A house so large that the courtyard was as vast as a palace garden. Lynda's lips parted in amazement at the sight of the mansion.
"They're so rich, but why is the salary only two thousand dollars?" Mia muttered, Lynda turned to look at her best friend, but Lynda did not say anything because she did not know the reason either.
There were about eight people who had passed the first stage of the selection, and now it was time to go face to face with the owner of the house who would choose one of the eight maid candidates.
"Do you think the young master's face is like a handsome Disney prince? He's very rich, but I wonder if his face is as beautiful as a prince's?" Mia muttered again beside Lynda.
"We'll see the young master later, so be patient, we just need to wait a few more minutes," Lynda whispered.
Mia nodded, then someone named Hans led them into the mansion.
"You can wait here for a moment, I will call the young master to come," Hans said before leaving the maid candidates.
"I heard that the young master in this mansion had a failed marriage, so he needs to vent his anger over what happened to his future wife," someone whispered behind Lynda.
"They say he's also disabled, if we qualify to be his servants, will we be able to last a month? Many say he's also very cruel and now I'm hesitant to continue being a maid here, it's just that the demands of my life that need this money can't avoid work."
Mia turned to look at the two women whispering behind her, "Will you shut up? If he heard what you just said, who knows what will happen to you next!" Mia said and the woman snorted.
Lynda held back a smile until soon Hans came pushing someone in a wheelchair, for a moment Lynda was amazed at the figure of the man sitting in his wheelchair, he was indeed handsome like a prince in a Disney fantasy, it's just that his face was very cold, not as friendly as a prince in a fairy tale.
Unconsciously Lynda clenched her hands nervously, she had not expected to be chosen by this man. Just by looking at his face, Lynda seemed to be able to imagine what would happen if she was chosen.
"He is young Master Nelvano Xander, Master Nelvan will choose one of you to be his servant," Hans introduced.
Many of the people who had come with Lynda were silent and then Nelvan spoke.
Those who do not want me to choose please leave," Nelvan said in a tone that was not at all friendly, there were three people who immediately turned to leave the place, then Nelvan continued, "and the person I choose will get more pay than informed," he added.
Lynda held her breath and grew nervous, she wanted to turn around and go after the other three people who had already left. But she needed money too, her younger brother was at school and needed money, while in her family only Lynda was responsible for earning a living.
A deep sigh escaped Lynda's lips, her younger brother needed the money more for school fees. So she should be able to choose, after all working as a maid is not a despicable job.
Nelvan looked at the remaining five people, four of them were looking down, while there was one who dared to look at him openly.
Hans cleared his throat to wake Lynda, the woman looked at Nelvan boldly as if challenging, Lynda turned to Hans where the man asked Lynda to look down and Lynda who understood immediately looked down while looking at Mia, but the two did not say anything to each other.
They bowed as if in a moment of silence, and Nelvan smiled wryly. It seemed as if he had already found the person who would serve him, whether the girl could survive a month working in this place or not.
"What is your name?" said Nelvan.
Because she was looking down, Lynda didn't realize that she was the one Nelvan was pointing at.
"I said what's your name!" Nelvan repeated angrily, he didn't like being ignored and on the first day of meeting Lynda he had to repeat the same sentence just to ask for a name.
Mia elbowed Lynda's arm until the girl looked at Mia as if to ask "What's wrong?", then Mia coded Lynda to look at Nelvan who was talking to the man.
"You're asking me?" Lynda asked back.
"You can all come out except you!" Nelvan pointed at Lynda, the girl's eyes widened in shock as she saw Mia and the others coming out, Mia patted Lynda's arm.
"Congratulations, I hope you survive." Mia said resignedly.
"Mia, why are you..."
"Stop, you stay here," Nelvan said holding Lynda who was about to catch up with the four people coming out.
Hans told Lynda to turn around, "You can't catch up with them, you have to stay here until the young master is done with you." Hans said in a low tone so that Lynda would not run away.
Feeling palpitations of fear, Lynda turned to look at Nelvan.
"The young master asked for your name." Hans reminded her.
Lynda twisted her fingers nervously, seeing that this made Nelvan smile slightly, it seemed that this young girl in front of him had no work experience at all.
"My name is Lynda," Lynda said.
