Xavion

.

The strong wind blew her golden brown curly hair onto my face as she opened the door. I couldn't help but notice her beautiful and unique scent, something that only a woman can possess.

Although I dislike strong perfumes, Quinn's scent has left a lasting impression on me. Even when my eyes are closed, I can still detect her fragrance.

Every day, as she passed by, I would secretly steal glances at her. Her smile had a way of brightening up my day, and her laughter was like a symphony to my ears. Without a doubt, she was one of the most stunning girls on campus, and her family background had earned her quite a reputation.

"Aren't you sick of watching her from this far?" Hendrix said behind me. And now, the two of us secretly look at her from this distance.

Her familiar friends surround her. The usual ones that I see every day.

"Aren't you going to introduce yourself to her? If you have an interest in her, Xav, it may be worthwhile to introduce yourself. Remember, you are just as valuable as anyone else, regardless of their family background." He said and stood before me, making me unable to see Quinn's face.

"Go ahead and be a man. Do you need me to assist you?" he offered.

I shook my head and took a deep breath. "No thanks, man. It's not really my thing," I fibbed.

As I was about to leave, my attention was drawn back to her upon noticing Dominic Montadamme approaching her direction.

"I see. Now it makes sense," he said, looking in the same direction as me.

"Don't worry about Dominic, Xav. He's just a bad guy from a low-class mafia family. There's no need to be afraid of him." He laughed.

"I have no interest in getting involved and prefer to avoid trouble. I really don't want my father to go through the trouble of transferring me to another university or, even worse, sending me to the other side of the world."

"Sure," he replied while giving my shoulder a friendly pat. "It's great to have you here in Dalton. It's a relief to be away from our chaotic families." He chuckled.

Upon noticing Dominic's arms wrapped around Quinn, I quickly averted my gaze. Though he had spotted us from a distance, I chose not to acknowledge his presence and turned my focus elsewhere.

ONE time it was raining heavily. I decided to wait until the rain stopped. I looked around while sitting inside my car. Most of the students got wet, but soon enough, they found shelter.

As I looked around, I spotted Quinn standing near the mini-food shop. A few students were with her, but gradually, they all left, leaving Quinn standing alone. From what I can see, it appears that she is awaiting the arrival of the family driver, who will be picking her up.

I remained in my car, discreetly observing her from a few meters away. The tinted windows of my vehicle concealed me from view, and I was uncertain if she noticed my presence.

To make it right, I took my umbrella out of the compartment. It's a foldable one. It will help her not to get wet.

I shut the car door as soon as I'm out. The shower of rain gives me a cold chill. The wind is slightly cold, but I feel warm and nervous. I bit my lower lip, and finally, I stood next to her. She didn't look at me.

"E-Excuse me?" I stammered and swallowed hard when our eyes met. I'm partially wet, and I don't mind it.

Her eyes beamed, giving me an intensifying feeling. I just realized that this is no longer an infatuation. It has come to a different level that I didn't expect to happen to me.

"I-I've got an umbrella. You can use it," I offered.

She looked at it and looked back at me.

"Uhm, it's alright. I'm waiting for my driver," in her soft voice.

"I see. . ." I nodded and looked down at my wet shoes. Her shoes were also soaked, but it wasn't bad compared to mine.

"You can use that. I'm okay. It looks like you need it more than me," she smiled.

"I-I'm fine. I have my car with me," I said, gazing toward my car's location.

She just smiled and nodded. "He's got an emergency. My driver already texted me. I told him that I would wait," she explained.

Now I understand why she's waiting longer than the days she's here.

"Then, I will accompany you if you don't mind. Do you want some coffee?" I offered. I'm hoping she will take this offer from me.

"Do you have some cash? Unfortunately, I have no money with me. I only have my card, and this coffee shop only accepts cash."

"Yes, I have. It's my treat."

I couldn't help but smile and feel my heart flutter as she shook her head, her own smile lighting up everything around her. It was as if her smile was a radiant sun that made the rain disappear from my world.

"Quinn Isabeau Langley." She stretched out her hand, and I looked at it.

Of course, I already know her name. I've been watching her since I moved into this university. She's four years younger than me.

"Xavion Xavier Mondragon," I said and took her hand for a handshake. Her hand was cold. It's the opposite of mine.

"Shall we?" I continued.

"Sure."

We get inside, and this is how our little secret begins.

She thought I was the son of the gardener in our mansion. So that's how I introduced myself to her. I need to do it, or she will never pay attention to me. I've heard that she's picky when it comes to selecting friends. She only had one girlfriend, Sasha was her name, and Dominic, with his gang, was the only male I saw most of the time around her.

I'm good at math, in line with my course—a civil engineering student in my last year. Ten more months, then it will be over.

"Can you tutor me? I'm not good as you," she sweetly looked into my eyes. I'm finishing her sketch plan design assignment.

"Sure," I sweetly responded.

