LOGINThe past few weeks hasn't been easy in the Sinclair's home either. Kelvin and Jessica were not in the best terms too. The whole Sinclair could feel that there was something wrong with the pair whose wedding was coming up in few weeks time.
But neither of them has said a word to their families concerning the incident which occured at the clinic two weeks ago. Meanwhile at Kelvin's bedroom… Kelvin's head was lifted from the file he was reading to the direction of the door when he heard it open. His eyes narrowed down at the figure on a deep blue ankle length gown which had a side slit all the way to her thigh. Her long Brown hair was styled in loose waves and her face held a little touch of makeup. However, her expression showed how much she was annoyed or displeased with something. “There's a reason why we place doors at the entrance of a room. It's for privacy and also to knock on it- “You think I'm here to listen to you lecture me about what doors are made for?...Well I have a news for you Kelvin" Jessica barked. Her body shook in anger as she fondled for something in her purse. Once she had grasped it, she threw it down next to his feet. “There! I hope you're happy now? I'm pregnant! With another man's baby!” Kelvin exhaled deeply as he stared down at the strip next to his left foot. He didn't utter a word to her but just froze completely. This was a big mess up. “Are you really going to stand there and say nothing? What the hell am I supposed to do with this baby?” Kelvin slapped the file he was reading close. He spared her a single glance.“Do whatever you want with it. That's not my child and so it's not acceptable to me” He uttered in a cold tone before walking past her. The sound of the door closing behind her jolted her out of her dumbfounded state. Her hand fell on her tummy. “Kelvin! Kelvin! Get back here!” Jessica yelled going after him. When Kelvin got to the office, he walked around the large desk and took his seat. He picked up one of the many files piled up by the edge of the table. Immediately, the door opened after a quick knock. “Boss. I've got everything that you requested for concerning the lady” A young man strode into the room holding a file in his hand. Kelvin raised his head up to his assistant instantly and snapped the file he was reading close. He stretched out his arm to accept the file outstretched to him. “Good. Use the door” The young man flashed his boss an awkward smile before he left the office. Kelvin flipped through each pages reading it intently. Once he was done, he picked up his phone and dialed a particular number. “I'm sending an address to you, you and your men should secure that environment and notify me when you see anything strange or anyone leaving” **** Cameron stared down at the glass of orange juice he was holding. He inhaled and exhaled loudly as he contemplated what he was about to do. After he had suggested an abortion to Maya, she made a big issue out if it. He failed to understand what was running through her mind. She didn't want to have another man's child and she also didn't want to get rid of it. Her uncertain choice has left him with no other option than to take matters into his own hands. He opened the door to their bedroom and walked in. His eyes fell on her pale figure sitting on the bed. Cameron had lost count of how many hours he had spent pacifying her. “You're right Maya. We have no right to take the life of another. I don't mind you giving birth to the child, he or she will get a mother and a father's love. I promise” Maya turned her head to him slowly. He had a small smile on his lips as he approached the bed with the glass of juice. “But you- Cameron placed a finger on her lips cutting her words short. He shook his head gently. “Don't remind me of my selfish and cruel words. You deserve a chance to be a mother and I'm not going to deprive you of that. Here..have this” He stretched the glass to her. “I made it especially for you. I guess I better start taking good care of you now” A large beam appeared on Maya's lips. She wrapped her arm around Cameron with small sobs. Once she pulled away from him she accepted the glass from him. “I don't know what to say. This is so tough for me too” Cameron placed a hand on hers. “Don't worry about all that” He whispered softly as he guided the glass to her lips. He sat there and made sure that she drank the content to the last sip. He collected the empty glass and left the room with the promise of coming back quickly with her breakfast. Twenty minutes later.. Maya picked up her phone from the bed staring at the screen. It has been twenty minutes since Cameron left to get breakfast for her. The kitchen wasn't a twenty minutes distance either. So what was keeping him so long? She pulled the duvet off her feet and stepped down from the bed. Suddenly, there was a strong pang of abdominal pain followed by the teeth gritting feeling of being stabbed with a knife. A loud scream left her lips. Her breaths became irregular while her face was covered with her own sweat. She felt a liquid rolling down her legs and when she looked down, her face paled. Blood! Her scream intensified and yet no sign of Cameron anywhere. Maya couldn't take a step forward due to the pain she was going through at the moment. More blood flowed out of her until she felt the world spinning before her eyes. Slowly, she started losing her consciousness. Her body dropped to the ground but before her head could hit the hard ground, a hand held her head up. Maya heard her name being called out by an unfamiliar voice. She couldn't keep her eyes fully open but the image of the person picking her up from the floor was