Adrian
Anna can't take a place in my heart, Isabelle has come for me and I am ready to follow her.
We just finished our wedding,I was forced into the marriage,I don't love her at all,it is Isabelle I love not Anna.
Isabelle and I were busying discussing in a restaurant,a day after I had my wedding with Anna.
I was happy seeing my first love, I played with her cheeks and we both kissed each other.
"How can you have a wedding with that fool?, she is not your type of girl " Isabelle bombarded me with questions.
"You can't understand me Isabelle,it was stated in my grandfather will that I must get married to her,I have to obey my Grand pa" I replied to her and my mouth curled into a smile because she looked so radiant.
"What?, your grandpa that is so awful,an arranged marriage, that is so dubious,I have come for you and there is nothing that lady will do" she spoke furiously.
I know how Isabelle can be so desperate to get things done.
"I am here for you,so we can continue our relationship and then marriage", those sweet words come out of her mouth and it touches my heart.
We both bursted into laughter and we hugged each other and then my phone rang and then I discovered that it must be from Anna.
As I wanted to pick my call and then Isabelle collected the phone from my hand,I knew that she wanted to give her insults but I collected it back.
"Hello!Anna How are you doing?, I hope you are ok.I will soon come home,I am with a business associate here. We are having an important discussion." I answered her instantly, telling her a lie.
" Ok I will be expecting you,I can't wait to see you " she replied, she wants to continue talking but I cut the call.
I don't know what she wants to discuss about,I must be there to attend to her ,I don't want any bad thing to happen to her because it was stated in the contract that I must secure her.
Isabelle frown at me her eyes were wide in concern and her lips were pursed and tense conveying a sense of worry, she avoided my eye contact.
I moved closer to her and I touched her neck and I kissed her because I know she is going to miss me.
"Isabelle,I will be fine let me go and meet this lady,we will discuss on phone"I responded and we left the restaurants.
****************************************
Staring at the contract paper on the floor I was surprised how Anna was able to know everything that was written on it.
"Can you imagine what I saw on these contract papers?" Anna threw those words at me.
" Yes, what is it?" I was so cold and hot on her,I know that I don't treat her well, but I am less concerned.
"So you are using me for your selfish interest, all you are after is your business moving forward and you don't care about my life " she spoke calmly.
" I don't care what you are saying, you are mine and you will always be mine for a Year all want you to do is to cooperate with me concerning this journey and I promise to pay you off" I answered her straight away.
She frowned and she was downcasted but I don't care about her feelings or what she is talking about.
I collected the paper from her hands and I held it very well and I arranged everything.
Anna went to her room instantly and I followed her because I didn't know what she might do to herself.
I followed her and I entered her room meeting her in a sober mood.
"So you are just using me, what is the essence of this contract marriage when you are having an affair with another lady outside and who was that lady I met with you?" she asked and she tilted her head as if trying to get a good understanding, her eyes were wide and inquisitive.
"Oh that lady she is my first love, she is better than you one million times,I cherish her more than you, please stay away from anything that concerns her and focus on this contract marriage " I affirm and I grinned clenching my fist.
"Adrian! What did I ever do to you that you hate me with all passion? She asked me and her eyes were full with rage.
I ignored her facial expression because I didn't care about what she was saying.
"Yes we are involved in a contract marriage, the next thing for you to do is to play your part and then I will play my part " I echoed all those words to her ears.
She jumped up from the bed and she pointed her fingers at me,I was surprised.
"Do you remember that there are no strings attached to this contract marriage?Anyway that is your problem" I thundered and I was about to leave her room.
Then I discovered that a hand gripped me from my back,he gripped my shirt and her face was red.
I pushed her away with my strong hands and she left me and I smiled wickedly.
Anna is a bit stubborn, didn't she know that I am stronger than I.
"Anna, can you see that you are just stressing yourself, instead of you dancing to my tune and we should act as husband and wife till the end of the contract marriage, you are here ranting rubbish "I lashed those words at her.
Her mattress was squeezed, she is such a dirty fellow,I don't know why my grandpa had to arrange me with such a type of lady.
She was staring at the floor and she kept mute,I left her bedroom and I went to the living room.
By the time I got to my living room,I discovered that Isabelle had sent me a text message and I had 5 missed calls.
I was so angry because it was Anna that caused all these.
I picked up the phone and I sent her a message.
"I am so sorry love,we will see later,I and Anna just fought with one another,I will make up to you my beautiful woman, much love.
By the time I finished sending the messages, I discovered that Anna was crying but I ignored it.
