"Do you like Children Cesar?”. Elyon asked as she watched him eat. He'd invited her to lunch with him even if she didn't want to but he'd not given her any chance to argue.
Cesar looked up from his meal to stare at her with a raised brow. He wondered why she was asking... all of a sudden.
“I do.. sometimes.” Cesar replied. "Why do you ask?.”
“Sometimes? Not every time?”. She quipped. "That's an odd thing to say."
Cesar let out a masculine sigh and dropped his spoon. “Are you going to start lecturing me about my dislike for children Ellie?”. He inquired.
“No of course not." Elyon frowned. "And stop calling me Ellie.”
“You call me Cesar”. He reminded her.
”Isn’t that your name?”. She asked innocently.
“It’s Cesari". Cesar said. "Besides I’m your boss.”
“So?”. She blurted out.
“I demand that you respect me.” He said.
“Sure". She sent him a saccharine smile. "Sorry boss.” She didn’t sound sorry at all.
Cesar rolled his eyes at her. “You should be happy I’m in a good mood today. That stunt you pulled this morning wasn’t funny.”
”Would you have fired me?." She asked in a sultry voice. He'd asked her to get him coffee the usual way he liked it but she'd added so much sugar that he'd puked his guts out.
“Of course.” He said.
“Considering I’m the best assistant you’ve ever had?the coffee I make for you everyday has no equal and you know that". She told him. "Even though you work me like a horse.”
“Should I give you a raise then?." Cesar asked her with a sarcastic smile. "Besides... I can get someone who is more submissive and doesn't give me unwanted migraines everyday."
Elyon narrowed her eyes at him. “You’re lucky I’m not looking for a better job.” She said through gritted teeth.
”I hope you don’t tell your husband everything I do to you or do you?.” He questioned. "Not that he'd do anything about it but I'd rather not have a disgruntled man coming after me."
“I thought you’d have noticed.” She mused.
“Noticed what?”. He frowned.
”Since you notice every new thing about me..." She paused and sent him a coy smile.
Cesar frowned. “I don’t." He snapped.
Elyon laughed. "Liar liar Cesar on fire.” She sang. "Should I start mentioning very weird things you notice about me?".
“What have I not noticed about you?”. He changed the subject, knowing that if they got into it... one or both of them would end up leaving the restaurant annoyed and he didn't want that.
“I don’t wear a ring.” She held out her left hand to show him.
“Oh?." He stared at her hand and made to bite her fingers making her squeak and withdraw her hand. "It doesn’t matter. You don’t have to wear a ring or change your maiden name to your husband’s before you’re married. You don’t want me to know you’re married.” He said. "Women do it all the time."
“I’m not.” Elyon said belligerently.
Cesar leaned back in his chair and folded his arms fixing her a pointed look. “How do you explain your daughter?”. He demanded. "Or is she adopted?".
”A very irresponsible man got me pregnant.” She answered airily.
”Rape?." His expression became grim.
”No." She shook her head.
”If you gave yourself to the man then you’re equally irresponsible". Cesar told her. "There’s something called condom or even birth control pills.” He shrugged. "Who is he?”.
”He’s dead.” She answered. "He died before she was born."
”Too bad". He didn’t sound remorseful at all as he flashed her a grin. "But good thing I won’t have to share you with someone else.”
Elyon rolled her eyes. “Don’t flatter yourself Cesar. I don’t have a husband but I have a boyfriend.”
”No you don’t". Cesar replied looking smug.
”And you know that how?”. She arched her brows at him.
”I know everything about you." He shot her a lopsided grin.
Elyon snorted.” Right. And you didn’t know that I’m not married.” She drawled. "How very perceptive of you sir."
"Did you love him?". He asked. "Your daughter's father."
Elyon became uncomfortable and she squirmed on her seat. "Why do you want to know?". She inquired.
"I'm curious." He shrugged nonchalantly. "Were you in love with him?".
"I don't know." She shrugged. "Have you ever been in love?".
Cesar looked down at the table and began to play with the napkin beside his plate without answering.
"Cesar?". She called. "Are you okay?". She reached out to touch his hand but withdrew at the last minute. They were in a public place so she couldn't do anything that'd cause tongues to start wagging.
Even just being here having lunch with him was news all by itself and she knew she'd see something about it online sometime later today or tomorrow.