Lynda's mind was now confused, she was alone in this place without Mia, even though Lynda thought she would be working with Mia, but who would have thought that only one would be chosen and that was her. The nervousness made Lynda even more uncomfortable, having no experience in serving someone was certainly not an easy job for a beginner like her. Besides, the person Lynda would be serving was a young master with a face as cold as the ice at the North Pole.
"Come tomorrow morning, you can start working from tomorrow, and remember one thing, I don't like tardiness," Nelvan said, not knowing why Lynda immediately nodded because of the man'.
Hans pushed Nelvan's wheelchair away from Lynda, a sigh of relief escaped the girl's lips, Lynda thought she was going to die standing there staring at the man named Nelvan, the man's pair of eyes staring like he was about to pounce on prey.
Lynda walked out of the mansion, walking leisurely as she thought about what she would do after this. She should be happy to have graduated, but somehow it made her feel quite scared to work in a mansion with a horrible young master like Nelvan.
"Miss Lynda," Hans called, Lynda turned her head.
Hans walked a little to Lynda, "Can I have your cell phone number so I can let you know when you're coming tomorrow?" Hans said.
"Sure." Lynda then took the man's cell phone and copied his cell phone number onto it. The man looked at Lynda.
"Are you nervous?" asked Hans, Lynda nodded as she gave Hans his cell phone back, Hans smiled then the two of them walked towards the gate, "Young Master is like that, so there's no need to be afraid, he's actually a good person, it's just that since he had a problem a few months ago he's become a grumpy person, I hope you can put up with his nature when you start your work tomorrow morning."
Lynda stopped walking and looked up at Hans who was taller than her, "Am I going to die working in this house? I heard that there have been a few maids who have worked for young Master Xander, but they never lasted a month. If I work there, I won't die, right? I still have a younger brother to support," Lynda said.
Hans chuckled amusedly, "Take it easy, if the young master dares to kill you, I will try to take your side."
"I don't believe it, you work for him, you must be on his side," Lynda said.
Hans laughed even more amused until Mia called out.
"Lynda!" Mia waved her hand.
"My best friend is waiting, so excuse me," Lynda said.
"Don't forget to come tomorrow morning, I'll call you," Hans said, Lynda just nodded in agreement before she ran over to Mia and the two girls excited Nelvan's large yard.
"Poor girl, I hope you can handle Nelvan's temper." Hans muttered before returning to the mansion.
"Where are you going so early in the morning?" asked Allexin, Lynda's fifteen year old brother. Lynda turned around as she finished putting on her shoes, "I'm going to work for your tuition, so study well so that one day you'll have to pay me for what I've done today," she replied. "You don't have to work hard for me, I'll try to find work myself." Allexin held Lynda's hand, "The work out there is very dangerous for girls like you, I don't want anything to happen to you," Allexin continued worriedly. Lynda let go of the teenager's hand as she smiled, then Lynda looked at Allexin, "You don't have to worry, right now I'm going to pay for your schooling and all you have to do is concentrate on your studies, you have to be more successful than your sister, do you understand? Then I'll go to work," Lynda patted Allexin's face and left their small house. "Watch out for the men out there!" Allexin shouted. Lynda smiled at Allexin's call, a car stopped in front of Lynda as she left the h
It was already twenty minutes past eleven, and while Lynda hadn't even finished half of the mansion by herself, she was already feeling quite tired with only a few parts of the house to clean and many more to go. "Lynda!" called Nelvan."Yes Mr. Xander, just a minute!" Lynda put the cloth she had been cleaning on the table and then ran over to where the voice was calling her. After arriving in front of Nelvan, Lynda paused for a few seconds, "Do you need anything?" she asked. "Prepare lunch," Nelvan said. "What do you want me to cook today?" Lynda asked."Anything, as long as I don't starve." Nelvan replied coldly. Lynda nodded quickly and returned to the kitchen to prepare the food, fortunately she had learned to cook quite well since her parents had died. Lynda learned to cook several years ago to give Allexin a life so the teenager would not starve. And now, for the first time, Lynda was cooking for someone other than her younger brother, Lynda wasn't sure if Nelvan would like
