I looked at Katherine as she tries hard for me not to see her cry but it looks like her Mom’s death is the only soft spot she has.

“When did she pass away?” I asked, trying to sound sympathetic.

“You don’t have to sound sympathetic. I don’t need your pity,” she said and I scoffed.

“Of course you don’t, but I wasn’t sympathetic towards you but your Mom,” I stated flatly. “You didn’t answer my question, when did your Mom pass away?”

She looked up and stared at me for a while, “a year before you came into Jacob’s life,” her voice sounded so arrogant. “How is he by the way?” she asked, trying to taunt me. “oh that’s right even after putting me away, you two still couldn’t get together,” I smiled at her words and flipped my hair backwards.

“Were you ever asked to take over your Mom’s position?” I asked, looking straight in her eyes in order to know if she would tell the truth.

“Yes, they did and I started to feel the effect like my Mom did and I wanted out,” she uttered plainly.