Just the name Cesari Sandoval was news - headline news.
”What time will you go pick up your daughter?”. He asked suddenly surprising her.
”2:30. Why?”. She frowned. He'd never asked about her daughter before.
”Let’s go together. It’s 1:00.” He said.
Elyon stared at him in surprise. “You really want to?”.
“Of course." He nodded and rose.
”Um..okay.” She still sat.
”Right now". Cesar said, impatient.
Elyon stood up and followed Cesar after he paid the bill. She was quiet on the ride to Miesa’s school and she was grateful when Cesar’s phone rang and he had to talk to someone but not for long.
”How old is your daughter?”. He asked her.
”She’s five". Elyon replied. "You really shouldn’t have bothered. I mean you have that meeting with Emerald Arts by 3 and it's been a long time coming."
”Let’s just say I’ve switched to “I like children” mood." Cesar sent her a lopsided grin. "Emerald Arts can wait. They need me, I don't need them."
"Cocky much?". She huffed.
"You know it turns you on." He winked at her.
Elyon blushed and looked out the window. “It’s hot in here, isn’t it?”. She asked him.
”The AC is on Elyon." Cesar told her looking amused. "Am I too hot for you?.”
Elyon rolled her eyes but didn’t answer. He was the hottest man she'd ever known but she wouldn't tell him. She'd die if he ever found out that he'd starred in her dreams almost every night since she started working for him.
”Tell me." He insisted as he parked at the curb just behind a gray SUV. The school was still in session but just for a minute more. They'd got to the school in record time and it was thanks to his mad driving skills.
”You’re not my type Cesar." Elyon informed him. "Sorry." She sent him an apologetic smile.
The school bell rang making her sigh in relief. "That’s the bell. I’ll go get her.” She unfastened her seat belt and got out of the car before he could say anything else then she closed the door and left.
Cesar shook his head and smiled. “I’m not your type eh Ellie? We’ll see about that sweetheart.” He thought.
Miesa and her best friend Bethany Williams were in the library reading a story book about Alice in wonderland when a thought came to Bethany. It was recess but they'd chosen to go to the library instead to read.”Mimi.” Beth called.”Yes?". Mimi looked up at her.”Do you think that.. I mean everyone is saying that you look a lot like Mr Sandoval. My mom said so herself. Do you think so too?”. Beth questioned.”Yes but..my grandpa told me that God created two people alike". Miesa shrugged.”You really believe that?”. Beth arched an eyebrow.”I do." She nodded then she grinned. "Considering the fact that Sharon looks like you.” She said teasingly.”No she doesn’t". Beth disagreed with a frown. "I won’t be caught dead looking like that. She looks like the red queen in Alice."”Miesa laughed softly and shook her head. “Sharon is not that bad.” She objected.”And her hair". Beth shuddered. Sharon Cavanaugh was their classmate and the least pretty girl in kindergarten but she was very nice
“Hello Lyn. Long time no speak.” Ellie greeted when she picked up the phone. Evelyn laughed. “How’s my home girl doing?”. Her best friend asked. ”Fine. How’s South Africa?”. Ellie asked. ”Great! I love it.” Eve said. "I’m so so happy here.” She let out a contented sigh. "Thank you so much for everything El.” ”What are friends for?”. She chuckled. ”I’m talking about Greg. Even though you practically forced him down my throat when I didn’t want him..I’m grateful you didn’t give up. He’s the bestest thing that’s ever happened to me.” Evie, short for Evelyn said. Elyon laughed. “You’re welcome.” She'd paired her other friend Gregory up with her best friend some years ago after Greg told her he had feelings for Evelyn and though Evelyn had not liked him at first but as time went on, she saw how kind, honest and thoughtful he was and decided to give him a chance. They got married a year after and moved to South Africa after Greg's boss relocated there so they also moved there. ”How’
“Doctor, Miesa Devane is here to see you.” Her secretary informed her standing in the doorway of her office.Doctor Mirabelle Rivera looked up from the magazine she was reading in surprise. “Miesa Devane?”. She wondered what the little girl wanted and hoped everything was fine. "Is she hurt?". She asked with concern lacing her voice.“No ma'am." Her secretary shook her head. "She said she has something important to discuss with you."“Let her in". Mirabelle said. She dropped her magazine wondering what the little girl wanted. She hoped it wasn't something life threatening though.Three seconds later the door opened and Miesa walked into the office and closed the door gently.“Good morning Doctor.” She greeted.“Morning Miesa". Mirabelle smiled at her. "Sit please.” She gestured to the chair in front of her desk.Miesa sat down grateful she was tall enough to look at doctor Mirabelle in the eye. “Um.. you’re not busy are you?”. She asked.“No of course not Miesa. What is it?”. Mirabell
