Elizabeth's POV

"Are you ready?" Javier asked, his frown resting between his brows, making them look like two fuzzy caterpillars.

His expression made me chuckle in amazement. Did he really think I was forcing myself to see my father?

I had grown past my childishness within a short span. He was worrying over nothing.

I decided to keep my thoughts to myself and replied. "I'm ready, Javier. Just drive."

"Okay," he muttered. He inserted the key in the ignition and turned it. The engine roared to life with a gentle rumble. He pressed the accelerator, and the car lurched forward.
