Bipasha went down the table with a gasp, Lily had her fingers daintily pressing on her lips, both were in shock because I just told them about how my meeting with Anastasia ended before anything was gotten save the horses and cars.
"Mr. Camaro? That guy barely ever smiles." Bipasha's eyes were wide. "I mean, the first time I saw him was at the Hamptons beach party on the fourth of July and that guy was brooding all through, the second time not any better. In fact I thought him incapable of smiling."
Lily though was shocked for a different reason, "How could they do that in public? Isn't that like rude?"
"Well, it is what it is and yes Choco, he had that silly lovesick expression on his face and Anastasia was practically glowing like a bulb was lit under her feet. There was so much chemistry I felt like an intruder. Damn."
Then Bipasha's brows began to dance silly as they always do when a silly question is about to voiced out loud. I'm dreading it.
"Did it make you feel the tingles?"
"Choco, wasn't me he kissed, it was his wife. How was I supposed to feel a thing?"
She rolled her eyes with a duh expression, "If it were you he kissed do you think you would still have a job in New York? Sugar you and all two of us would've been a dozen feet under the ground. Her family is shit rich, I hear some connection to the mafia or something."
Lily groaned, "Those books are getting way into your head and when did you ever start believing in rumors?"
When did she never?
"When did I never believe in rumors? I live for them!" Bipasha exclaimed, a devilish grin on her lips.
See, my friends and I are kindred spirits.
"Anyways, did you not feel anything at all?" Lily asked.
"Lillian Harper what the hell? How can you be on Bipasha's side?"
"Well, it's natural to feel something even if you weren't on the receiving side of the petting, I wish you were though." Lily chirped.
I imagined strangling her in my head then fantasized about subjecting Bipasha to the same torture.
In high school we gave each other names, Bipasha was Choco, Lily Lolly and of course I am Sugar. I named Bipasha, Lily named me and Bipasha named Lily Lolly for God knows what reason. We ended up agreeing on Lily as Buttercup instead but then decided against it because it was way longer than her actual name. So her nickname didn't stick but mine and Choco's did. It comes and goes.
"Guys I felt nothing. Truly." I raised my hands up in mock surrender as they stared like I just told them I killed someone.
"Any normal person would have. We need to do something about Kyra's situation don't you think Choco? How long since you've been on a date?" Lily asked like she was an angel while I knew all shades of the pale skinned beauty. She could be the very devil if she wanted to.
"No." Bipasha and I exclaimed at the same time.
Why thank you Choco.
"Sugar here doesn't need a date, she's too cynical to be set up with a man who will end up not being enough for her. Remember how her last date ended? Horrible! What Kyra needs is to get laid. She's too stuck-up, too rigid, soon she'll be sporting wrinkles and her laugh lines will be more pronounced and her shoulders will slump. Look at that Lily darling."
The two imps I call my friends stared at me like I was an experiment under a scientist's microscope.
Fuckers.
"I'm here and I'm alive, I know what I need and it's a romantic beauty sleep on my bed. See you devils tomorrow." I rose from the plush cushion I was draped on only to be pushed back by Lily.
On the eyes she looks fragile, she's anything but that though. Don’t let her looks deceive you, she works out way more than I and Bipasha ever do.
"You're going no where young lady. Choco wants to know when last you got laid and I want to know the last date you went on." She had the commanding voice of a military man.
"You both know the last date I went on and how tragic it ended. I don't want a repeat of that and trust me by next week you'll get a new report about my last lay because he's in the future and I cannot say how it will end up. I'm just feeling like ditching the event already." I sassed.
My friends though looked like a bulb was lit over their heads and I dreaded their next course of action and words. Having those two teaming and ganging up against you is a feat to be reckoned with.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Bipasha asked Lily with a grin.
The latter nodded vigorously and the two began dancing. So unlike regular 26 year old grownups.
"We're gonna party!" They exclaimed, squealed and bumped hips.