Cesar and Elyon sat in their favorite restaurant having lunch. Everyone at Sandoval Corporation had noticed this closeness between their boss and his personal assistant and there were rumors that the two of them were having an affair. It had gotten to Elyon but they dared not let it get to the boss.Cesar was a wonderful boss and very friendly to his employees but he hated them making assumptions about him so they tried never to get on his bad side."I'd like for us to pick up your daughter from school again." Cesar informed Elyon."Why?". She asked."Because I feel like it?". He arched a brow."You can't do this Cesar." She sighed and shook her head."Why not?". He frowned. "Give me a reason.""I don't want Miesa to get used to you." She said. "Children's hearts get broken quite easily.""Are you saying that I'll break her heart?". He sounded hurt."You'll get bored of her." She said. "I'm her mother so I know what's best for her.""I happen to like her." He retorted. "And I don't li
"Don’t you find it very strange that your daughter looks a lot like me?”. Cesar asked her innocently. They had just finished a two hour meeting and went for lunch but Cesar decided to try a new place. They were having pizza for lunch and smoothie.“She does?". She feigned ignorance. "I haven’t noticed.” She shrugged nonchalantly.Cesar stared at her then down at his french fries. “Are you trying to tell me..that you gave birth to your daughter seven years ago and you’ve never taken a good look at her?.” He stared at her in disbelief.“M..maybe.” she mumbled.“Do you take me for a fool Ellie?”. He stopped eating and leaned back in his chair.“No of course not. I dare not". She shook her head. "But if that’s your story.” She added cheekily. "I thought you said you wouldn't bring this up again? You gave me your word." She said accusingly. "I'm curious." He said. "She looks exactly like me. Like I was cloned or something. Anyone with half a brain will think the same thing Ellie and wonde
Cesar stood in front of the floor to ceiling window overlooking the pool from his home office with a glass of whiskey in his hand. He watched as Antoinette Montalvo did lap after lap, her arms cutting through the water so easily that her actions appeared to be effortless then when she was done, she pulled herself out of the pool gracefully. She sent him a seductive smile when she caught him watching her and put on her robe. She'd asked him to skinny dip with her since the weather was a little hot but he'd declined and told her to go ahead and she'd not argued for fear of annoying him.Cesar turned away from the window and walked over to his desk and sat down. He dropped the glass of whiskey and picked up his phone. He scrolled through his contacts and settled on a number he never thought he’d call again and pressed the call button. The phone rang three times before someone picked up.“Boss.” The husky voice greeted.“I have a job for you. I need it done within three days.” Cesar inform
Antoinette’s eyes wandered from his muscular chest to one very aroused cock as he kicked his jeans and boxer briefs aside, leaving him completely naked. She licked her lips seductively wanting to touch him so bad but knew it was against the rules. No touching of any kind because he didn’t like it and he never told her why.“Cesar.." She breathed when he came on top of her.“Shh.” He lowered his head and kissed her stopping her from saying anything. His dominant embrace fueled the fire that was already smouldering, just like setting fire to gasoline.Cesar pulled her bottom lip into his mouth and bit it gently then released it as she moaned and granted him full access as she parted her lips and his tongue swept inside her mouth. His mouth expertly explored hers for what seemed like hours and then moved down her neck,to her collar bone and down to her breasts. He pinned her hands over her head and lowered his head to feast on her breasts. He laved over one of her nipples, the sensitive pe
“Annie?”. Her mother was surprised to see her at home. It was 1am on Saturday and she’d originally thought she’d stay over at Cesar’s house. It wasn't a normal occurrence but she had hoped that this time it would be different. She wanted the same thing her daughter wanted; for her to tie the knot with Cesari Sandoval and to keep all that wealth in the family.“Mom.” Annie sobbed and rushed to hug her mother. Monica Montalvo wondered what happened that her daughter was crying so hard as if she’d lost someone very dear to her.“What’s wrong Annie?”. Monica inquired and pulled back to look at her. "Did Cesar do something to upset you? did he..”“He doesn’t love me mother". Annie replied angrily, released her mother and walked over to sit down on the sofa. "After we.. fucked, I told him how I feel about him and he.." She hiccupped. "He broke up with me!”.“I’m very sorry dear." Monica went to sit beside her. "But you don’t have to be so upset because he doesn’t love you back my darling.