blurry. This wasn't Cameron, the feeling was different at the moment. “Hang in there!” That was the last thing she heard from whoever was holding her until she slipped into the darkness. **** The sound of the beeping machines followed by the loud voices of the doctors and nurses present in the ICU made a certain figure clench his fist in anger. “Maya!” Kelvin turned on his heels the moment he heard the masculine voice behind him. His pupils dilated as he stared at the man before him. He recognized the man as Maya's husband. Forty minutes ago, he received a call from one of the men that he had stationed outside of Cameron and Maya's home. Cameron was spotted rushing out of the building making a call where he was demanding for an ambulance. If he hasn't made it there on time, who knew what might have happened. His knuckles turned white as he approached Cameron who wasn't prepared for anything. Immediately, a punch was sent to his face knocking him over to the metal bench. “How dare you hurt my baby?!” He picked Cameron up from the bench and attempted to strike again but his men surrounded the two in seconds separating them from each other. “I never did anything but if by any chance that baby dies, then I'll be grateful to the almighty!” Cameron retorted wiping blood dripping from his nose. Maya left him with no other choice. There was absolutely no sane man in the world who would accept another man's kid as theirs. Not now not ever! “If anything happens to her or the baby…you'll wish to be a dead man instead!” One of the guards ran into the building with a phone placed against his ear. He stopped beside his boss with little pants leaving his lips. “Boss. It's Miss Herring. She slipped and fell off the stairs which led to her bleeding. She's currently fighting for her life as we speak” **** After a hour of being in the ICU, Maya was wheeled out of the ICU by three nurses and a doctor. She was on a blue hospital gown while an IV drip was connected to her wrist. She wasn't awake or conscious of her surroundings. She lay very still on the bed. The moment Kelvin and Cameron spotted Maya on the wheeler, they both stood up to their feet. “Maya- “Don't!” Kelvin warned sternly. He quickened his pace and caught up with them. “Is she alright? And how is the baby?” The doctor stopped moving. He stopped on his tracks and turned to Kelvin who was panting heavily beside him. “Luckily you brought her here on time. She lost way too much blood and she's currently weak.” “And what about the baby? Did she lose it?” Kelvin and the doctor turned their heads to the person who just asked a question. Cameron cleared his throat. “It's kind of a wonder how the foetus survived this. Both mother and child are okay” No one noticed the Cameron's change of expression. His high hopes were dashed before his face. How could the baby survive? “There are some forms that needs to be filled urgently” “I'm her husband. I'll handle it” Cameron took a step forward to the doctor. He was suddenly yanked back to the spot he was standing on earlier. “She's carrying my baby. I'll fill the forms” The doctor was left confused by the two men words. He parted his lips to speak but couldn't find the ability to utter a single word. “Okay. I'll take my leave now” As soon as the doctor was out of their sights, Kelvin gripped Cameron by his collar. With a low deep voice he uttered. “Your role as her husband ends here! She's now my responsibility and you're the Cop’s business” He gave a nod to his guards standing at a distance. They were quick to rush forward to Cameron and held him down. He didn't back down without a brawl but he was still overpowered by the guards. “Let me go! I need to see Maya!”Jessica gripped her steering wheel as she stared at the car up ahead. That car belonged to Anna Sinclair, Kelvin's mother. After her meeting with those fools, she got a splendid idea of how to sneak someone into Kelvin's house without raising suspicion. The car horned several times for her to move out of the way but she remained unfazed. Her main goal was to get Anna out of her car for a minute at least. And just like she planned, Anna stepped out of her car. Jessica also stepped out only to see Anna's face fall. “My day has already been ruined. What do you think you're doing fooling around on the road? I have places to be at!” Anna spat in anger. “Oh, so it's my fault that my car chose to break down in the middle of the road? And that too, when you appeared? It shows how unlucky I am whenever you are around..”Anna was astounded at the response she got, she closed the gap between them and rammed her hand past Jessica's cheek. “I see you've left your senses back at your house. I
What Kelvin didn't think through when he brought Cynthia over to keep Maya company was for the two to have a girl's night all night long, they played loud music and danced all through. And when he went down to confront them, Maya had the guts to tell him that it was his baby's doing. She was only doing what the baby wanted, her words sent his impatience up. “I'm gonna pop her like a pimple!” He groaned as he sat up from the bed. He was barely getting any sleep with such rocking music in his own home. Stepping out of bed, he made his way out of the room in his black pyjamas. When he reached down, he was surprised to see them with headphones watching a movie on a tablet while the music was deafening. His brows rose in realization, this was all Maya's doing to frustrate him. He caught a glimpse of the show they were both giggling about, it was a strip tease showing off men barely clothed. Annoyed, he walked over to the music player and turned it off. He saw them sit up immediately.