Careful there Lily.
"I don't do parties."
Bipasha took her phone and dialled something definitely silly "Hello 911, Kyra's run mad."
"She and her friends, 911." I deadpan.
Lily groaned, "Seriously Kyra when did your life turn this boring? It's way too boring for a simpy miss like myself. You used to be the life of all of our high school parties."
"I was young then." The response came in tandem with her words.
Bipasha cooed at me, "You must be turning eighty tonight Sugar. I heard your knee cap's dislocated, where does it hurt most? Grandma dry panties." She dared to laugh at her own words. Such a dry joke.
"Okay okay fine. But I don't have clothes for one of your parties. Define party." I cocked my head to the side wanting to know what type of party they meant.
Lily cleared her throat. "There's this bar that opened recently. I know one of the patrons. Word says it's literally where the wallstreet sharks go to for respite."
"Since when did you start knowing those patrons? Isn't that my thing? You're the cute virginal butterfly who.."
"Oh please! We know better." I cut Bipasha mid-sentence.
"Whatever," Lily rolled her eyes at our antics, "You wanna go or not because I’m definitely in with or without you boring bitches.”
That was a dare and neither of us back down on dares.
Oh it’s definitely on.
The girls and I went shopping, we have every intention of dressing to impress because according to Bipasha we’re reeling in the wallstreet sharks and going to get frickin’ laid. The hot ones specifically.
I let my walls shatter when the shopping got real. Who doesn’t like the fun in shopping and trying out new dresses? No one.
“You’re hurting my eyes, change out of that please!” Bipasha groaned at Lily’s yellow body fitting dress.
Lily’s bark of laughter made me drop the peach dress I was holding.
“Harper get yourself something navy blue or crimson please, we can’t have you wearing a dress that’s the same color as your hair. What the hell?” Bipasha huffed and disappeared into a changing room.
She walked out in an army green off the shoulder dress with a demarcation between the chest area to her hips, her belly was showing and only a few strips held the open area together. It stopped mid-thigh and looked smoking hot on her. She has a total hourglass figure that makes the guys drool.
My babe’s gonna cause some trouble in that dress.
“You look hot.” Lily exclaimed with a smolder.
Bipasha did a twirl, curtsied and twerked a bit into the mirror.
I rolled my eyes and caught the white dress she hurled my way.
Seriously? White?
I tried it on and pursed my lips at how much I gave it little credit before trying it on.
What I lack in the chest area I made up for it on my ass and the dress did wonders to it. It went down my thighs only stopping right above the knee, its sleeves were elbow length and it dipped a few inches down my chest showing a hint of what’s hidden. Okay more than a hint. It showed what I on a normal day won’t be comfortable parading in. But there’s nothing normal about my friends and I so it’s perfect.
It hugged me like a second skin and I knew there was no way in hell I was leaving without it.
The girls ooed at my dress and we all gawked at Lillian’s dress choice. She chose a very very short navy romper with tiny silver dots, its sleeves were thin and cinched at the waist area.
“We are gonna slay some hearts yo!” Bipasha’s squeal had the woman nearest to us throwing her a glare. She got three glares in return cause no one messes with one of us and gets away unscathed.
We picked shoes, a few accessories and left with huge bags and very very huge smiles.
Friday night we met up in Bipasha’s apartment. She’s the makeup enthusiast and got dressed.
After getting my nude makeup done I slipped into a pair of baby pink open toe stiletto strappy high heels.
Bipasha painted her lips a sultry shade of red, slipped into a pair of red 5-inch heels and Lillian the tallest in our group wore shorter heels that made her legs looked like they went on for miles.
We all three wore nice jackets over our dresses and left in a cab.
Thanks to Lily's connection we got into the VIP where it was less crowdy. The song playing there was much slower than the one playing in the main hall. The lights were dim and there was a lot of privacy for who wanted it.
Bipasha left to dance after a drink or two while Lily disappeared to God knows where.
