Third Person's Point of View
Yumi angrily turned off her phone due to the flood of calls and messages from people close to her. "Oh? Why did you turn it off? Why don’t you face them and ask your best friend instead of taking your anger out on me!" Gabrielle, the man with her, said pointedly. Instead of replying, she just sneered. She didn't know what to say; she wasn't sure if she should believe him, but she knew deep down that the man in front of her had no reason to lie. "I'm tired. Can you take me to the nearest hotel?" Yumi asked weakly. "No." "What do you want? Should I sleep here in your car? Can't you see I’m not comfortable in my dress and position? Why don’t you just drive? Okay, fine, forget it! You stay here; I'll walk to the hotel! Jeez, you're so difficult to talk to." Yumi was about to get out of the car when Gabrielle grabbed her hand. "Are you really not thinking? Do you see yourself as an ordinary person? Haven’t you considered that if one person sees you out there, you'll be trending and talked about online? I saved you from embarrassment, and now you're putting yourself in danger. If that's what you want, then go ahead and leave, but don’t come back. Do whatever you want; who am I to help you!" Gabrielle let go of her hand angrily. Yumi didn't insist on leaving. She realized he was right, so she leaned back and massaged her temples. She didn’t know what to feel anymore—whom to blame or whom to be angry at. Gabrielle was quietly thinking. He knew it would cause a huge mess if his family found out he had taken his brother's fiancée. He wasn’t sure why he did it, but he knew he didn’t want her to be humiliated and deeply hurt if she witnessed what was happening at the engagement party with Jerome and Yumi. Ever since Gabrielle found out about the foolishness and betrayal of Yumi's best friend and his brother, he felt obliged to protect her. Something inside him told him to shield her from the harm that Yumi's beloved might cause. Gabrielle shook his head when he saw that Yumi had fallen asleep. At first, Yumi was furious when Gabrielle carried her like a sack of rice. When Yumi saw the viral video of her and Gabrielle, her anger doubled. Gabrielle just calmed her down and let her cry. He saw the pain she was feeling. She kept saying that she and Jerome couldn’t break up, that Jerome was the one she was supposed to marry. Yumi woke up on a soft bed, looking around and noticing she wasn’t in her own room. While figuring out where she was, she suddenly remembered everything. She cried, realizing she had lost her parents for the second time. More than that, she thought about losing her boyfriend, the man she thought she would be with forever. Gabrielle rushed in when he heard Yumi scream. "W-what happened to you?" "You! It’s all your fault. If you hadn't been with me that night, Jerome wouldn’t have broken up with me. Why were you in that room, and why did you take advantage of me?!" Yumi shouted, pointing at him with tears in her eyes. "Hold on! Why are you mad at me? I didn’t even know it was you I was kissing that night! Didn’t you see the video? You came into the room to kiss me. So if anything happened between us, I’m sure you wanted it!" Gabrielle shouted back. He didn’t intend to say all that, but Yumi had gone too far. Gabrielle was frustrated that Yumi couldn’t think straight and instead was looking for someone to blame. He wondered why it hadn’t crossed Yumi’s mind that they might have been drugged to do such a thing and that they were both victims of the situation. "No! I couldn’t have done that. I wouldn’t betray Jerome. I love him so much," Yumi tearfully argued back. "Calm down. Don’t let your emotions take over because that’s why you’re blind to what’s happening around you. Don’t trust what you see too much!" Gabrielle scolded Yumi like a child. "Here, get up and fix yourself. Nothing will change if you just cry. Let’s go out to eat and talk properly." Gabrielle was right. Yumi was very obedient and naive. Her parents raised her to follow orders without question. Yumi was so naive. Yumi shyly came out of the room. "How are you? Does it fit?" Gabrielle started. Yumi was embarrassed, tugging at the dress that was too short, ending above her knees. "It’s fine! It looks good on you. Don’t think about your problems for now. Eat first." Gabrielle pulled out a chair for her. Yumi looked puzzled but had no one else to turn to. The public eye was hot on her, especially those in the news industry. She knew they would ask her for a statement. "Call your manager after you eat. Tell them you're fine and not to worry. Say you’re taking a vacation. We need to work together to find out what happened that night. You need to do a drug test!"Eumerriah's Point of View"What?! Is what you're saying true?" my manager asked repeatedly.I told her everything Gabrielle