Alexia's POV.
I couldn't help but laugh after Nathaniel left my apartment to freshen up. Nervous definitely looks good on him.I told him I will bring some cookies over for him. I picked some cookies and put them in a tray, I made a mental note to collect my trays back from him. I went over to his apartment and knocked on the door."The door is opened." He called out.I opened the door and walked in. His apartment was totally different from mine. The walls of the living room was painted with something similar to off white color...or maybe it is grey. A chandelier hung in the middle of the room. The living room looked expensive, the furnitures here looked like they would cost a fortune.I looked around and spotted the biggest television I have ever seen. How the fuck is a television this big?The television is one hundred times bigger and better that the little shit I have in my living room. The living room was practically empty apart from all the expensive stuffs there. No pictures... no arts... nothing."Hey, let me take that." Nathaniel said appearing from no where. He has changed out of his suit and into a white tee shirt with a tight black shorts. The short was practically hugging his bum.Yes, I was busy staring at his bum again. He took the tray from me and headed for the kitchen. I wasn't sure whether to stay there in the living room or tag alone. I later followed him to the kitchen.I let out an audible gasp at the sight of the kitchen. The kitchen is what I would call every woman's dream. It was fucking big and spacious and clean and it practically had all the kitchen appliances you could ever dream of. The cooker looked like one of those coolers that I saw while flipping through a magazine.Shit is expensive as fuck."You want anything to drink?" He asked me."Umm...water is good." I said."How is your apartment so big?" I asked him. He poured me a glass of water and passed it over to me.I wrapped my hands around the glass and held on to it."Is it big?" He asked and shoved one cookies in his mouth."Are you seriously asking me that? Have you seen my place? This place is fucking big." I exclaimed. He shrugged lightly "I guess it is big then."He guess?"Who exactly are you Nathaniel?" I asked him.I mean, not just anybody can afford this kind of luxury.Maybe he is into drugs? Or human trafficking?I shuddered at the thought and I had goosebumps immediately."I don't do drugs and I definitely don't sell human." He said and I staggered a little. How does he know what I was thinking?"Wh..what?"I stammered."Oh come on. I know that look well...you looked like you were ready to bolt." He said."Ohh... so you don't do drugs and you are not a trafficker. So? What do you do?" I asked him again."I am car dealer. I sell and design cars." He said."And?""And? That is all I do Alexia." He said."Ohh come on, how much could you possibly make from selling cars?" I asked."A lot more than you can ever imagine..." he paused and then he shoved another cookies in his mouth and took a gulp of whatever it was that was in his glass."And I own Carter Automobiles." He added nonchalantly.I choked on my water and started coughing. He stood up immediately and started patting my back."Calm down and breath. Please don't die on me." He joked. My face turned red in embarrassment. I just had to choke on my water in front of him."You good now?" He asked and I nodded in reply."Good. For a minute there I thought you were going to choke to death." He joked.I rolled my eyes "You don't just say things like that without a warning.""What was I supposed to say? Hey Alexia, brace yourself I am about to tell you something... it doesn't make any sense to me." He said sarcastically.Okay, maybe he is right."How did I not recognize you? Your face is all over the magazines and..." I trailed off.Carter Automobiles is a well know car dealer in New York City. His designs are always top notch and well too expensive for people like myself to purchase. The last car he designed was a bomb. The media went crazy over it and well let us just say he and his car design was the hot topic in the whole of New York for like a month. His face was everywhere then, every tv station wanted an interview with him and well the ladies went crazy over him, it didn't help that he is extremely hot and handsome and filthy rich.He is a motherfucking billionaire and one of the most eligible bachelor in New York."I wondered the same thing too... I thought it was some reporter knocking on my door last night but then I opened the door and well you were there...""... and you thought I was some cookies seller." I interrupted. He smiled sheepishly "Sorry about that but what was I supposed to think. You were holding two trays full of cookies so I just thought..." he trailed off"Yeah, I get it. So you are a billionaire huh?""Am I supposed to answer that?" He asked."Fair enough. Why are you staying here? I mean are you not supposed to be living in some mansion or penthouse or? You get what I am trying to say." I asked him.He shrugged again "I jut decided to take a break from that house of mine. It is always silent and well lonely." He said."Don't you have friends? Neighbors?" I asked."I do have friends but they have got better things to do than to entertain they lonely friend and well my neighbors are stuck up billionaires. We only talk to each other when they want to throw party and vice versa." He said."Ouch, that sucks. What about your family? Don't you have younger ones or well elder sister and brother?" I asked."I do have a little sister. She is just sixteen and my she stays with my parent in Paris." He said."Then why are you here and not with your family?" I asked him.He opened his mouth to answer me and then he shut it again and sent me an accusing look."What is going on here? Are you a reporter or something?" He asked."No, I am not. I am a writer." I said and he shot me a look