me again."I don't want to be a bother." I tried to be modest about it when In fact my shoulders were killing me."It is no bother. You stay right next door so I might as well help you out." He said before taking the bags from me.I could have sworn I heard my shoulders sigh in relief.'Cookies guy' carried the bags like it doesn't weigh anything at all. It almost looked like he didn't have to put too much effort into it.Have you not seen the guy? Obviously he works out well.I walked behind him like a puppy following its master but my eyes were practically glued on his ass. He has a really fine bum for a guy. When he stopped walking , I stopped too.He turned to face me and pinned me with those eyes of his."You know you have to open the door right?" He asked and I turned a beet reed when I realized that he caught me staring at his bum.Gosh, he must think that I am some creep. I averted my gaze and walked to the door with my head down.I put the key in the door and opened it and I moved aside for him to come in."Just drop it right here. I can handle it form here."I told him."Okay."He said before dropping the bag in the living room and he stood there just staring at me awkwardly. It felt like he had something to say but maybe he doesn't know how to say it. But I really doubt it. I mean he looks like someone that is pretty confident and well...rich."Ummm... Thank you very much...umm" I stopped when I realized I didn't even know his name."Nathaniel Carter." He provides with a smile.Even his name is hot. The name sounds pretty familiar though. I am pretty sure I have heard that name somewhere before."Well thanks for the help Nathaniel. I appreciate it." I said."You are welcome." He said hesitantly and he started scratching the back of his head.I couldn't help but smile at how amusing the scene was. He looked really nervous all of a sudden."Umm... bye." He said and turned to leave. He stopped again by the door and turned to face me."Just say whatever it is that you want to say. I don't bite." I said.He scratched the back of his neck again."Umm.... Do you still have those cookies?"Alexia's POV.I couldn't help but laugh after Nathaniel left my apartment to freshen up. Nervous definitely looks good on him.I told him I will bring some cookies over for him. I picked some cookies and put them in a tray, I made a mental note to collect my trays back from him. I went over to his apartment and knocked on the door."The door is opened." He called out. I opened the door and walked in. His apartment was totally different from mine. The walls of the living room was painted with something similar to off white color...or maybe it is grey. A chandelier hung in the middle of the room. The living room looked expensive, the furnitures here looked like they would cost a fortune. I looked around and spotted the biggest television I have ever seen. How the fuck is a television this big?The television is one hundred times bigger and better that the little shit I have in my living room. The living room was practic
Nathaniel's POV.I watched her face closely and I could see the indecision in her eyes but that soon changed and she just nodded in reply. I really don't know why I offered to help with her love life, I don't even have any plans on how to help her. I don't know how I am going to make her silly ass best friend fall in love with her. I have never seen or met the boy before but I already despise him.I don't know why I was being nice to her, I mean I even told her about how lonely my mansion can get. I have never admitted that to anyone apart from my little sister, Natalia and I just told Alexia about it without even thinking twice. But I must admit that she seemed really cool and there was something about her that just seem to draw me in. Maybe because she will soon become my source of entertainment. The thought of helping with her love life is so exciting, at least it sounds exciting to me. Maybe because I haven't had much fun in the past years. My friends and I idea of fun is to go t
Alexia's POV.I was still in shock. I mean what the hell just happened here. Nathaniel just called himself my boyfriend and that right in front of Liam and the funniest part of all this was that I didn't deny it. I will blame my lack of denial on shock. I mean everything happened so fast and that I didn't even realize what was happening.Hell, I was still having a hard time understanding what happened. "Care to explain what just happened here, Alexia?" Liam asked. I could practically see the smoke coming out of his head.I tried to open my mouth to speak but my mouth was suddenly too heavy to move. How do I explain to the love of my life that I was only in this ruse with Nathaniel because of him? "Uhhmm...Liam...well... I don't know where to start from." I finally managed to speak. "How did you guys meet?" He asked. Oh no...this is bad. Everything happened so fast that I and Nathaniel didn't even think of
Alexia's POV.I let out a yawn and stood up from my chair and stretched a bit. I quickly checked the time for the hundredth time today. It was already 7:30 pm and Nathaniel wasn't back yet. Yes, I have been waiting patiently for him to get back. I got tired of waiting so I started on my next chapter. Now, I am done with that and still nothing. He isn't back. My stomach lets out a loud groan reminding me just how hungry I was. I headed straight to the kitchen and decided on making spaghetti and chicken sauce. I grabbed all of the ingredients needed and placed them on the counter and then I started cooking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thirty minutes later dinner was ready. I unconsciously made enough food for two. Maybe because I have been waiting for Nathaniel for the past hour or...I don't know. I just ended up making dinner for him. I walked over to the living room window and pulled the curtain to check if Nathaniel's car is parked outside