She looped her hands around my arm and tilted for a stare.

"I'm so lucky to have a friend like you, Xav. You've got all the qualities a woman wants to have," in her lovely stare.

My jaw tightened with a smile. My heart pounded damn heavy fast as if it would come out of my chest.

"And I'm lucky to have you too," I said in silence, enough for her not to hear what I just said.

She stood up and stretched her body. I looked at her. Her body sways in both directions, and I can't take my eyes away from her.

"You know what. I have a good place for us to meet in secret. It's a little awkward here. Someone might see us. I'm not comfortable with the place."

I cleared my throat and stood up. My right leg started to get numb because of my position. The table was too low, closer to the concrete floor, and had no space to stretch out. We are only hiding on the rooftop of the engineering building. Students are not allowed in this area, but somehow, I found an exit enough for our bodies to get in and out.

"I don't want to get expelled if they catch us. Especially you. You are in your last year. I can't wait to see you finish and be called an engineer."

I shook my head and smiled a little bit. She's sweet and as beautiful as her name.

"We won't get caught, Quinn," I confidently said.

Xavion . "Come on, Xav, don't be scared. We're the only people here. I thought you wanted to see what's underground. Don't worry, my father isn't here, and neither are my brothers. They were on a field trip. On a business!" She said, slowly stepping inside the underground den. I straightened up first and looked around behind us. No one else is around. The sky was dark, and we secretly passed behind the secret garden of the mansion. The Langley's estate seemed promising but was like a haunted one for me. This place is not even a quarter of where I live. Of course, she didn't know that. I have my reason why I hide my identity from her. But I didn't lie about my name. "What do you think?" She turned around and stopped in front of me. Her eyes twinkled like a star. I nod. "Hmm, not bad. Is this your secret hideout?" I asked, stepping and shifting my body to look at my surroundings. "Yes, this is where I hide most of the time. My father abandoned this place a long time ago, and I di

Xavion . We were like magnets. We stick together and are comfortable with each other. If I was surrounded by my classmates, Quinn was surrounded by her, too. It's funny because since I'm in my fifth year, I could always see her down the second level of our building. The engineering school building was designed with an O, a total of the sixth level. So, first-year students go to the first floor, and sophomore goes to the second, and so on. Whenever we were with our friends, we acted like we didn't know each other. And only a gaze dominates between us if we accidentally meet. I always get excited daily and can't wait to see her again. We always met at our secret place. I helped her with everything: math, chemistry, physics, and even making a sketch plan design. Even though I am busy with my upcoming thesis, I still allocate time for us. A day without seeing her is not complete. She completes me. This setup has become a secret. No one knew, even Hendrix. He was my only cousin nearb

Xavion . "Who did this to you, Xav? Is it Dominic?" Hendrix asked quietly from my side. I weakly shook my head. My whole body is covered in bruises. I have broken bones in every part of me. It's painful, but nothing compares to the pain in my heart. I was fooled, and I couldn't accept it. I offered my heart genuinely for the first time, and this is what I got in return. I underestimated her. I thought she was different from all the girls who wanted my attention. I trusted and have given her my heart. I admit it was careless of me, and I didn't expect this. I thought she loved me. I thought she'd stick to me no matter what. I was wrong. It was a mistake to like her from the start. Hendrix stood up and looked at me. It's evident. He was angry and wanted revenge for this. I shut my eyes as I felt weak. I can hear my mother talking to the doctor outside, and I can't understand what it's all about. "Your father is coming, Xav. You better tell me the truth," in Hendrix's voice. My eye

It seemed as though the intangible leash around my neck was becoming more constricting day by day. I could no longer breathe. I am slowly dying. "Dominque will take you to the ballroom tonight to meet the investors. I want you to look beautiful, my dear. So I ordered the most stunning dress from CEVS." My father's body shifted, ready to get out of the room. I paused when I saw his reflection in the mirror. Layla and Taylah, my two personal maids, politely polish my dress and gently comb my long, wavy hair. "And by the way. I want you to wear those shoes," he said. His eyes pointed to the table beside the dressing table. "You are the perfect Cinderella, my dearie," in my father's mischievous smile. My heart sank in both pains, shouting for freedom. Quinn . As I gaze at the cold metal door of this basement, my tears flow down my cheeks. This has become familiar to me as I have grown accustomed to this type of imprisonment. However, tonight was particularly difficult as I had not seen my grandmother in a month. I yearn to speak with her and check on her well-being. I hope she is doing well. I wiped my tears when I heard the door. Someone is trying to open it up. I stood up, and my heart started to palpitate. Then the door opened. It was my brother, Gary. "Are you alright?" in his rustic stern voice. He seems drunk. Two of his bodyguards were outside. "Do you want to play?" He looked at his two bodyguards and signaled his hand for them to get out. The door shut, and I stepped back. I looked around, trying to find an object I could use as my defense. There was nothing in this room except for the blanket and pillows. I grabbed one pillow and held it firmly in front of me. Gary laughed as he looked at me evilly. "Look at you. Do

