★Sarah★★
I sat in the corridor with my CV amongst 6 other applicants who were waiting to be called for the job.
King Enterprises. I had seen the advert for a PA in one of the ads online.
I didn't waste time in applying because I hated my present job. Working in that damned coffee house was the bane of my existence.
With a perverted boss who couldn't keep his hands to himself, and work colleagues who couldn't keep their hands off each other, working there wasn't the easiest.
Besides, I actually needed a better job. I had been the one paying all my brother's hospital bills. Those weren't cheap, at all. The pay at the coffee house wasn't a lot and i often had to work over time every day of the week, and was paid even less for it.
I really hoped I got this job. I know the pay would be good.
“Sarah Willing, Please come in." A man came out of the office and said.
I stood up and walked into the office. I had expected to be interviewed by just one person, but as I walked into the room, I was stunned to see a panel of 5 people sitting at the table.
I tried not to show my shock. I just gathered myself and sat down on the chair that was across from them.
“Good morning, Miss Willing." The man in the middle started.
“Good morning, sir." I replied.
“So, we've taken a look at the copy of your CV which you've sent, and I must say, we are surprised. A Masters degree holder at 25! Really interesting to see. At least, we know the zeal for education among young people isn't dead." He said.
“Thank you sir. When I finished college, I didn't see the need to wait. So I applied for a Masters Degree Program and just ran it through." I said proudly.
“So, you know the job description, I believe. A personal secretary. Why do you think you can do this job? Your degree is nothing close to what this job is all about." He said.
“Sir, a degree in English may have nothing to do with this job, however I am willing to learn on the job. Also, I am a very organized and exposed woman. I try my best to be on time with everything I do. So I believe it won't be a bad idea if you try my skills out. I assure you, you'll be amazed." I finished with a smile reassuring smile I think was trying to reassure myself more than the interviewers.
The office remained quiet after I finished talking. He just looked at me and said,
“Give us a minute."
He started talking in hushed tones with the other people at the table. They passed some papers to each other and the finally, he looked up at me and said,
“Thank you, Miss Willing. We promise to get back to you on our decision."
“Thank you sir" I said and leaving the office, I let out a sigh.
I walked to the elevator. I was so hungry. Because I was thinking about food, I didn't look at who was walking in front of me and I bumped into someone.
That snapped me out of my dreams and I held my forehead in pain.
“Can't you watch where you're going?" A very deep voice said.
I opened my eyes with a frown on my face. The moment I saw who was in front of me, the sarcastic comeback that was at the tip of my tongue and the frown on my face all disappeared.
Standing before me was a beautiful man. He had very black and his eyes were dark. A beard and moustache covered a good part of his face and his small lips were barely noticeable. He also wore a frown on his face which also made him very handsome. The three piece suit he wore accentuated his muscular build.
“Great, so you're dumb in every way." He said with an eye roll.
That comment alone was enough to make me snap out of whatever sexual dream i was already imagining myself with this hot piece and remember what I wanted to say to this rude person.
“Well, not every sane person stops walking in the middle of the way when he knows there are people behind him." I shot back.
He just scoffed and asked,
“Do you know who you're talking to?"
I didn't think my replies through. I wish I had. Instead, I just said,
“Clearly, a man with no regard or consideration for other people and their feelings. People like you shouldn't be left to roam the streets. Transland Psychiatrist Hospital is taking early admissions. I won't mind taking a moment from my very busy schedule to sign you up. I'll do anything for the less privileged. " I finished with a smile.
As I finished saying that, I brushed past him and went into the elevator. I hit the close button quickly so he won't come in after me. He didn't.
I just left him standing in the spot.
I hurriedly walked out of the building, already salivating at the thought of the hamburger I was going to eat. I loved food so much.
I walked to the McDonald's just across the street and ordered my food. As soon as I got it, I dug into it like a mad man. I finished it so quickly and I was satisfied.
Just then a call came in and I picked up my phone to see a call from my best friend, Sam.
“Hey babe, what's up?" I chirped
“How're you? How'd the interview go?" She asked.
Sam was always looking out for me.
“Well, to the best of my knowledge, I did okay."
“You didn't give any sarcastic remarks, right?" she said with an expectant tone in her voice.
“Can I go a day without giving those? People annoy me. What do you expect?" I defended.
“What happened this time?"
I told her the run down of everything that happened with that guy. She kept quiet for some seconds and said,
“So he's really fine?"
“Is that the only thing you got from what I said. Someone just called your best friend dumb."
“Oh well, you are for just staring at him and not jumping his bones when you had the chance to. Tell me, how fine is he? Scale of 1-10"
I sighed and said,
“10. But he's still an ass."
“ An ass who's ass you'd like a taste of. Oh well, they can't have a good face and a nice attitude."
We talked for a few more minutes and ended the call. I paid for my food and walked out into the busy street.
I needed to go see my brother at the hospital. When I got my pay for the month at the coffee house, I'll go. My payments were long over due and I missed my brother.
I made a mental note to buy him chocolates since he liked those very much, as I walked down the street to my apartment.

However, that gratitude disappeared when I saw the dress that she brought out from the bag. “Sam, I'm going to work. Not a club." The dress was a short, body con leather dress, with an off the shoulder neck. The stupid smile on her face made me so confused.“Exactly, you're going to work. If you wear this and your boss sees you, maybe he'll take you to the club and from there, he'll take you home." I have her a very dull look. “You need help. Seriously." Sarah It took everything in me to walk into the company that windy Wednesday morning. I'd woken up earlier than expected and sat on my bed, thinking of how today was going to turn out. I mean, he hadn't fired me but that didn't excuse the fact that he sent me out of the company. I was so embarrassed and it was all his fault. There was absolutely no reason for him to be mad at me even though I almost killed him. I just hoped something happened and he found a reason not to come to work today.