had said to me. Even though I didn't want to believe it, something inside me told me there was some truth to what he said."Okay, I'll call someone I know to discreetly conduct a drug test on you. I'll call you when you can come in. Be careful wherever you are; don't show yourself to anyone just yet." I could sense the panic in my manager, Kim. I also told her not to tell anyone else, not even my best friend. I knew she was curious, but I couldn't explain everything to her just yet because I wasn't sure myself."What? Do I need to take you back to Manila?" Gabrielle suddenly appeared."Huh? Why, where are we?" I looked out the window and saw only the sea, trees, and grass. "Where are we?" I asked, puzzled."We're at a resort I own. It hasn't opened yet, so there aren't any people around. I couldn't think of a safer place to bring you. You're too hot a topic in Ma
### Eumerriah's Point of View"Kateee!" yelled the annoying man who always seems to disrupt my life. He was calling for Kate, who I was talking to at the moment. When he got close, he pulled Kate behind him. "Don’t hang out with her. You might pick up her bad habits.""Are you two having a lover's quarrel?" Kate asked, grinning.I couldn’t take his insults any longer. I had only said something to him once, but he had insulted me twice already. The nerve! I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and was about to leave when I remembered to say goodbye to Kate. "Nice to know you, Kate. Let’s bond another time when this pest isn't around." I waved at her and continued walking. I didn’t know where I was going, but I thought I should check if Manager Kim had called. I had forgotten that I had somewhere to be."See you again, Ate Yumi!" Kate called out.I didn’t look back and just walked towards the hut or house or whatever you call it."This is so boring," I commented as I climbed up. I immedia
Eumerriah's Point of View"Ateeee," Kate called out to me, trying to be cute."Ateee, you're coming back, right?" she kept asking repeatedly."Yes, she is, Kate. She's coming back because I'm not leaving her there alone. Now, go on, Grandma might be looking for you," Gabrielle shooed Kate away.Kate had been trying to act cute, thinking I wouldn’t come back. Gabrielle had grabbed some of Kate’s clothes for me to wear, even though they were a bit small. I was now wearing an unbranded long sleeve shirt, far from the fabrics I used to wear. I also had on loose but short jogging pants. I was slightly taller than Kate, but Gabrielle was still taller than me.I was now sitting in the passenger seat while Gabrielle adjusted his seatbelt. "Can I ask you something?" I suddenly got curious about why Gabrielle was helping me. I didn’t know him well, and he didn’t know me either."You're already asking," he replied sarcastically. I didn’t know when I’d have a proper conversation with him. He alw
Eumerriahäs Point of ViewPositiive!!Sure!I am pregnant. After our check-up for a drug test and my pregnancy test came back positive, we immediately sought a second opinion. Gabrielle and Manager Kim also found a trustworthy OB-GYN. Given my current condition, it's difficult for the public to know. Even though my reputation is already damaged, that's not a valid reason for me to ruin the name of someone I once loved. I'm sure he would be implicated if this went public."Hi, friend! How are you doing here? Is the management of this small clinic going well?" Manager Kim greeted when he arrived at the clinic of someone he knew."This is all I could establish after my fame faded!" she jokingly replied."Really? Anyway, you know her already, Eumerriah-""Yes, the best Eumerriah Ferrer. You know, I am such a fan of yours. If I were as talented as you were in your youth, I might have been linked to various men. You're also kind; you were only linked to one man. I even thought your relation
**Eumerriah's Point of View**I woke up with a headache. It felt like I had been sleeping for a very long time. I was about to get up when I realized I wasn’t in my own room. I was in a room with white surroundings and some apparatuses. I tried to lift my hand but felt it being held by someone, so I looked over. I felt a surge of joy when I saw his face.“J-Jerome?” I whispered, touching his face with my left hand, even though I could barely reach. Despite everything I had learned, my feelings for him wouldn’t change that easily.I felt him move, so I pretended to be asleep. I heard the chair move, indicating he had stood up, and his grip on my hand loosened. He yawned before I heard water being poured into a glass, so I couldn’t help but open my eyes and sit up. “I’m thirsty too,” I said.“Oh? It’s good that you’re awake now. How are you feeling?” I saw Gabrielle’s face. My head spun as I looked around for Jerome. Where was Jerome? He was with me just a moment ago.“Where’s Jerome?”