Anna shut her eyes briefly as soon as she watched the clip Kelvin just sent to her. She recognized that car in the video. It was hers, and that son of a bitch took it out, how did he even get her car keys?! Her attention was diverted when she spotted the culprit walking in like nothing happened. She cleared her throat. “Alright son. I've got this under control. Take care..” She disconnected the call and turned around. Jake stopped on his track when he noticed someone standing on his path, his whistling stopped and slowly, he peeled his eyes off his phone screen. A deep mocking smile settled on his lips when Anna glared hard at him.“Oh it's you step mother..” His words held sarcasm and mockery, but his smile turned upside-down the second Anna's hand met his cheek.Angered and annoyed by her actions, he made an attempt to strike her back only to receive another deafening slap on the other cheek. Anna made sure to hit him hard enough for her fingers to show on his face as red streak
Jake narrowed his down to the bold young woman who dared to openly challenge him. His eyes fell on Sammy for a brief second, he knew the latter was Kelvin’s buddy and anyone related to that scoundrel was equally an enemy to him.“I dare you to repeat that again and I promise you that-“Shut the fuck up and pay for the damages you caused!. Don’t underestimate me young man, I can make you trend on the internet in a very bad way with just a ten second video. Will you do the needful or..?”Cynthia shook her head slowly at the young man who was yet to react. She pulled out her phone and proceeded to move to where he was standing. Sammy reached his hand out to grab her but he caught the air instead. “Hello guys..so here with me, I have a very arrogant young man..”Sammy massaged his forehead as she began her Livestream telling her gullible fans what transpired here. He didn’t get why Jake wouldn’t apologize or settle the stall owner since he was the one at fault. He shook his head slowly
It took only a minute for the open air cafe to turn rowdy as both young ladies clawed at themselves shamelessly. Luckily Cameroon had booked the place down as if he knew this wouldn’t end well. He sprang up to his feet so as Racheal they both tried to separate the duo fighting.“Stop it both of you!” Racheal yelled after Shelly and Jessica were forcefully pulled away from themselves. Their hair was now disheveled and their dresses torn and also out of place. Racheal faced Jessica and slapped her hard across her face. “Learn your manners young lady. I’m old enough to birth you so don’t you dare disrespect me that way! Do I make myself clear?!” Jessica was left in a daze for a second. When she finally regained her senses, She turned around to the older lady who just hit her. Her eyes blazed in fury. Ever since she was born neither of her parents has ever raised their hand to her but ever since she knew these lowly peasants, her cheeks haven’t known rest.To their amazement, Jessica r
Maya waved the files past Kelvin’s face feeling a bit lost on why he handed this to her instead of the freedom like she had demanded. She had almost forgotten about Cameron’s betrayal until she saw the divorce papers right now. She wasn’t even divorced yet and she was already staying under another man’s roof.“This has nothing to do with the freedom that you promised me Mr Sinclair. I trusted your words for it for once in my life and you couldn’t even fulfill it!”Kelvin picked up a ballpoint pen from his desk and walked around the table to get to her. He outstretched the pen to her with a knowing look.“Sign the papers and be free from that ugly relationship. I can’t help you if your husband files a lawsuit against me for illegally abducting his wife. Your real freedom lies on being free from your past relationship and accepting this current one”Maya stared back and forth between the pen and Kelvin silently wondering which of them was more stupid than the other. There was absolutel