that clearly read 'what is the difference?'"Not like that, I don't write for magazines and newspapers or anything. I write novels, fictions, romance novels." I added. He seemed to relax a bit at that and he smiled hesitantly."So? What about you? Any boyfriend?" He asked.I blushed and shook my head "No.""Really?" He asked. He actually looked surprised at my answer."Yeah." I answered.I have never had a boyfriend before. Not that I haven't been asked out, a lot of boys have actually asked me out on a date but I always turn them down because I couldn't imagine going on a date with someone else knowing fully well that I am in love with someone else, Liam.Speaking of Liam, I made a mental note to call him before going to bed."I know that look... are you in love with someone else?" He asked.Hell, am I that obvious?"How do you know that?" I asked him."Simple, you went starry-eyed for a minute there." He said."Ohh.." I breathed."Well, who is he?" He asked."My best friend, Liam." I said and I could feel a blush starting to rise."Wait a second. You are in love with your best friend?" He asked and I nodded in reply."And let me guess, he doesn't know about your feelings for him." He stated and I nodded again."Why don't you just tell him?" He asked."It is not that easy...he doesn't feel the same way about me, he sees me as a friend and a sister and besides... I think he has a girlfriend now." I said."That sucks." He said and the apartment went silent for like five minutes.I stood up and was ready to take my leave when he spoke up again."I could help you win him over." He said."Sorry what?" I asked."I can help you win your best friend over that is if you want me to." He said."How will you do that?" I asked him."You just rest your pretty little head and leave it all to me." He said."I didn't agree to anything." I said.He laughed "But you will, I know you will." He said.I kept quiet at that because he was right. At this rate I will do anything to win Liam's love.Anything.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Nathaniel's POV.I watched her face closely and I could see the indecision in her eyes but that soon changed and she just nodded in reply. I really don't know why I offered to help with her love life, I don't even have any plans on how to help her. I don't know how I am going to make her silly ass best friend fall in love with her. I have never seen or met the boy before but I already despise him.I don't know why I was being nice to her, I mean I even told her about how lonely my mansion can get. I have never admitted that to anyone apart from my little sister, Natalia and I just told Alexia about it without even thinking twice. But I must admit that she seemed really cool and there was something about her that just seem to draw me in. Maybe because she will soon become my source of entertainment. The thought of helping with her love life is so exciting, at least it sounds exciting to me. Maybe because I haven't had much fun in the past years. My friends and I idea of fun is to go t
Alexia's POV.I was still in shock. I mean what the hell just happened here. Nathaniel just called himself my boyfriend and that right in front of Liam and the funniest part of all this was that I didn't deny it. I will blame my lack of denial on shock. I mean everything happened so fast and that I didn't even realize what was happening.Hell, I was still having a hard time understanding what happened. "Care to explain what just happened here, Alexia?" Liam asked. I could practically see the smoke coming out of his head.I tried to open my mouth to speak but my mouth was suddenly too heavy to move. How do I explain to the love of my life that I was only in this ruse with Nathaniel because of him? "Uhhmm...Liam...well... I don't know where to start from." I finally managed to speak. "How did you guys meet?" He asked. Oh no...this is bad. Everything happened so fast that I and Nathaniel didn't even think of
Alexia's POV.I let out a yawn and stood up from my chair and stretched a bit. I quickly checked the time for the hundredth time today. It was already 7:30 pm and Nathaniel wasn't back yet. Yes, I have been waiting patiently for him to get back. I got tired of waiting so I started on my next chapter. Now, I am done with that and still nothing. He isn't back. My stomach lets out a loud groan reminding me just how hungry I was. I headed straight to the kitchen and decided on making spaghetti and chicken sauce. I grabbed all of the ingredients needed and placed them on the counter and then I started cooking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thirty minutes later dinner was ready. I unconsciously made enough food for two. Maybe because I have been waiting for Nathaniel for the past hour or...I don't know. I just ended up making dinner for him. I walked over to the living room window and pulled the curtain to check if Nathaniel's car is parked outside
Alexia's POV.The past few days were a blur. I couldn't tell each day apart. I slept, ate, and did virtually everything in my living room. I barely even had time to take a shower for the past three days. Now, don't judge me okay. It only happens once in a while. There are times that I just get so into the book that I was working on that I end up sitting in front of my laptop for the days. The longest I have gone is a week and yes, I didn't take a single shower all through. The misconception most people have about this occupation is that it is easy. I mean you just have to sit down with your laptop and write fake scenarios. But that is not all writing is about...it takes a lot to be a writer, you have to have the zeal and passion for it. You have to have a very sharp mind and vivid imagination and to a certain point, you must be talented. You need to know how to use your words, what to write to draw people to the book, you have to build emotions too. It is not just about writing fake