**Eumerriah's Point of View**"Yumii!!" Gabrielle shouted as he approached me. I pretended to be weak to keep him from leaving. I didn't know why I did it, but I thought he might hurt Jerome if I let him out of the room."What's wrong? Are you dizzy? How are you feeling?" he asked rapidly, helping me sit on the sofa."Oh, water! I don't know who told them you were here. I think they had me followed. I can't understand what's going through their heads to do that. I'm more convinced they've been deceiving you for a long time. Did you see how concerned he was for Shaira earlier? Ugh, I hope they never have kids for what they've done!" I just watched while drinking water Manager Kim handed me. I wanted to join his rant, but I felt like I had no energy left."How are you? Are you okay now?" Gabrielle asked."Hey! Guy! Is what that woman said true? You planned all this because you've liked Yumi for a long time, huh? Let's clear this up!" Manager Kim asked, hands on his hips.Gabrielle took
Eumerriah’s Point of ViewI spent three days in the hospital. They said there was no problem with the baby in my womb. Spotting is normal for pregnant women, especially in the first three to four months, especially if they are stressed. In those three days, none of my parents visited me. I know they have disowned me, but I didn’t expect them to completely ignore me. Jerome and Shaira haven’t returned since the first day. There were no articles about my stay in the hospital. I’m still a hot topic among people, especially the media, as many are still calling my manager for a statement. I’ve read many comments suggesting that this is just a marketing strategy to get people talking about me and Jerome. I wish that were the case so that I wouldn’t be struggling right now.I know I have enough savings to raise the child in my womb, but I’m not ready for this. I still need guidance from my own mother, but she’s no longer here; she was taken by the Lord long ago. My other mom, who has been wi
R|18 Shaira’s Point of View“What do they know?” I snapped at Jerome. He had accompanied me home.“I don’t know. I didn’t understand him either earlier. I just went there because Gabrielle texted me,” he answered innocently. I was surprised why his brother texted him. “And why did he text you? Was this planned by both of you?” I couldn’t help but think about it, especially knowing Jerome's manipulative tendencies. I know he always wants to be ahead of everyone else.“No way! I wouldn’t side with my rival!” he defended. I know he hasn’t been on good terms with Gabrielle for a long time, even since they were kids.“Don’t think like that. You’re too stressed. Gabrielle texted me because he said you can’t see Yumi! He didn’t say why, but I’m sure they know something. That’s why I went immediately because I didn’t want anything to happen to our baby because of her; I might end up killing her,” Jerome added. I was touched by what he said. I felt like he truly loved us and our baby.“You sa
15 Years AgoEumerriah's Point of View“Marry Jerome!” Daddy yelled, his gaze piercing through me.I took a deep breath before answering. “But Dad, you know I can’t go back to him anymore.”“Why? Because of his brother? Do you realize you’re putting Gabrielle in danger?” His voice carried weight, and each word felt like a blow.I stared at him, utterly confused. “What do you mean?”Mommy hesitated, grabbing Daddy’s arm suddenly. “Dear, please don’t tell Yumi about this,” she pleaded, her voice tinged with worry. But Daddy stood firm, unmoved. “No, she needs to know so she can wake up to reality. She had the nerve to get pregnant by that man.”I swallowed hard, the anxiety in my chest growing heavier. “What exactly are you talking about?”Daddy stepped closer, his expression cold. “They’re capable of killing Gabrielle just to make sure you two don’t end up together.”The words hit me like a thunderclap. “What? They wouldn’t do that to their own son!”He shook his head, his eyes filled
Eumerriah's Point of ViewFor so long, Gabrielle and I had been at odds. I couldn't understand why he needed to distance himself from us. All the truths had come out—their marriage to Kristine and how his life had unfolded with Paul. He regretted his choices, and even Paul seemed to notice his mistakes."You really don’t understand me," Gabrielle said, frustration lacing his voice."Then explain it to me!" I shot back, unable to hold back any longer."Okay, let me ask you this. Why did you choose to distance yourself and hide, huh? Fifteen years! Fifteen years I haven't seen or been with my child, and then I find out he's legally Shaira’s child! How do you explain that to me, huh?" he questioned, filled with anger and disappointment."Listen to me!" I said, barely able to contain the pain in my voice. "Shaira lost her child because of your marriage! What do you think I should do? Of course, I thought about our child's safety. If I hadn’t done that, we might not have a child anymore. S
Eumerriah's Point of View“Where is he?” I asked Kate, my curiosity evident.“If you want to know, follow me,” she replied, getting into her car. I nodded, but instead of driving my own car, I hurried into the passenger seat of hers. She furrowed her brow and gave me a questioning look. “Why are you too lazy to drive?” she asked, a hint of irritation in her voice.“I just want to ride in the car of the girl who used to really like me,” I said, trying to make a joke to lighten the tension.“Tsk! If it weren’t for Kuya Gabrielle, I wouldn’t like you,” she retorted, but a playful smile was on her lips.“What do you mean?” I asked, a bit confused, but I knew she was hiding something.“Secret,” she replied, laughing as she drove.I looked out the window, but I couldn’t help smiling. I never thought that the cheerful little girl who used to cling to me, who liked me so much, would turn into a woman who was now even more assertive in front of me.Behind her teasing and boldness, I was please