Alexia's POV.The past few days were a blur. I couldn't tell each day apart. I slept, ate, and did virtually everything in my living room. I barely even had time to take a shower for the past three days. Now, don't judge me okay. It only happens once in a while. There are times that I just get so into the book that I was working on that I end up sitting in front of my laptop for the days. The longest I have gone is a week and yes, I didn't take a single shower all through. The misconception most people have about this occupation is that it is easy. I mean you just have to sit down with your laptop and write fake scenarios. But that is not all writing is about...it takes a lot to be a writer, you have to have the zeal and passion for it. You have to have a very sharp mind and vivid imagination and to a certain point, you must be talented. You need to know how to use your words, what to write to draw people to the book, you have to build emotions too. It is not just about writing fake
Alexia's POV."What about this?" I asked. I have tried on a total of ten dresses in thirty minutes and Nathaniel's and Lara's reply hasn't changed since. More like, Lara disagrees and forces Nathaniel to agree with her."Nahhh, that won't do," Lara commented. I threw my hands up in surrender. "I am done here. What exactly will do? This is the tenth dress already. I am going for a date, not a gala." I exclaimed and I think I heard Nathaniel chuckle but I wasn't too sure cause he covered his face with the magazine he was reading. "We are trying to make Liam realize his feelings for you, baby girl. You have to look hot, like so hot that he gets tongue-tied and stutters." Lara said. Yes, she is in on the whole thing too. I had to tell her cause she had the misconception that they were something going on between me and Nathaniel. Apparently, he has never booked an appointment for any girl before apart from his little sister and she i
Alexia's POV."You know you don't have to be nervous right?" Nathaniel asked. "I am not."I was, nervous I mean, very nervous might I add and you can tell just how nervous I was from the way I couldn't stop wringing my hands. "Yeah right." He answered with a laugh and I scoffed. He removed his hand from the steering wheel and took mine in his and squeezed it. "Just remember that I am right here and all you have to do is to tell me if you can't take it anymore and we will leave immediately." He said. "I know," I said smiling up at him even though he wasn't looking at me again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"This is it," Nathaniel announced when we finally got to the restaurant that Liam had reserved. "I don't think I can do this," I whispered but he heard me anyway. He moved around in his seat until he was facing me then I felt his fingers on my jaw forcing me to meet his eyes."Come on no
Nathaniel's pov. It has been a week since the double date with Liam and his girlfriend and honestly, I think there is something there. Liam definitely has other feelings for Alexia, I am not just sure what his feelings were. It could be a crush or maybe something deeper. The way he looked at her when he noticed her in the restaurant still replays in my head every hour like a broken CD. No man would look at a woman like that unless likes her. And let us not forget the fact that he was jealous when Alexia asked me to order for her. He didn't even ask his girlfriend what she wanted. Maybe I was just reading too much into it. I mean they have been best friends since like forever and it might just be an uncontrollable habit to always ask her what she wanted to order. He did ask her if she wanted the usual... I don't know why the way he looked at her is bothering me but it is bothering me I mean and that is just crazy cause this is the point of the whole fake relationship

Alexia's POV. Three months later..."Is it done?" I asked Lara. I have lost count of the number of times I have asked her that question today. I was just nervous and excited and very eager to tell Nathaniel about the surprise. I am pregnant. Two months pregnant now. We haven't talked about kids but I am sure he wants one. Besides, we have not been careful at all so I know for sure that he will be excited to know that I am pregnant. It was supposed to be a simple dinner date with Nathaniel and I didn't plan on applying much makeup or even dressing up much but Lara showed up at our apartment— yes, I finally moved into Nathaniel's apartment, it was long overdue if you asked me— and had other ideas. She came with two different dresses, all brand new, and a new pair of heels and she insisted on doing my hair and makeup. We have been at it for hours now. "All you need to do is ask me that question one more and I will knock your head so hard that you won't be able to go for that date anym
Nathaniel's POV.My memories came back to me like I was in a cinema. It was like hitting the play button on a movie that was placed on pause before. I could relate to every single page I turned and everything came back to me. The first time we met. When she knocked on my door and I turned away thinking she was a cookie seller. When I went back to her apartment to ask for more cookies. When she told me about her unrequited love for her best friend, Liam, and when I offered to be her pretend boyfriend to help her gain Liam's attention. I remember every single thing. Everything that happened with Cynthia when we were still young. I remember hating her beyond belief and that had me wondering why on earth I thought she was still my girlfriend? How could I forget about everything she did and remember her as my girlfriend and forget my real girlfriend in the process?I wanted to go to Alexia right away but I held myself back because I was scared and unsure of what to tell her. How will even