Alexia's POV."What about this?" I asked. I have tried on a total of ten dresses in thirty minutes and Nathaniel's and Lara's reply hasn't changed since. More like, Lara disagrees and forces Nathaniel to agree with her."Nahhh, that won't do," Lara commented. I threw my hands up in surrender. "I am done here. What exactly will do? This is the tenth dress already. I am going for a date, not a gala." I exclaimed and I think I heard Nathaniel chuckle but I wasn't too sure cause he covered his face with the magazine he was reading. "We are trying to make Liam realize his feelings for you, baby girl. You have to look hot, like so hot that he gets tongue-tied and stutters." Lara said. Yes, she is in on the whole thing too. I had to tell her cause she had the misconception that they were something going on between me and Nathaniel. Apparently, he has never booked an appointment for any girl before apart from his little sister and she i
Alexia's POV."You know you don't have to be nervous right?" Nathaniel asked. "I am not."I was, nervous I mean, very nervous might I add and you can tell just how nervous I was from the way I couldn't stop wringing my hands. "Yeah right." He answered with a laugh and I scoffed. He removed his hand from the steering wheel and took mine in his and squeezed it. "Just remember that I am right here and all you have to do is to tell me if you can't take it anymore and we will leave immediately." He said. "I know," I said smiling up at him even though he wasn't looking at me again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"This is it," Nathaniel announced when we finally got to the restaurant that Liam had reserved. "I don't think I can do this," I whispered but he heard me anyway. He moved around in his seat until he was facing me then I felt his fingers on my jaw forcing me to meet his eyes."Come on no
Nathaniel's pov. It has been a week since the double date with Liam and his girlfriend and honestly, I think there is something there. Liam definitely has other feelings for Alexia, I am not just sure what his feelings were. It could be a crush or maybe something deeper. The way he looked at her when he noticed her in the restaurant still replays in my head every hour like a broken CD. No man would look at a woman like that unless likes her. And let us not forget the fact that he was jealous when Alexia asked me to order for her. He didn't even ask his girlfriend what she wanted. Maybe I was just reading too much into it. I mean they have been best friends since like forever and it might just be an uncontrollable habit to always ask her what she wanted to order. He did ask her if she wanted the usual... I don't know why the way he looked at her is bothering me but it is bothering me I mean and that is just crazy cause this is the point of the whole fake relationship
Alexia's POV. "Tada!" I have been home all day doing nothing, scratch that, I wouldn't call outlining anything. I have been busy writing an outline for my story even though I was a hundred percent sure I will end up diverting from what I have outlined. It still felt good to have an outline though. Makes me feel more organized than I am. "What are you doing here?" I asked. He placed his hand on his chest as if he was hurt. "You wound me, Lexi. Are you saying you are not happy to see your boyfriend?" He asked and I chuckled moving out of his way so he can come in. Something weird always happens to me inside whenever he calls me that."Fake boyfriend, Nathaniel." I corrected. "Same thing." He said dryly. I was supposed to tell him it wasn't the same thing but I was more interested in what he had in his hand. "What is in there?" I asked jutting my chin out. "This...it is...Uhm...dinner." He said. "Really? What did you get?" I asked but didn't w

Alexia's POV. Three months later..."Is it done?" I asked Lara. I have lost count of the number of times I have asked her that question today. I was just nervous and excited and very eager to tell Nathaniel about the surprise. I am pregnant. Two months pregnant now. We haven't talked about kids but I am sure he wants one. Besides, we have not been careful at all so I know for sure that he will be excited to know that I am pregnant. It was supposed to be a simple dinner date with Nathaniel and I didn't plan on applying much makeup or even dressing up much but Lara showed up at our apartment— yes, I finally moved into Nathaniel's apartment, it was long overdue if you asked me— and had other ideas. She came with two different dresses, all brand new, and a new pair of heels and she insisted on doing my hair and makeup. We have been at it for hours now. "All you need to do is ask me that question one more and I will knock your head so hard that you won't be able to go for that date anym
Nathaniel's POV.My memories came back to me like I was in a cinema. It was like hitting the play button on a movie that was placed on pause before. I could relate to every single page I turned and everything came back to me. The first time we met. When she knocked on my door and I turned away thinking she was a cookie seller. When I went back to her apartment to ask for more cookies. When she told me about her unrequited love for her best friend, Liam, and when I offered to be her pretend boyfriend to help her gain Liam's attention. I remember every single thing. Everything that happened with Cynthia when we were still young. I remember hating her beyond belief and that had me wondering why on earth I thought she was still my girlfriend? How could I forget about everything she did and remember her as my girlfriend and forget my real girlfriend in the process?I wanted to go to Alexia right away but I held myself back because I was scared and unsure of what to tell her. How will even