Months later “Cesar!”. Ellie screamed. "Cesar!”. Cesar rushed into the closet and stopped short when he saw Ellie holding her stomach and she was breathing heavily. He looked down at the floor and made a face. “Did you pee on yourself?”. He asked. “My water just broke idiot!". She snapped. "The baby’s coming!”. Cesar froze as he stared at her. “What?”. “Cesar!”. She screamed. Cesar jumped. “What do I do?”. “He’s asking me stupid questions!." She exclaimed through gritted teeth as she tried not to scream out. "Hospital!”. Cesar nodded and yelled for Maia to get the baby bag before he proceeded to lift Ellie up in his arms but he didn’t expect her to beat him up. “Hey!what now!”. He protested. "I'm taking you to the hospital." “I’m in my underwear idiot!." She gestured to her body. Cesar looked at her and bit his cheek to stop himself from laughing then he nodded and went to get her a dress. “I have to change first." Ellie said. “You’re cranky." He stated drily and went to
Cesar stood on the balcony just staring at nothing in particular. It was the last day of their stay in South Africa and they'd enjoyed every bit of it. Sun City was fun but they had to go back home and he had to go back to work.He and Ellie had gone for her check up today and everything was looking good but Ellie hadn't wanted to know the sex of the baby so he'd told the doctor to whisper it in his ear which made him smile like a Cheshire cat."You're not allowed to do that." Ellie had protested hitting him immediately they walked out of the office. "That's called cheating.""No it's not." He'd complained. "I have a right to know if I want to."She had huffed which made him smile. She went silent for a long time even as they got into the car and Warren drove away from the hospital so he turned to look at her."You're not mad, are you?". He asked. "I can unknow it if you want."That brought a half smile to her face. "Unknow it?there's no word like that." She scoffed. "No I'm not mad.
Tristan dreaded going back to the home he'd grown up in. He'd been treated worse than a slave. Spat on, abused and whatnot and he'd thought he'd never have to come back but here he was staring at the house whilst seated in the car. He'd been too excited to see Abby so he'd left his aunt Evie's house two hours earlier forgetting that Abby's school didn't let out until two pm and it was just one pm so he had to wait one hour before he could see her. His phone rang bringing him out of his thoughts and he took it out of his pocket, sighed then answered the call."Hey Gwen." He said. Ever since he started following her on Instagram and other media platforms, she somehow got her hands on his phone number and had been disturbing him since then. He liked her, she was a very nice girl and all that but he didn't want to get her hopes up continuing this charade. She was just eight years old so she had no business crushing on him or any boy for that matter."Hi! Are you busy?". She asked."Yea
The next day “Oh my God!". Ellie exclaimed suddenly as she stared at her iPad. She looked horrified and he wondered what she'd seen that could have made her look that way. “Are you okay?Is it the baby?”. Cesar asked. He hoped it wasn't the baby. They were still within the vicinity of the airport and a hospital surely wasn't nearby that they could take her to. "Talk to me." They were on their way to Evie’s from the airport and the kids were asleep. “No! Look." She thrust her iPad in front of him. "Cassandra Nash and her family are dead...all of them.” Cesar read the news article and felt no remorse whatsoever that Cassandra was dead. Infact he wanted to celebrate and shout from the rooftop that they were finally free. He still had enemies but they were ones who wouldn't dream of trying to hurt him and his family. Not if they valued their lives. “You’re not saying anything." Ellie spoke up when he kept staring at the news article and pictures. Cesar returned her iPad. “I have noth