**Anna**Reflecting on what happened between Adrian and me makes me feel battered and sad. I refuse to accept why a man can be so ruthless and heartless. He pretended to be a good man while flirting with another woman—was this because of our so-called contract marriage? I won’t accept that excuse. As I stared at the curtains, I realized I hadn’t eaten and my stomach was growling. I acknowledged its emptiness. I’ve run through enough thoughts, suffered countless nightmares, and cried more than I should. I won’t call this a contract marriage anymore; it feels more like a bad captive marriage, and I’ve had enough of feeling downcast.I headed to the kitchen and was shocked to find it completely empty. I had assumed there would be food, but Adrian devoured everything and left nothing for me. I felt a wave of sadness and embarrassment wash over me.I opened a drawer and found a pack of noodles. I cooked it and ate it immediately—what choice did I have? Moments later, a message popped up o
Anna**Seeing Adrian and Isabelle together only deepened my hatred for him, and I sobbed as I realized he had been deceiving me by claiming he was on a business trip. So this was the business trip he had gone on? He had no idea I had uncovered his secret. It then dawned on me that Isabelle was the one who had spread all those rumors about me. I knew she was jealous. Just as I was reflecting on this, I received a message on my phone that left me in shock.****************************************I was having a serious discussion with Sebastian about how much I wished to be in a relationship with him. He took me to one of the expensive restaurants in town, and I was elated because he had come through for me; he had rescued me. AnnaThe atmosphere was almost choking and the silence between us was almost deafening. I weighed so little under his gaze and he wasn’t helping by staring intensely at me. I couldn’t meet his gaze.“You know exactly why we are here,” his intimidating, husky voice came as a shock to me.I knew exactly why we were here but I had no idea this was the man I was meeting. Him, as in Adrian Sinclair! He adjusted his tie, obviously feeling frustrated. He sat up in his seat before stretching his hands out in front of him. “If you are going to stay mute all through the night, I might as well just get up and leave. That would be typical of me, right?”I quickly looked up at his face. I was drowning in the ethereal nature of his eyes. The way his pupils dilated as they met my gaze was obvious but his face quickly masked in an unnerving look. I opened my mouth a few times, I just couldn’t make out the right words to say. I wasn’t exactly ready for this. I had all my life planned out since I w
AdrianThere was something about her—distinct but familiar. I couldn't place a finger on it. The way her eyes seemed to hold words that her lips were not expressing. The way her fingers played with each other, her demeanor lacking confidence. The way her face almost leveled with the floor, barely raising her gaze to mine was a typical day-to-day interaction with ladies for me. She almost seemed the same with other girls—lacking confidence and an elegant aura but she still kind of seemed different. It's complicated. She had seemed put together but uncertain. I don't do uncertain. I have no idea why my grandfather mentioned her name in his will as my wife but in all I know, I needed her for the company. I stared at my reflection through the rearview before ruffling my hair and then grabbed my phone and dialed Isabelle. She picked on the first ring. Anna“Do you, Anna Montgomery take Adrian Sinclair as your one and only husband? To be with him and for him till death do you part,” Those were strong words for a contractual marriage. Way too strong for a marriage to be ended after a year. My eyes glistened with tears as I looked up at Adrian through my veil. His face held no emotions, expressionless like his mind was not present here. My mind skipped when his eyes met mine. It was stone hard, glaring at me as though I had just summoned the devil. He had blatantly disagreed to this wedding. “The contract was enough.” were his words but I wanted this. Though this wasn't really a real marriage, I still didn't want it to seem lame like I meant nothing. This was my first marriage and I refuse to not have a wedding. I had no idea if that was why his countenance was stiffened or if it was simply because he didn't want to have anything to do with me! “Go ahead,” the priest said, pulling me out of my reverie. I looked over at my mum
AnnaMy hands trembled and my heart raced—a feeling mixed with anger surging from within me as my eyes transfixed between him and the lady in black. Who happened to be the lady I met in his office the day I signed the contract. Who was she? No, that wasn’t important now. “What are you doing in here?!” his stern eyes looked from my face to the file in my hand. “You shouldn't be holding that!” he rushed to me, yanking the file from my hands. No, I should be asking what she was doing here! I should be saying he shouldn’t be holding her hand! He looked down at the papers, resting his hand on his waist with frustrated look on his face. He sighed before looking up at the lady. “Isabelle. Could you leave, please? I will give you a call,” he said, his voice guttural. “But—” she started but Adrian raised his hand, cutting her off. “Just leave, Bell. I’ll give you a call soon!” he half-yelled. I looked over at ‘Isabelle’ and she shot me a death glare. If looks could kill, I’d be six