Alexia's POV. "I told you it was hopeless. He obviously doesn't remember." I said throwing my hands up. Lara was with me in my apartment. Keeping me company so I won't lose my mind, according to Natalia. "You have to calm down. It is not even nighttime yet." Lara said. "He might not have opened the package or even read the book. I am sure he will remember when he reads it." Natalia said from the phone. We were on FaceTime. I have been calm the entire day, not entirely calm but I haven't been bouncing my legs so that is something. "I told his assistant to make sure that he opens the package himself," I told them. "And he will do just that. Do you want me to call him and try to see if he opened it yet?" Natalia asked. I shook my head. "No, don't do that," I said. "So you need to calm down. Watch a movie or something. Maybe eat cookies, do you have any at home?" She asked and I shook my head. I went through hell trying to edit and complete that book in just two days. Brenda was o
Nathaniel's POV. Out of sight, out of mind. Like hell. It has been two days and I swear I still see her everywhere. Her smell follows me everywhere I go and I keep thinking about that kiss. Her taste taunts me every time I try to go to bed. I knew I made a mistake the moment I lashed out at Alexia. I knew I shouldn't have said all those things I said to her like that. I was so confused and disorientated and I didn't know what to think so I lashed out and she was the only one there to face my wrath. I shouldn't have kissed her, I know that but I don't regret doing it anyway. That was by far the best kiss of my entire life and I went ahead and messed it up by lashing out and saying those hurtful things to her. I can never forget the look on her face when I literally asked her to leave. She stayed true to her word and left the mansion before dawn could break properly. I heard her shuffling around in her room and I even watched her leave. I wanted to run to her and apologize for what I
Alexia's POV."I am so sorry, Alex." Lara apologized for what seemed like the hundredth time today. "One more time. Just say that word one more time and I will throw you out of this house myself and I mean it, Lara." I said. She has been apologizing nonstop for leaving me alone at the club last night. She said she saw me dancing with the guy on the dance floor and I looked like I was having fun so she didn't bother to interrupt me but then I was no longer there the next time she looked and by the time she went to the restroom to look for me I was already gone. Noah later received a text from Nathaniel who explained what happened to them. She chuckled. "When will you be going back to the mansion? I can drop you off on my way home." She said. "I won't be going back." I moved out of Nathaniel's house very early this morning. I started packing up immediately I left him by the pool. There wasn't much to pack so it didn't take much time and I was done before I knew it. I wasn't sure if
Alexia’s POV. The relief on seeing Nathaniel was instant. His eyes met mine for a brief second before he took in the guy that still had me pinned against the bathroom wall. He grabbed him by his shirt and threw him off me. My legs turned to jelly the moment the guy was off me and I ended up slipping against the wall my breast still exposed. Nathaniel made quick work of removing his shirt and helped me to put it on. The shirt was really big on me and it covered up my now ruined two-piece easily. “Are you okay?” He asked cupping my face and all I could do was nod. “What the hell man?” The guy from the dance floor said when he regained his footing. “What did you think you were doing?” Nathaniel asked him facing him. His body was wound tight and I could see smoke coming out of his head, literally. “We were going to have fun not that I need to tell you that.” The guy said with a disgusting smirk and I felt myself shudder in disgust. “She didn’t want you to touch her. I heard her scr
Alexia's POV. It has been one week. A week since the kitchen scene. A week since Nathaniel left me sitting in the kitchen making me wonder what the fuck I did or said wrong. Everything was going alright. I couldn't sleep and I left my room to check if there was something I could munch on but I ended up spilling what was left of the cereal when Nathaniel entered the kitchen suddenly. Then he made noodles and was helping me separate the yolk from the white part and I asked him how he remembered that. He was going to tell me. He started talking and then he shut up all of sudden and left the kitchen like his dick was on fire. He has been avoiding me since that day. He doesn't stay in the same room as me even if everyone is there, he always finds an excuse to leave, it also helps that he has started going to work again. Anytime I try to talk to him he pretends as if he didn't hear me or even see me. He doesn't even spare me a glance at all and at this rate, I was willing to take his scow
Nathaniel's POV. I was jealous. I hate to admit it but I was jealous of her faceless boyfriend called Liam— even his name sounds lame. I have no right whatsoever to be jealous of him and I know that, I know it too well but I couldn't help the jealousy I felt when she was talking to him over the phone. The conversation started out stiff at first but they eased into the conversation real fast and she had this bright smile on her face, her eyes were even twinkling and the fact that this Liam guy was the one that put that look there didn't sit well with me. I know I should not be feeling like this about another woman when I have a girlfriend of my own but Alexia just...she confuses me and there is the fact that I keep getting flashes of memories that involves her. The whole thing is messing with my head and emotions and I was starting to feel guilty towards Cynthia. That was why I switched up on Alex earlier in the restaurant—guilt. I felt guilty that I was enjoying another woman's comp