"Eumerriah!" Kate called out to me, her voice filled with concern.I turned to face her and saw the serious expression on her face."Do you still think about him?" she asked, her voice full of worry. "Do you ever wonder how he’s doing?"I stood silently, trying to block out the people around us. A heaviness settled over me. I thought of Gabrielle. Despite everything that happened, he still held a place in my heart, but I didn’t know how to face him now."What are you trying to say?" I asked, struggling to hide my emotions."I just wanted you to know," Kate began, her voice serious, "that even back then, he struggled with the thought of losing you like that. And now that you’ve suddenly come back, he feels like he failed you, like he didn’t even try to look for you."As I absorbed her words, it felt like a sharp pain erupted in my chest. I could feel Gabrielle’s anguish over the years I was gone, but I couldn’t ignore how he had avoided me and chosen someone else during those times. We
"Another movie you slay!" Shaira greeted, hugging me tightly."My mom is really amazing," Justine complimented. He was now dressed like a young man, his hair neatly styled, and his suit covering his whole body. He looked at me with great admiration, as if he had learned all these things from me."You always look pretty, Mommy," said Dustine, who, despite being young, had simple words that could warm my heart. He smiled at me, his eyes full of happiness and love."Beautiful and endlessly talented," Jayson praised, standing beside me, his eyes full of respect. We had just finished the premiere night of one of our most successful movies with Jerome. The story was filled with emotion, and I never imagined it would turn out like this. After weeks of hard work and exhaustion, this moment brought joy and success to us.We were in the middle of guests, media, and fans who were all celebrating our achievement. Cameras kept flashing, capturing our photos, but my eyes wandered to the loved ones
Eumerriah's Point of ViewFor six months, everything was in order. No fights, no drama, even though I worked closely with Jerome more often now."Is it still him?" Jerome asked."What’s it to you?" I replied, my tone sharp. It was as if he didn’t care about what happened in the past, like he wasn’t the man I once went crazy for."If you had just kept being crazy about me, maybe I could have learned to love you," I teased."Whatever you say," he responded, seemingly indifferent."You’ve become so tough now, like you weren’t once crazy over me," I pressed."It’s been 17 years, and still? Haven’t you moved on? You couldn’t even fight for my best friend, the first man you loved. So why would I expect you to fight for me, when you just used me?" His words stung."It wasn’t my fault my family couldn’t accept him.""It’s your fault you led him on and didn’t truly love him.""And what do you know about real love?""Well, what about you? What do you know? We’re not kids anymore. If you think y
Eumerriah's Point of ViewThree months have passed since Gabrielle’s sudden disappearance, and no one has heard any news from him. Everyone is worried—even Kristine and Kimberly are confused about what’s happening. I don’t know how to tell them that even I have no idea where he is or when he’ll return.Despite everything, Shaira and I have slowly resumed our daily lives. I continue to work for our family, while Shaira stays home to handle the household chores and take care of Justine. The days have flowed smoothly, but the weight of unanswered questions remains ever-present."Has there still been no word from Gabrielle?" Shaira asked as she arranged Dustine's toys on the floor.I shook my head, feeling the sadness settle in my chest. "Even Kristine has been asking me. She said things are chaotic at their company because of his sudden disappearance. Some employees have also asked me if I know anything, but I have nothing to tell them."Shaira paused and sat down beside me. "Anyone woul
Eumerriah's Point of ViewJustine has recovered from his illness, and despite everything that has happened, I am deeply grateful to Gabrielle. His support for us is something I will never forget. However, after our meeting and discovering that his close friend Paul is Kimberly’s real father, it was as if a heavy burden was lifted from him, but I still cannot fully explain what he's truly feeling. It's been two weeks since I learned the truth, but I haven't heard from Gabrielle since. He’s disappeared, and no matter what I do, I can’t find him. His absence feels like a new torment added to my trials.Amid all this, Jayson has been visiting our house more often. Justine refuses to be bathed by anyone else, so we chose not to hire a personal nurse. Sometimes, I see Jayson hiding his true emotions, trying to act like everything is normal, but I know it’s not easy for him.Because of what happened, I had to change my plans. I no longer accepted new jobs and instead started working from hom
Gabrielle's Point of ViewI don’t know how I managed to leave everything behind. Sometimes, it feels like all of this is just a dream—the life I left, the family I destroyed. We built a family together, a family I once dreamed would be happy and whole until the end. But now, that’s gone. And it's my fault. It all started when Eumerriah came back into my life. I never expected to see her again, never thought I’d feel the emotions I had long buried. I thought everything between us was over. I thought I could forget her and move on with my life with Kristine and Kimberly. But when I saw Eumerriah, all those feelings suddenly came rushing back—feelings I never thought would resurface. That’s when my confusion began. I no longer knew what was real or what should be.