Lynda pushed Nelvan's wheelchair to the hospital parking lot, by this time Lynda was very hungry because she had not eaten lunch, especially since she had cleaned Nelvan's big house this morning, so her energy was very depleted. Hans opened the door to help Nelvan in, then Lynda took the wheelchair and put it in the trunk before getting into the car right next to Hans. Occasionally Hans saw Lynda twisting the fingers of her own hands, Lynda's face staring straight down the road without turning around or looking at Nelvan who was sitting in the back, Hans was sure that Lynda must have been scolded by Nelvan. He did not know if Lynda would survive to face Nelvan or not, it was only the first day and Lynda's condition seemed to want to jump into a deep river. Hans looked at the front mirror, Nelvan's reflection seemed to be looking at him too, Hans shook his head slowly, a deep sigh escaped his lips before the car Hans was driving entered the vast area of Nelvan's house. Lynda rushed
The morning before school, Allexin drove Lynda to see Lynda's new boss. On the way, a black car stopped in front of Lynda and Allexin, so Hans returned to pick Lynda up. "Is he your boss?" asked Allexin. Lynda shook her head, "No, he's the assistant boss." Lynda replied. "Miss Lynda, please come in," said Hans, who had helped Lynda put Lynda's not too big suitcase into the trunk. "I'll be fine, don't worry about me and concentrate on your schoolwork." Lynda patted Allexin on the shoulder, then got into the car with Hans, leaving Allexin to watch the black car drive away. A sigh escaped the teenager's lips, "Luckily your boss is a good person this time, so I'm not so worried about you while you're away from home." Allexin mumbled, then left for school, even though he had failed to deliver Lynda to the boss's house. "Who was that man?" asked Hans. Lynda shook her head and refused to answer, Hans nodded his understanding and did not ask about Allexin. Lynda doesn't want many peopl
It was late, Lynda prepared dinner for Nelvan and then told him the food was ready so that Nelvan could come and eat the dinner Lynda had prepared. Lynda felt so tired that it seemed if she lay down she would go straight to dreamland. Lynda watched as Nelvan ate his dinner and then the man left without saying a word of thanks. Lynda sighed, she cleaned up the leftovers, it had been a very long day, there was no time to rest except at mealtime, and now it was late, but she still hadn't finished cleaning Nelvan's house to make it cleaner. It was ten o'clock at night, Lynda could no longer hold back her tiredness, the door to the room was closed and Lynda immediately flopped down on the bed. "It's so cozy," she said as she rubbed the soft sheets and soft mattress, Lynda's eyes closed to restore the energy that had been drained from her today. "Lynda!" A snort escaped Lynda's lips, the girl came out of the room again to meet Nelvan who called her name, wouldn't the man let her rest?
Lynda did not stop breathing because of the work Nelvan gave her, a job that could be done easily was made difficult by the man. Draining the pool? Seriously, it wasn't a two-foot aquarium pool. If it was an aquarium, maybe Lynda could do it, but what Nelvan was asking her to do was a swimming pool over four meters long. "Is she still sane? It looks like if I manage to empty this pool, I'm going to have man-sized biceps." Lynda looked down at her muscular arms as she lowered her shoulders, "You're going to get strong work, so you should be prepared to get strong muscles." Lynda told her own arms. Lynda didn't know where the pool was, hopefully it was only knee deep, she wouldn't be able to remove that much water with her hands. "You can't give up, do your best and make the man happy," Lynda said, encouraging herself. One by one, Lynda filled the bucket with water and then dumped it. She did this not once or twice, but many times, until her body felt tired, Lynda stopped to take a
Lynda touched her lips, the door was locked from the inside, not letting anyone in, not even the voters of the house. If I'm not mistaken, Lynda felt something on the surface of her lips, was it the artificial breath Nelvan gave her? Both of Lynda's eyeballs bulged, whether it was artificial breath or whatever it was, it was clear that the man had taken her first kiss. And Lynda also did not believe that Nelvan would give an order to undress, even though Nelvan himself had asked for it, but Lynda was still reasonable not to do such actions. In addition to the rudeness of undressing others, she also knew that Nelvan was a normal man, lest the touch Lynda accidentally gave him wake him up and make him aggressive. Lynda immediately shook her head and quickly cleaned her body before changing into dry clothes, lest she get sick or Nelvan cursed her even more. "Lynda! What are you doing! Where's my lunch?" shouted Nelvan. Lynda was surprised, she had just finished getting dressed and