I miss you so much.” I hugged her tighter and buried my face in her shoulder. I love her scent. It reminds me of my mother.“Quinn. . .” She sighs while stroking the strand of my hair using her finger. I dried my tears and put on my best smile. I don’t want her to worry about me. I need my Grandmother to get better so that I can continue living.“My baby… I can’t wait for us to go on a picnic. Pick some dandelion flowers, and blow it seed. The seeds were like balloons flying up to heaven,” in her brightest smile.“Sure, Grandma. We will do that. We can play all day long—just you and me. We can dance, eat and play. Xavion . I clenched my teeth as the audience erupted in applause. They cheered for them, and she beamed joyfully on stage next to Dominique. My heart deflated a little bit. A type of feeling that I didn't expect. I rolled my tongue inside my mouth while looking at the two of them. The wine tasted bloody expensive, and their guests were not ordinary people. "See that man holding a cane with a black hat on?" Bryce whispered beside me. "That's Palentino, the boss mafia of Lentino Clan. And the man beside him is Bardeni, the boss mafia of EXO Clan," he continued. I nodded and gritted my teeth while looking at the two gentlemen dressed like mad hatters. It's a good thing that the theme of this event is the characters from the book, a book theme. Of course, everyone has a disguise, but I can quickly identify what they look like in most of them. "I love your character tonight, Xav. A tuxedo mask." Bryce chuckles. "You look devilish and mysterious." I gave him a dissatisfied look, and

My heart palpitated uncontrollably, almost giving me a hiccup. I swallowed hard, trying to control what my gut told me now. I couldn’t see what he looked like because of his mask. Our breaths mingled as our faces came close. My cheeks burned as we stared. I can only see his eyes, and it’s telling me something. His hooded storm-grey eyes surveyed me like a contemptuous bird of prey. It’s intimidating yet longing. He clenches his jaw while our bodies sway in the rhythm of the music in our background. Our eyes locked, and I couldn’t take my eyes away from him. It feels like I am being swept away with a beautiful feeling I didn’t feel before. His hearty-shaped lips were familiar, and it seemed like I had tasted them. His chiseled face, perfect long nose, and neck were talking to me. Have I met him before? Have we met before?

His hand pushed the hem of my skirt, caressing my thighs. I gasped in anticipation, and my body melted. Every touch of his hand in between my thigh sends thousands of heat inside me. His lips traveled down my neck. I giggled when I felt his lips around there. I continue massaging his nape. He swept me in his arms and gently eased my body on the bed. Our eyes locked briefly, and his weight pushed my body on the mattress. "I love the look of your eyes, Quinn. It speaks of wanting me, darling." He said, licking his lips and his hand gently caressing my side, aiming to unhook my bra. My body arched, and the moment he unhooked my bra and took off my top, his lips came crashing on mine again. There was no storm, but a low-pressure area is building up North." Norman sighed and shook his head. I gritted my teeth, facing the dark sky. Quinn is waiting for me. I need to go to her now. "The yacht may take you six hours, and it's fine. It doesn't matter if you arrive late on the Reserve Island, Xavion. It's better to land safely. Using the helicopter will give you zero visibility." Norman continued. "I guess I have no choice," I silently uttered. "It's alright." Norman patted my shoulder and chuckled. "You want this, and I understand that. "Hey, Quinn! Fai attenzione ai serpenti, Amore mio!" I stopped and looked around the sand. I almost forgot that this Island has a lot of snakes around, not to mention the prickly weed I hate the most! I turned around to see Diezel, and he started carrying the goods on his shoulder. I twisted my lips and continued walking a little faster this time. I nervously looked at each corner because of the snakes. "Snakes are good at hiding. Don't worry. I believe the boys cleaned the place." Diezel said, and he was now walking towards me, carrying two sacks of goods on his shoulders, which seemed heavy. I stopped again, letting him pass through me first, and I curiously followed him. I realized Xavion was not around because the place was too quiet. Diezel went inside the house, organizing all the stuff.

I don't know what happened after I passed out. I was about to see Jarrod to talk about the other business proposal. But here I am, now sitting in this coffin-shaped box. "Hey! Are you listening? Where are you going to take me? Let me go! I'm busting. I need to go to the toilet!" I said nervously. It's a lie. I will find a way to escape, but then again, I don't know how. The yacht is moving fast, and this idiot will probably take me somewhere isolated. "Hello!? Hey!" I yelled out. Judging by his body build, he is a pro. Broad shoulders, stern frame, perfect body built where I could not see any fats. It's all muscles in there with more than six packs. Neat look with a pleasant smell. I should be scared. But I'm not. I'm thinking of a way to escape once this yacht will dock. Xavion? I shut my eyes, thinking about him. I
