Chapter 90

[THIRD-PERSON POV]

"Hmm," Jaxson grumbled. "I wonder what fact I could share..."

Cattleya let out a weak giggle while glimpsing at Jaxson as he move his finger to his chin, tapping it as he tilted his head upwards. His eyes narrowed a bit as his lips were pursed.

"Maybe I could share that I have a lot of cars that I have no choice but to make a separate house for them?" He raised both his brows as he put his gaze back to her.

"Oh, please, Jax. Don't be ridiculous." Cattleya shook her head as she kept on giggling.

“But that's all nothing but fact. If you don't believe what I said, I can show them all to you once we get back to the city for you to see it yourself. I have a plenty of them. I will let you decide on a car you like for your driver to use as he sends you to your academy.”

Cattleya put up one of her brows as her lips twitched showing him a dubious look. "Seriously?”

“Yes. You can be excited about it.” Jaxson replied with a proud grin on his lips which quickly faded after hearing Cattleya's next words.

"That's so obvious. Don't you think I expect some man as wealthy as you will have only one car to use? Of course you will have tons of them because you can afford it like a new toy. But creating a separate house for it was quite shocking, but then, it's predictable for someone as rich as you. Come on, Jax, tell me something more about you and not your luxury.”

"Well, do you know someone who names their car? Because I do. And I can tell you the name of the car we were using today. That car was a she and her name is K.C."

Cattleya was trying to keep her face straight but he couldn't contain her laugh so she bursted guffawing. "You name your cars too? That's cool!" She exclaimed as she still struggled to hide her laugh.

Jaxson's proud beam widened after hearing what she said.

"A man living next to our apartment name his cars too. And one of them is named Judy."

The smirk on his lips quickly faded and changed into frown. "So that is not new as well? I always thought in my mind that I am such an unpredictable man.” Jaxson uttered as his hand lifted to his head to scratch it while his eyes began to wandered around trying to pick things in his mind. "Well, how about this?" Jaxson turned his body to face Cattleya as he locked her legs with his. Both of his hands landed on her tights while maintaining eye contact with her. "But promise me that you will never tell anyone about it or else it could risk my life and put me in too much danger."

Cattleya leaned a bit and moved her head backwards away from Jaxson. "I am a bit scared about keeping secrets like that... Can you just not tell me? Just tell me something, maybe light secrets?”

Jaxson chuckled because of Cattleya's face. Her brows almost collided as she frowned in petrification.

"I trust you." He said deeply and sincerely without breaking their eye contact.

Cattleya took a deep breath as she closed her eyes, trying to calm herself before she opened her eyes again and gave him a soft nod which made Jaxson snicker because of how cute she looked. Her eyes formed as she waited for his words.

"I have a severe allergy to spinach." Jaxson said as he closed his eyes while moving his jaws because of the strange feeling he felt after letting out a secret to Cattleya.

He was shocked when Cattleya slapped his shoulders as she tried to get away from him.

“You scared me to death! I thought you're going to say something... Something really scary to handle and could risk your precious life!” She yelled, annoyed as she glared at Jaxson.

"You don't understand, do you?"

"That what? That you are allergic to spinach? Oh yeah, I think I understand you crystal clear!” She said in a sarcastic tone as she rolled her eyes at him.

"You don't understand how it could kill me in minutes." Jaxson's voice became serious and grabbed Cattleya's attention. "It's a severe allergy, Cattleya. And only the family knows about it. If this information ever got out and someone else hears it, they could use it against me and assassinate me without even using their guns. It is so important that the secret stays only in the family.”

"Now that made sense..." Cattleya muttered. "That's why when I asked for spinach to cook you some chicken soup, I couldn't find any in your house. Aunt Elsie told me that the market ran out of spinach and that made me question her answer until now. When did you learn that you have a spinach allergy?” He asked Jaxson as the corners of her eyes droop down, empathizing with him.

"Well, the first time we heard about it was when I was almost killed after eating a spinach cheese pizza. I nearly got killed by a pizza.” Jackson chuckled. "I passed out after I felt my lungs out of air and I couldn't say anything. I can't even scream for help. I would have died if D did not save my life by calling for help. My allergy was so bad that it had to be kept as a family secret including D. Emily and his son, Lance, never heard about this as well because the accident happened even before they came.”

"That's really sad to hear... It would scare me to go out and eat in a restaurant if I were you. There might be assassins there that could sneak out of the kitchen and put some spinach on your food to kill you.” Cattleya said in a worried tone.

"And that is why we have guards. Some of them go in the kitchen to watch the chef make the food so they can make me safe.”

Cattleya nodded as she let out a deep sigh. "I will make sure to keep your secret. I can even taste the food before you to make sure that there's no spinach in there. If you will allow me to eat your food before you do.”

Jaxson let out a soft laugh in response. "I can even taste the food in your lips if you allow me."

Cattleya slapped his tight playfully as she scrunched her nose. "No I won't!"

"You'll like it."

"You wish."

They were both submerged in deep silence as their attentions were both diverted to the lake in front of them. Only the breeze and movement of the water can be heard around them along with their calm breathing and the indelible smiles on their lips.

"We have to go." Cattleya uttered that broke the quietness.

"Can't we just stay here forever?" Jaxson asked as he shifted his eyes to Cattleya. He was met with her scowl so he quickly rose from seating. "Yeah, we really have to go. It will be a long walk.”
