Chapter 70: Scheming at its peak

Arthur Cassius noticed the subtle movement from Khloe and got up. Khloe adjusted her body a little.

“Khloe?” He said, his voice coming above a whisper. Khloe battered her lashes, before gently opening it. She noticed a familiar face looking down at her.

“Khloe…” the person's voice called out again then she realised who it was. “Mark?” she wanted to say but her voice was barely audible.

“You're awake,” Arthur said excitedly.

“I'll go call the doctor,” he said, leaving Khloe alone.

“Where am I?” She thought to herself.

“I thought I'd die. But thank God I didn't. My body aches so much,” she said, trying to get up.

“Was that Mark I just saw? Was he the one that saved me? And why did he look so different?” These questions reeled her aching head.

“I should just rest for a bit,” she said, closing her eyes again.

Few minutes later, Arthur came with the doctor and he started checking up on her.
