Chapter 4

Breakfast Table:-

"Daddy, come let's eat" Christy shouted and brought him back from his thoughts. He went and took his seat.

“I need one more pancake,” Christy asked.

"You both already had one and if you have one more you won't eat breakfast and too much sweet is not good for teeth'' Amelia explained patiently. Everyone is impressed by her care.

Everyone started having food. 

"Nice acting but i can bet you will get tired of this acting very soon" Christian whispered in Amelia's ear making her go still. Though Amelia is sad she didn't show it.

    Amelia made Christy sit on the dining table, she herself sat on a chair and started feeding her. Everyone had breakfast silently and praised Amelia for her cooking skills. 

"Mummy food is nice," Christy said loudly.

    Grandma gifted Amelia bangles, Uncle-aunty gifted a necklace and Juliana gifted earrings. Christy got confused seeing everyone giving gifts to her mummy.

"Why is everyone giving gifts to mummy?" she asked no one in particular. 

"Because it is a ritual, your mummy cooked for the first time in her in-law home right? thats why" Juliana explained.

"Why didn't anyone tell me, I don't have a gift" she pouted sadly.

"You are the biggest gift Chris" Amelia told. 

"Mummy wait, i will be back in a minute" Christy exclaimed and ran to her room.

"Slow down you may get hurt" Christian shouted but no use, that little cracker went at jet speed. Everyone is waiting for her curiously. She came with a packet and gave it to Amelia along with a kiss on her cheek.

    Amelia opened it to reveal a beautiful yellow color simple long gown. Everyone looked at Christy in aww.

"Where did you get this angel?" asked Christian.

"I bought it when I went shopping with Juliana aunty to gift mummy on marriage day. But I slept" Christy pouted, thinking how she missed the chance to attend her parents' wedding.

    Amelia is clean bowled after listening to this little girl's admiration for her even before seeing her.

"Daddy, where is your gift for mummy?" Christy questioned Christian throwing him in an awkward situation.

"I didn't bring a gift Angel, like you no one informed me" Christian tried to escape from the situation.

"ufoo.... now i need to think again to solve this problem and save daddy" Christy started thinking, after a minute her face lit up with an idea.

"I got it....yeah........." Christy danced with joy after finding a solution to save her daddy from this problem.

"What is it Christy?" asked curious Juliana. 

"Daddy, Give a kiss to mummy" Christy said, making everyone shocked at her suggestion. 3 O's formed on everyone's face except Daniel(poor soul didn't understand anything).

"Angel, where are you learning these things?" Christian questioned coming out of shock.

"uff, Daddy, why are you shouting? I saw in one film where the hero forgot to get a gift so he will kiss his wife" Christy explained slowly to her daddy.

"What the!! angel you are not going to see these types of films again, ok" Christian tried to divert her attention from kiss.

"Why daddy? it was so good, now kiss mummy" Christy came back to her demand giving no way to escape. 

    Christian doesn't want to kiss Amelia but he knows it is impossible to convince his stubborn daughter. He looked at Amelia, she seemed to be still in shock. 

    Without any choice left he moved forward to Amelia and bent down to kiss her on cheek, his breath in fanning to Amelia's face which brought her back from shock. She tried to move back but unfortunately the dining table is behind her. 

    Before Amelia could think anything to escape from the kiss, Christian lips landed on her left cheek. Her hands made fists and she closed eyes feeling some new sensation in her stomach. Christian state is the same as her. His lips stayed a few more seconds on her cheek making her cheeks turn red in shyness and embarrassment of being kissed in front of family.

     Christian and Amelia are brought back to reality by the clapping sound by Christy. They both stood awkwardly while his family was suppressing their smiles.  

"Yeah.........everyone gave gifts to mummy" Christy started jumping in joy.

"I am leaving for the office, I will come home late" Christian said and moved out without giving anyone a chance for anyone to stop him.

"Amelia child, go and take a rest. Evening guests are coming for a small party" Grandma suggested.

"Why this party grandma? Why will they come?." Christy struggled to complete.

"It is a small get-together to introduce your mummy to everyone, Christy," explained the old lady.

"Why do we need to introduce mummy? Everyone knows her right?"Little question bank won't leave easily.

"It is a formality Christy, now stop your questions and let your mummy rest, you don't want her to look bad in front of everyone. Do you?" questioned grandma trying to convince Christy.

"No, my mummy is an angel. Come mummy lets rest" Christy dragged Amelia upstairs to take a rest. Everyone laughed at Christy tagging her mummy everywhere.

In Evening:-

    Amelia got ready in the dress gifted by Christy and Christy also wore a yellow frock twinning to her mom. When all guests arrived they came down and Juliana introduced Amelia to everyone.

    Everyone came to Amelia and congratulated her. Praised her beauty and gifted her. This process went for sometime. Everyone started having dinner.

    Christy is taking juice for her mummy. She knows her mummy is tired of sitting and receiving gifts from so many people. When she was walking she heard some ladies speaking about her mummy.

"This girl(Amelia) is so beautiful, Christian is lucky to marry her" One lady told the other ladies in the group.

"Yes, Christian is lucky to marry Amelia but she is unlucky to marry him" another exclaimed feeling pity on Amelia.

"Yes, they must have forced her for this marriage or else why will she marry him" another lady from the group said, supporting the previous person's words.

"No, She must be a money minded girl as she belongs to the middle class. She took this opportunity to become rich in a single day. Or else who will marry a person who is a single father and not to forget about his arrogance. Middle class girls these days are so cheap and characterless. They are ready to do anything for money" One wicked lady from group spit venom.

     Next minute Christy poured juice in her hands on that wicked lady. That lady is drenched in juice while Christy's cute eyes filled with anger.

"Don't you dare to say bad words to my parents!!!!!!!!!!" Christy roared like a small lioness.