A Week later“Sir...Dom has arrived.” David informed Cesar.“Finally! I thought he’d never get here." Cesar rolled his eyes. "Bring him here.” It had only been a week of waiting for the guy to finally get his butt here but it had felt like years and Cesar hated waiting for anyone. If not that he really needed the guy, he'd have just let him go. Find someone else to do the job.David nodded and left. Five minutes later he returned with Dominic.“Thank you David." Cesar waved him away. "Sit Dom.” He gestured to the chair in front of his desk. "I’ve been waiting for you.”“Why?”. Dom asked.“David didn’t tell you?”. Cesar arched a brow.Dom shrugged.Cesar picked up some pictures and passed it to Dom who took it and checked it out. The indifferent expression on his face turned stormy which surprised Cesar.“Cassandra Nash.” Dom spat.“Yes.” He nodded.“You know her?.” Dom asked.“Not personally." Cesar said. "I have scores to settle with her.”“She hurt you?”. Dom rumbled.“Tried to blow
Cesar was worried about Ellie because she'd refused to go out after that bombing incident. She also had nightmares about Cassandra trying to kill her and it didn't help that Tristan seemed to agree with her that the woman would stop at nothing until Ellie was dead. He didn't know why Cass was hell bent on seeing Ellie dead even after she found out the whole truth about how Belle tried to kill Miesa. Granted, Belle was her niece and she wouldn't want to see her hurt but better Belle being in a coma than Miesa dead. He tapped his finger against his chin in thought as he stared at the TV without really seeing it. It'd been a few weeks since the incident but it still seemed like it happened yesterday. People were still talking about it and he knew that more one television presenter wanted to interview him to talk about that particular incident but as usual he'd declined. They knew better than to ask for an interview but they did so anyway which annoyed him. Thankfully they didn't ambu
“Arya...calm down I’m fine." Cesar told her. "No, there’s no need to come over.” He didn't know why he'd unblocked her number but now he was wishing he hadn't. He'd been talking to her for almost ten minutes now and he felt a headache coming on.Arya kept rambling on the phone making Cesar sigh. She was clearly very worried and wouldn’t rest until she saw him. He didn't want her to come. She'd want to hug him and he wouldn't be able to stand it.“Mom!”. He cut her off.Arya went silent.“Thank you." He breathed. "I’m fine. I’ll send you a photo if you want proof.”“That’s fine." She said in a shaky voice. "I’m so glad you’re okay Cesar.”“Yeah.” He muttered. "Thanks for calling."“Can I send you ice cream? I know you like rocky road.”“Uh…okay". Cesar said. "Sure.”“Give me...ten minutes. Kisses.” She hung up.Cesar dropped his phone on his bedside table with a sigh.“You okay?I heard you yelling at someone.” Ellie walked into the bedroom.“I wasn’t yelling…per se." He said. "Arya wou
Cesar and Ellie took Miesa for her monthly checkup and they were very happy when the doctor told them that Miesa’s cancer was in remission but she’d need to continue maintenance therapy for a couple years until they were sure it wouldn’t come back. It was wonderful news for them especially Miesa who'd been worried she'd never get to live forever with her family.“I’m so happy mommy, daddy." Miesa smiled big at them as they walked out of the hospital. "I’m free!”.“Yes baby." Ellie smiled back. "I’m happy too.”Cesar’s phone rang as they got close to the waiting car. He took it out of his pocket and frowned when he saw Tristan’s name on the screen and picked it. Ellie and Miesa decided to go get ice cream while he talked on the phone.“Hey kid, what’s up?”. He asked.“Dad…please please tell me you’re not in the car right now?”. Tristan’s voice shook.“Uh...no. why?”. He frowned.“There’s a bomb. Don’t get…”As if on cue, there was a sudden explosion that threw Cesar off his feet and he
“How’s Elyon doing?”. Oliver asked Cesar. They were on FaceTime.“Fine. Thank God I got there the time I did or it’d have been a different story.” He said.“And the guys?”. Oliver inquired.“Dead.” Cesar replied flatly. He couldn't have let any one of them go free after what they did. It was not possible.Oliver’s eyes widened. “All of them?”.“Yes. Including...my dad.” Cesar said. Even now he still couldn't believe everything that had happened. That maniac had been his father who'd hurt his mother and his mother had hurt him because he looked like his father and then he killed his father because he'd kidnapped his wife and hurt his mother for the second time. Not that he gave a damn about Arya now… far from it. The damage she'd done to him was enough to last him two lifetimes.“What do you mean? I thought you said your father was dead?”. Oliver looked confused. "I didn't know a person…"“Oh that was just wishful thinking." He stated drily. "Arya told me something else.”“Wow. So you
