Chapter 175

It took Ava quite a while to come out from the bedroom and to calm the tension building up inside him, Jake downed a bottle of whiskey all by himself, knowing he was a light drinker, it was a bad idea as he immediately knew he was drunk but he couldn’t turn back now, Ava was here now and he had to make his move.

“Jake,” He whipped his neck towards her voice with such speed that he was scared it would break.

“Ava,” He smiled at her, his words slurred.

“It sounded urgent so I had to take my time till I was properly awake before coming out. I hope you’re not pissed at the time wasted?” Arielle said as she stood at the door to the bedroom.

“No, not at all.” Jake smiled, patting the seat next to him. “Please, you had a lot to drink last night. You should be sitting down.”

Arielle nodded and sat next to him, maintaining a respectable distance between them.