Alone, I made my way to the bar for a drink while thoughts of Nicholas’s party roamed rent free in my head. I couldn’t wait to make a decision on what exactly the theme should be. I know tonight is a night we’re all supposed to let go of our every worries and have fun. Bipasha told me specifically to do more than what she would do which is a cause for alarm. She’s wild, I’m not judging.
I twirled the glass of water in my hand picturing what goes best, a ranch themed party with actual horses and birthday cakes with cars on it, have the decorations in blue or a blue themed party then have horse and car racing games for the birthday boy and his friends?
With a huff I settled the glass down and drummed my perfectly painted nails over the table. I caught Bipasha at the corner of my eyes flirting with a man. Her eyes were all sultry and she had a finger in her hair which is a sure sign that she’s flirting. We read each other too much to not know what the other means in her every move.
Impressive. She seems to have reeled a lucky guy in while I’m still stuck with thoughts of Nicholas who’s probably in bed dreaming of whatever boys his age dream of.
Isn't that just amazing?
The hairs at the back of my neck rose as a man took the seat beside me despite the other chairs being unoccupied. There was the cologne as well as the nice scent of a hot male. I didn’t dare to look though. Wordlessly the bartender kept an empty glass over to the nice smelling stranger and started pouring something right into it. I looked up, the way I was taught to admire a person’s features without them knowing as Lillian Harper taught me. I shouldn’t be caught looking unless in one particular situation; if the person being admired is smokin’ hot there’s no term that describes their attractiveness. Well, stranger here has a slightly crooked nose like it got broken in a fight, his perfectly defined jaw could cut glass. Fuck his side view is perfection itself. Then he turned and subjected me to a stare. A wordless stare filled with so many words. All I could do was stare back at the adonis who stared at me as though he had the right to look his fill.I panicked like a deer caught i

After the birthday party I took a two-day break from the whole world. SINI twirled the stem of my glass once, tossed the contents down my throat in one gulp and dropped it at the nearest waiter’s serving tray. My sole intent was to be introduced to the woman who flipped my world upside down. I evaded anyone who looked like they wanted to approach me by steering clear of their way. With soundless steps I approached the couple and my sister who were obviously having a casual chat from behind. That dress. Kyra. After Sin, or the Nicholai Ivanov left I tried to calm my racing heart, it was beating erratically. It was obvious that he was a man to be reckoned with when we met but I had no idea I would find myself in his lair after the length I went to, to see that our weekend fling stayed as what it was, as a weekend thing. There was a predatory gleam in his eyes that made me believe it wasn’t the last I was seeing of him tonight. Maybe that was why I felt his eyes on me even after he left. But, I didn’t let that stop me from enjoying myself. Logan left me a few minutes ago to catch up with my friends after he introduced me to his. Right now Bipasha and Lily were telling me about what made them late bla bla bla. “Don’t look behind you but Logan can’t keep his eyes off you, don’t mess this up this time, please.” Bipasha pleaded looking pleased at herself for being the one who linked us up. If only you knew how messed up it could get. “You can look now,” Lily advised with a chuckle, s

Kyra went through her plans for the day, they were worth nothing in an average workaholic’s schedule but to her everything was perfect just the way she liked it. In fact, she felt enlivened as though she had the day literally off for herself. She could take a trip to the theater and watch the movie she's been aching to see ever since it was released, or better yet, she could take herself out and spoil herself at the restaurant that was opened just recently in Upper West Side, Manhattan. It seemed to be the talk of the town and as an event planner she deemed it necessary to exploit all recreational areas not just for the fun of it but for the sake of her job and meeting up to people's standards. At least that was what she dubbed it as. Go to the movies, alone.Or the restaurant, alone.Drive home, alone.Go to bed, alone. Her life sucked and it was that pathetic. She couldn't remember the last time she went on a date. Scratch that, she didn't want to remember the last time she went on
