Hendrix vehemently shook his head.

“Look. She just offered this place to me as an apology. She never mentioned that this is her penthouse..” he quickly explained.

Margaux folded her arms across her chest and narrowed her eyes on him. “Do you think I will believe you?” she hissed.

Hendrix averted his gaze and quickly mumbled, “Of course you won’t. You already said many times that you don’t trust me,” then he chuckled.

Stunned, her eyes went round as she gawked at him in disbelief. She was not expecting him to say that at all which made her chest tightened.

All of a sudden, she wanted to deny it and tell him it was just a lie. But fortunately, she quickly realized that her heart was softening again just because of his reverse response.
