Chapter Ninety-nine

When Hailey walked past the study room, she paused at the door and pushed it open. But the place was empty, no one was inside.

So she decided to look for him downstairs, she wouldn't believe he didn't eat breakfast before going to work. He must be in the dining room.

She turned around to leave the study room, but something caught her eye from a corner.

It was a white bag. Wait– wasn't it the white bag she'd seen the Butler hiding last night?

Hailey halted in her footsteps and she started biting at her fingers. Her eyes darted between the door and the white bag which was sitting at the farther end of the couch.

'Urgh.' she let out an exasperated sound and scratched at her head. She had learned her lesson from last night. Kendrick didn't look pleased when he caught her eavesdropping. She had to mind her business.