Alexia's POV. "I told you it was hopeless. He obviously doesn't remember." I said throwing my hands up. Lara was with me in my apartment. Keeping me company so I won't lose my mind, according to Natalia. "You have to calm down. It is not even nighttime yet." Lara said. "He might not have opened the package or even read the book. I am sure he will remember when he reads it." Natalia said from the phone. We were on FaceTime. I have been calm the entire day, not entirely calm but I haven't been bouncing my legs so that is something. "I told his assistant to make sure that he opens the package himself," I told them. "And he will do just that. Do you want me to call him and try to see if he opened it yet?" Natalia asked. I shook my head. "No, don't do that," I said. "So you need to calm down. Watch a movie or something. Maybe eat cookies, do you have any at home?" She asked and I shook my head. I went through hell trying to edit and complete that book in just two days. Brenda was o
Nathaniel's POV. Out of sight, out of mind. Like hell. It has been two days and I swear I still see her everywhere. Her smell follows me everywhere I go and I keep thinking about that kiss. Her taste taunts me every time I try to go to bed. I knew I made a mistake the moment I lashed out at Alexia. I knew I shouldn't have said all those things I said to her like that. I was so confused and disorientated and I didn't know what to think so I lashed out and she was the only one there to face my wrath. I shouldn't have kissed her, I know that but I don't regret doing it anyway. That was by far the best kiss of my entire life and I went ahead and messed it up by lashing out and saying those hurtful things to her. I can never forget the look on her face when I literally asked her to leave. She stayed true to her word and left the mansion before dawn could break properly. I heard her shuffling around in her room and I even watched her leave. I wanted to run to her and apologize for what I
Alexia's POV."I am so sorry, Alex." Lara apologized for what seemed like the hundredth time today. "One more time. Just say that word one more time and I will throw you out of this house myself and I mean it, Lara." I said. She has been apologizing nonstop for leaving me alone at the club last night. She said she saw me dancing with the guy on the dance floor and I looked like I was having fun so she didn't bother to interrupt me but then I was no longer there the next time she looked and by the time she went to the restroom to look for me I was already gone. Noah later received a text from Nathaniel who explained what happened to them. She chuckled. "When will you be going back to the mansion? I can drop you off on my way home." She said. "I won't be going back." I moved out of Nathaniel's house very early this morning. I started packing up immediately I left him by the pool. There wasn't much to pack so it didn't take much time and I was done before I knew it. I wasn't sure if
Alexia’s POV. The relief on seeing Nathaniel was instant. His eyes met mine for a brief second before he took in the guy that still had me pinned against the bathroom wall. He grabbed him by his shirt and threw him off me. My legs turned to jelly the moment the guy was off me and I ended up slipping against the wall my breast still exposed. Nathaniel made quick work of removing his shirt and helped me to put it on. The shirt was really big on me and it covered up my now ruined two-piece easily. “Are you okay?” He asked cupping my face and all I could do was nod. “What the hell man?” The guy from the dance floor said when he regained his footing. “What did you think you were doing?” Nathaniel asked him facing him. His body was wound tight and I could see smoke coming out of his head, literally. “We were going to have fun not that I need to tell you that.” The guy said with a disgusting smirk and I felt myself shudder in disgust. “She didn’t want you to touch her. I heard her scr
Alexia's POV. It has been one week. A week since the kitchen scene. A week since Nathaniel left me sitting in the kitchen making me wonder what the fuck I did or said wrong. Everything was going alright. I couldn't sleep and I left my room to check if there was something I could munch on but I ended up spilling what was left of the cereal when Nathaniel entered the kitchen suddenly. Then he made noodles and was helping me separate the yolk from the white part and I asked him how he remembered that. He was going to tell me. He started talking and then he shut up all of sudden and left the kitchen like his dick was on fire. He has been avoiding me since that day. He doesn't stay in the same room as me even if everyone is there, he always finds an excuse to leave, it also helps that he has started going to work again. Anytime I try to talk to him he pretends as if he didn't hear me or even see me. He doesn't even spare me a glance at all and at this rate, I was willing to take his scow
Nathaniel's POV. I was jealous. I hate to admit it but I was jealous of her faceless boyfriend called Liam— even his name sounds lame. I have no right whatsoever to be jealous of him and I know that, I know it too well but I couldn't help the jealousy I felt when she was talking to him over the phone. The conversation started out stiff at first but they eased into the conversation real fast and she had this bright smile on her face, her eyes were even twinkling and the fact that this Liam guy was the one that put that look there didn't sit well with me. I know I should not be feeling like this about another woman when I have a girlfriend of my own but Alexia just...she confuses me and there is the fact that I keep getting flashes of memories that involves her. The whole thing is messing with my head and emotions and I was starting to feel guilty towards Cynthia. That was why I switched up on Alex earlier in the restaurant—guilt. I felt guilty that I was enjoying another woman's comp
