Chapter 2. Registration

The next day Bella came to the mansion, at which time Nelvan was sitting on the sofa in the reading room, holding a thick book, glasses perched on his sharp nose, Nelvan's hazel eyes glanced at the door as Bella walked over.

"Nelvan, you-" Bella's hand was caught by Nelvan with one hand before she could hit his face, slowly Nelvan's head turned up slightly to look at Bella.

"What are you doing here?" Nelvan said calmly, and Bella pulled her hand away.

"Why did you cancel our wedding, do you know how embarrassed I was in front of all the invited guests? Why didn't you tell me from the beginning that you didn't want to marry me, that you didn't love me anymore?"

Nelvan chuckled softly, he simply did not care how much embarrassment Bella felt, because the one who started this problem was Bella herself. The book Nelvan was holding was closed and placed on the table, the glasses he was wearing were also placed on the table.

"Love? Since when did I say love in front of you? Aren't you the one who wants to marry me?" Nelvan smiled wryly, "I have already granted your request, but to take vows in front of God? Too bad I won't do it." Nelvan added.

Bella knelt in front of Nelvan, holding the hand of this man who almost became her husband, Nelvan pulled his hand away from Bella.

"Get out, I don't need your presence here." Nelvan said, pushing Bella away.

"Nelvan, no. I still love you, let's get married and live happily, I don't care if you cancel our wedding yesterday, as long as we can do a second event to get married." Bella said pleadingly.

Nevan smiled amused at what Bella had said, "There will be no wedding, so get out," Nelvan said, after all, who would marry someone who had been caught in the act of treason.

Everyone must hate acts of betrayal, including Nelvan, being betrayed by his own future wife a few hours before the wedding of course makes Nelvan never forget such a big mistake.

Moreover, the person working with Bella was Romy, a person Nelvan had always considered a friend. They were all traitors, and traitors had to be removed from his life.

Nelvan snapped his fingers and soon the guards came to drag Bella out of the reading room.

"Nelvan! I'm not finished with you yet! Let go, let me talk to Nelvan!" Bella shouted, rebelling against the guards.

Meanwhile, Nelvan casually put his reading glasses back on before continuing to read the delayed book.

Nelvan was busy reading for a while until someone came over, "Sir, the maid you need has arrived," said Hans - Nelvan's assistant.

"Bring my wheelchair, no one should know if I can walk normally." replied Nelvan, Hans nodded and then left and came back with the wheelchair Nelvan requested, then Hans pushed the wheelchair to approach the prospective maids who would be chosen directly by Nelvan.

"Lynda!" someone shouted, Lynda felt her name being called, she turned around to see her best friend coming running while handing her a piece of paper, Lynda accepted the paper but before reading it, Lynda said.

"Why are you running like that, is someone chasing you?" Lynda looked behind Mia, but the girl, who was catching her breath, immediately shook her head.

"I have a job and we can apply together. For those of us who have only finished high school, it is quite difficult to get such a well-paying job." Mia said.

Lynda looked at the paper Mia was carrying as she carefully read what kind of jobs were being offered.

"Why look for the inexperienced when there are experts?" Lynda's brow furrowed in incomprehension, Mia replied with a knowing shrug.

"For us newbies, two thousand dollars is quite a lot, and we can try working there first. Then, if we don't like the way they hire us, we'd better quit this job, but I heard that if we're lucky, we might get to serve the young master. Aah... now I'm thinking about how handsome the young master is," Mia blinked as she imagined.

Lynda once again confirmed a piece of paper with information about the announcement that an inexperienced maid was needed, the payment of two thousand dollars offered was not a huge amount in this day and age, but it was written that the pay would be increased many times over as long as you could stay there for at least one month.

"So how about it? You want to go with me tomorrow to try this job, right?" Mia asked impatiently.

Lynda thought for a while.

"Lynda, come on! Don't think too long or there won't be any jobs for us nineteen-year-olds," Mia pleaded.

Lynda sighed, "All right, we'll try this job, but is it okay to be a maid? Isn't that a job to serve someone?" asked Lynda, still doubtful.

"What's wrong with trying, I wonder what the young master in the house looks like, he must be very handsome like the comics and movies I've seen, now let's get ready to leave tomorrow." Mia took Lynda's arm enthusiastically.

The next day came and everyone who wanted to apply gathered at a certain place. Mia and Lynda were all dressed up and ready to be interviewed if necessary, but it turned out that there were a lot of people who wanted to apply to be maids.

Mia let out a deep sigh and turned to Lynda, who was tying up her loose hair.

"Shall we just go home?" Mia said.

Lynda turned her head and looked at the long line of people who wanted to apply. There was someone in front of them who asked if the prospective maid was fit to be taken to the mansion or not.

"Yesterday you were so eager to leave, but why do you want to come back now?" asked Lynda.

"They all seem to be much better than us, so I don't think I will pass this first selection, we better go back and find another job" Mia turned around but Lynda held Mia's shoulder.

"We came all this way, I don't want to waste the money I spent on the bus for nothing," she said refusing, Mia lowered her shoulders and finally accepted what Lynda said.

They waited their turn for quite a while until it was time for them to be asked some questions. For this first selection, it turned out that Mia and Lynda were entitled to go to the mansion.

However, there was still a final selection that they had to pass where only one maid was needed in the mansion to serve their young master. But there are still things that make Lynda think, why do you have to wait a month to get a big salary? Have there been people who have applied to be a maid before, but no one has ever lasted a month?

Is the young master in question a cruel and heartless character? For some reason, Lynda's hair stood on end at the thought of being confronted with such a young master.

"Mia, how about we end it here?" Lynda said and Mia immediately rolled her eyes in disagreement.
