Chapter 82

[Cattleya's POV]

[“I can feel you listening... Catt... I realize how much my words have affected you and I'm sorry for being so insensitive that I didn't consider what you will feel. But, I also want to tell you that what I mean by saying I'm famous and you're an ordinary girl is just because I want to be protective of you. Catt... please... answer me.”]

I shook my head as my tears continued to fall. I used my hand to cover my mouth and remained silent.

[“I'm just afraid that when people start getting information from your background that I want to protect, they'll use it against you. And what's worse is that people will see it as one of your weaknesses.”]

I didn't know hearing someone's voice hurt like this. I felt like my heart was being squeezed by ten different people because of the tightness and pain.

[“I was being protective of you... but I guess I went overboard and now, instead of keeping you by my side, you're gone. Catt, can you tell me where you are..? I'm here in your apartment and you're not here. Baby, please... Tell me where you are and I'll pick you up."]

I hung up after hearing what he had to say and then I shut down my phone to stop receiving calls from anyone at least for now.

I took one of the pillows and buried my face in it. Maybe it would be better for me to take a nap tonight. And force myself to rest.

Jaxson told me he was just protecting me and didn't mean what he said. But I don't seem to be convinced of his reasons for telling me those brutal words.

I get it, paparazzi will be all over me once they find out where I really come from and dig deeper into my past. I think he has a point. If some of his followers look up my information they will find out about my mother and Charles. I guess he is right. However, I am still not happy with the words he used to me.

I'll go back tomorrow in the afternoon and spend some time here because I feel that the surroundings here in their place are beautiful especially every morning even though the place is really beautiful even at night.

I'm going to try to sleep tonight, but first I need to help myself to sleep because it seems like a lot is really bothering me and I'm having a hard time finding peace and rest.

I wiped my tear wet cheeks and then slowly got up from the bed. I went to the other side of the window and then slowly opened the curtain covering it.

I was amazed at the view that opened up to me when I opened the curtain and only the sliding window served as my house. This window is glass so I can see the outside even though I haven't opened it yet. I gently sat on the sofa bed next to the window. I assume that they put this purposely so that if you want to relax and just look at the window, you have an area that is comfortable while staring outside the window.

View here is the widest land where almost every tree has its Christmas lights that is sparkling looking up here from above. It's like stargazing but you don't look up.

I slide the door open to feel the cool breeze brushing my skin. I let the cool breeze dry the remaining tears on my cheeks.

"Thinking deeply again?"

I opened my eyes when I heard Richard's voice. I immediately looked for where he was but I was surprised that I couldn't see him anywhere I looked.

"Down here, princess."

When I looked down, he wasn't lying. He climbed up using a thick rope tied to a tree almost adjacent to the room where I was staying.

"What's nice after a long day? Pic nic." He said and then went directly into the room and passed through the window.

“Seriously?” I rollfully rolled my eyes. "Aren't you running out of energy, Manager Sol? You mean, Richard? The night is too late.”

He didn't seem to hear me as he laid the cloth he was carrying on the floor and then placed the basket he was carrying on it.

“Girls love sweets, don't they? I want to please you, Catt. So, I picked all these fresh strawberries for you, washed them, and brought you some melted chocolate.” He proudly exclaimed as he carefully set down plates full of strawberries and a bowl of melted chocolate.

"Did you go shopping for strawberries?" I asked and then approached him when Richard pointed the empty space in front of him. “It looks really good. Let me taste one.” I pressed my lips together, watching Richard as he took one of the strawberries and dipped it in the melted chocolate.

I accepted it when he handed me the strawberry. I took a glance of him before I tasted the strawberry.

I felt my eyes welling up the moment I bit into the strawberries. It's really sweet and fresh. I was surprised by its softness and its smell is really fruity.

I couldn't help but smile, loving how sweet the fruit was and made it even better with the melted chocolate.

"I'm glad you like it." Richard grunted with a smile.

"I love it." I answered before taking another bite of the strawberry after dipping it in the chocolate.

"I always give this to my mom to cheer her up too. And after seeing you earlier, I thought you might like something sweet so I went to the farm and picked some."

“Really? Where's your mom?” I asked as I couldn't stop myself from eating the strawberries because of how sweet it tastes.

“She's in the city, of course. But sometimes, we go back here together. Whenever she misses how the life is here, she always takes me back and escape our real world. There's nothing wrong with taking a rest, Cattleya.” I felt his hand as it brushed over my cheeks. “How can those sad eyes tear my heart this much..?”