Lynda slowly started to do the same work, Nelvan's house was so big that she couldn't do it all at once. So, little by little, according to her ability, she would clean the house. "Who was that woman who came yesterday?" muttered Lynda. "You don't need to know who she is," Nelvan said curtly. Lynda immediately turned around in surprise at the sound of Nelvan's voice behind her, the man steering his wheelchair with the remote control past Lynda to go near the ornamental fish pond, soothing himself with the sound of running water. "He scared me," Lynda said quietly. "Hans," Lynda greeted as she saw Nelvan's assistant coming, Hans smiled at Lynda, "Do you see young master?" asked Hans, Lynda nodded as she pointed to where Nelvan was. Hans went to meet Nelvan, they talked about work that Lynda didn't know, ignoring what Hans and Nelvan were doing made Lynda shake her head and continue working again. "Lynda, cheer up!" Hans walked past Lynda after his business with Nelvan was over,
Several months later. The seasons had changed, and the white dress with a long train caught the attention of the guests. The veil on Lynda's head completed the beauty and uniqueness of the wedding day she would share with Nelvan today.Lynda's smile never faded as she held a bouquet of flowers with one hand and held Allexin's hand, walking down the aisle towards an altar where Nelvan stood with a pastor.Nelvan wore a black tuxedo, a white shirt, and a bow tie matching the tuxedo. He looked like couldn't wait to reach Lynda. For Nelvan, Lynda looked incredibly beautiful at that moment. With the white wedding dress adorned with diamonds, Lynda's appearance was truly enhanced. Nelvan was touched to see the woman walking towards him, who would soon be his wife. The gaze between the bride and groom didn't waver until Lynda stood in front of Nelvan with Allexin. The teenager placed Lynda's hand in Nelvan's and said, "Now, I entrust Lynda's happiness to you. Never hurt her if you still want
Allexin was also dressed neatly and stylishly, typical of today's teenagers. He had even booked a taxi to their destination.Lynda, feeling confused, just followed wherever Allexin took her. Wherever it was, Lynda was sure it wasn't a dangerous place. Allexin wouldn't put her in danger as long as the teenager could still breathe. The journey was quite long. One hour after getting ready and over thirty minutes on the road."Where are we actually going?" Lynda asked, unable to hold back any longer. But Allexin just replied,"If I tell you now, it won't be a secret anymore." And Lynda just sighed.Suddenly, Allexin gently pulled Lynda. Without asking permission, the teenager put a blindfold on Lynda so she couldn't see anything."Allexin, why can't I see?""Shhh..., just a moment." The taxi stopped, and Allexin led Lynda out of the car and helped her walk to avoid tripping. Warmth was the first thing Lynda felt. It was likely they had entered a room, but Lynda couldn't see anything but da
It was early in the morning when Lynda woke up Allexin for breakfast, but the teenager was nowhere to be found. If it weren't winter, Lynda would know where Allexin went, but now she had no idea where he could have gone so early in the morning.Lynda reached for her phone to contact him, but Allexin's phone rang in the room, indicating it was being charged. Lynda sat and waited for Allexin to return so they could enjoy their meal together. The door opened, and Lynda immediately stood up, thinking it was Allexin, but to her surprise, it was Mia who entered. Lynda quickly ran into her friend's arms."Mia! I missed you so much!" Lynda exclaimed.Mia laughed as she returned Lynda's hug, "I missed you too," Mia replied.Lynda smiled broadly. She initially thought Mia had come alone, but seeing another figure behind Mia piqued Lynda's curiosity. The person was carrying many items, obscuring their face."Who did you bring?" Lynda asked."Let him in first." Mia opened the door to allow the per
Allexin patted Lynda's shoulder, trying to calm her down, but instead of succeeding in soothing Lynda, her brother's gesture only made her cry even more. Lynda didn't care that she looked very embarrassing crying like a child who wanted candy in front of her younger brother. The teenager took several deep breaths. "Is the impact on his head so severe that he doesn't recognize you?" Allexin asked.Lynda turned but then burst into tears again. Allexin massaged his temples. "Stop crying; I know the head injury was quite severe, but I didn't expect it to make him forget you. Perhaps it's just temporary amnesia; you calm down, he will surely remember you again," Allexin said, rubbing Lynda's arm.Lynda's feelings were still very painful. She had been caring for Nelvan day and night to ensure that he regained consciousness. However, when Nelvan opened his eyes and spoke, he didn't recognize Lynda. What was even more painful than that was being considered a stranger when Nelvan had suffered
Unconsciously, seven days had passed, and during that time, Nelvan still refused to open his eyes. The bruises on Nelvan's body had significantly reduced, indicating that Nelvan's condition might soon improve. As Lynda cleaned Nelvan's body with a damp towel, Allexin arrived with a wide smile."Lynda," the teenager called out. Lynda turned, and Allexin proudly displayed his tournament championship certificate. "I won the martial arts tournament yesterday. Don't worry; this is legal, and here's the proof of my achievement," Allexin continued before Lynda could get angry."Really?" Lynda placed the damp towel in the basin, and she took the certificate held by Allexin. Lynda's expression changed as she read Allexin's name written as the winner on it."I'm sorry I couldn't cheer you on during your match yesterday," Lynda said apologetically.Allexin shook his head, "It's not a big deal. In fact, because you didn't come, I was able to win," Allexin joked, chuckling and successfully dodging
A man known to Lynda as Nelvan's cousin arrived. The accident from yesterday had left Nelvan unconscious, and some parts of his body were starting to bruise. His shoulder and head were the same, seeing Nelvan in such a state would undoubtedly evoke pity from anyone who saw him."How is he?" Julius asked."There's still no sign of Nelvan waking up soon," Lynda replied. She then asked, "Have Nelvan's parents been informed about this?"Julius shook his head. "I don't know, but Nelvan is used to this. I mean, if he's sick, neither of his parents really care." Julius placed a flower and its vase on the table.Lynda looked at Nelvan. He had a complete family, but none of them had come to visit when he was sick. The only one who came to visit him was Julius.Shortly after Julius arrived, the door to the hospital room opened again. Hans entered, breathing heavily, looking like he had just finished a marathon."How is Nelvan?" Hans asked immediately. During the incident yesterday, Hans was in
Nelvan's hands clenched tightly as if he could crush anything in his grasp, his face clearly showing restraint to avoid hitting anyone there.Through his eyes, Nelvan saw Lynda in the most dangerous position, feeling incredibly guilty as it was his fault that Lynda was in this situation."What do you want?" Nelvan spoke with a restrained voice, not wanting to engage in small talk when it concerned Lynda's safety.Gilbert took the documents held by the man who had been with him all along. "Sign this; you will get your woman safely after signing this transfer document."Nelvan took the document."Don't scribble over it!" Lynda exclaimed. Nelvan turned; he genuinely wanted to run and take Lynda's place, but he couldn't act directly like that.Nelvan turned back to face Gilbert, who smirked cynically. "Why? Would you prefer the girl to die? What if I activate the bomb attached to her body?""Do you want me to sign this?" Nelvan asked."Of course, what do you think I've wanted all this tim
Nelvan headed to Allexin's location, not to pick up the teenager but to intercept the car carrying Lynda.Nelvan's actions were not on point, and his henchmen also joined in the search for Lynda. After about thirty minutes of searching, Nelvan still hadn't found any signs of Lynda's whereabouts.Nelvan's anxiety clouded his judgment, and all he wanted was to find Lynda safe and sound as soon as possible.Another call from Allexin came in, and Nelvan promptly answered."Have you found Lynda?" Nelvan asked."Not yet, I and the other people are also searching for Lynda, but no luck so far," Allexin replied.Nelvan turned off his phone and focused on finding Lynda. He also waited for one of his men to call and confirm that Lynda was safe. But over an hour had passed, and there was still no sign of Lynda. Both Nelvan and Allexin were equally worried.Elsewhere, Lynda unconscious and bound to a concrete pillar in a standing position, a basin of cold water was poured over Lynda, jolting her
Winter was on the verge of arriving, Nelvan sat in the reading room holding a book, but it wasn't the text in the book he was looking at, but a photo of a beautiful girl smiling sweetly. One thing Nelvan felt at the moment was guilt. Guilt for letting Julia replace him in the accident, and due to Nelvan's carelessness, Julia had found peace in her final resting place.Unexpectedly, after years, someone had imitated Julia's face to deceive Nelvan. No wonder since the incident at the hospital, Bella's presence had been hard to find, and it turned out that the cunning woman had altered her face to resemble the woman Nelvan had once protected.Nelvan's guilt was not only for Julia but also for Lynda. While lost in thought, suddenly Bella, with Julia's face, arrived. Honestly, Nelvan wanted to throw the woman in jail or into the depths of the sea if necessary. Besides her face being made as similar as possible to Julia's, Bella was also very skilled at pretending. If Nelvan made one wrong
