Hendrix snapped and immediately searched for a taxi, but unfortunately, there was none until Margaux’s car disappeared from his sight. He took out his phone and booked an uber, and he muttered a loud curse when the driver said that it would take half an hour before it could pick him up. He brushed his fingers through his hair. If he only had a car, he wouldn't have any problem there. Why did it never come across his mind to purchase one? He should’ve considered buying it after he got the apartment. He clicked his tongue. “Hendrix. What’s going on?” His mother asked. HIs brows furrowed upon hearing his mother’s voice. Turning around, he saw his parents already standing behind him and looking at him worriedly. “Leave. I don’t want to see you anymore,” he said sternly. “Hendrix, please. Don’t do this to us. We are your parents..” Wilma pleaded and tried to hold his arm. He slapped her hand and glared at her. “Leave before I call the police for harassment!” he hissed.
“Take me? Where?” Hendrix asked innocently. He had a bad feeling about it. Clenching his fists, he started stepping away as he waited for the guard’s response. The guard glared at him as he noticed what he was doing. “Stay right there. Just surrender yourself and don’t run if you want to go back to your country unscathed!” his voice thundered. His eyes went wide as he stared at the guard in disbelief. “What do you mean by that? I’m not a fvcking criminal!” he exclaimed. He couldn’t understand that. He didn’t do anything to be treated kike a criminal yet that guard was looking at him like he was one of the most wanted person in England! “You are now banned here and the authorities already dropped the order to deport you. You are now staying here illegally,” the guard explained. His jaw dropped. He was in utter disbelief by what he had just heard. ‘Banned? Deport?! What the fvck is going on?!’ his mind screamed hysterically. He couldn’t think rationally as a lot of
Hendrix didn’t know how long he stayed hiding behind the tall grasses in the congested area. But it was already dark and he knew those men had already stopped searching as it was too dangerous lurking specially on the place he was staying in. He was aware of that and he was scared as well, however, he had no choice but to stay as it was the only safe place to hide from those people searching for him. He just hoped that no snakes or any creatures would show up and bite him, aside from the insects like mosquitoes and ants that had already been his problem since he sat there. His phone vibrated again at the same time his stomach grumbled. He quickly checked the message and stood up right away upon reading it. With chest thumping loudly, he looked around to double check if there was still anyone lurking around. When he confirmed that the area was clear, he carefully walked through the bushes and followed the map he just received from Liana. He must be crazy for trusting that wo
Margaux tapped her fingers on the table while she sat on the balcony of her room. Her eyes were staring at the dark sky while waiting for any news about Hendrix. “Miss Margaux?” a loud knock came and she quickly stood up to open the door. The butler welcomed her sight and her heart drummed wildly in an instant. In anticipation or nervousness? She was not sure, it was probably both. “Miss Margaux, I’m sorry to inform you that the security team failed to find Mr Mondragon anywhere in this area. They said that he possibly found some secret passage and exited there,” the butler informed straight away. Her eyebrows instantly furrowed as she didn’t believe the guy was that lucky to find a secret exit as there was really no other exit in the area that won’t be seen in the CCTV. “Is there another exit here that I did not know about?” she queried. The butler paused for a while before he answered, “There’s actually one..” he said a little hesitantly. She blinked several time
“What the heck is he doing there?!” she exclaimed. Her chest was thumping wild as she felt a squeezed in her heart. She almost threw her phone and wanted to take her keys and run to her car to drive to the airport. But her rational mind stopped her and just glared at the picture. A hint of jealousy flashed her eyes but she quickly shook it away. From that moment, she won’t entertain any feelings she has for Hendrix in order for her to move on. She would even lie to herself if she needed to. That's how determined she was to forget him. “So what if he leaves with her? I wanted him to leave this country and that's what he is doing. I shouldn't be affected by it,” she muttered, convincing herself. Letting out a heavy breath, she gently placed back her phone on the bedside table and walked to her dressing room. However, as she was wearing her pajamas, a gruesome scene suddenly appeared in her mind as she imagined what the two would do once they successfully reached their destination.
“Josh? what are you doing here?” Margaux asked in disbelief. The guy grinned widely and gestured to the sofa she was sitting on. “Do you have any company? Can I sit there?” he asked politely. Raising her eyebrows, she stared at him for a few seconds before she nodded. “Sure. I don’t have anyone with me anyway,” she shrugged. It won't hurt to have him for a little while, she thought. “You are alone? Where are your cousins?” “I don’t know where they are. Must be busy. I just wanted to unwind so I did not bother asking anyone,” she replied while watching him sit next to her. She was sitting in the middle of the sofa so there was no option for him but to sit either on her left or right side with a little space between them. But it would make them a couple if they sat side by side, thus, she moved sideways and left a huge space in between them. The guy stared at the empty space between them but she quickly looked away and watched the waiter approaching them. “Thank you..” she mutte
Margaux quickly pushed him. Her eyes were wide as her heart was beating so fast. Their lips just almost pressed against each other, but she felt violated. “Get away from me!” she shouted and stepped backwards. She stumbled but she didn’t fall as one of her bodyguards came and helped her.Meanwhile, Josh looked stunned. He just stood immobile there while staring at her like a statue. He had no reaction when her bodyguards escorted her out and left him alone. “I don’t want to go home yet..” she whined as she realized they were exiting the bar. No one said anything as they didn’t know what to respond. Their job was to protect her and keep her safe but forcing her to go home was out of their job description. Margaux was about to go back when a hand suddenly stopped her by grabbing her arm.“You’re not going back there,” a familiar voice said. She was about to lash out but the words got stuck in her throat upon realizing it was her cousin Daisy. In an instant, her face lit up and she
"To whom?" Daisy raised her eyebrows. She knew full well that Margaux was completely drunk since her face already looked like a tomato with droopy eyes. Her voice was hoarse as well and she quickly got pissed off over little things which was the main point to indicate that she already exceeded her alcohol limit. Standing straight in front of her cousin, her eyes sparkled while her lips curved in a knowing smile. "Who else? Do I have any other guy I let in my life outside our family?" Margaux retorted sarcastically. “Jack..” she replied in a matter-of-fact tone. She chuckled when her cousin threw her a sharp look. Amused at her reaction, she decided to tease her more. “I don’t mind sharing him with you..”“Sorry, but I’m not interested,” her cousin quickly answered. Her laugh erupted in the room. It must be her hormones but she found Margaux really adorable when she was mad. Ever since they were young, she already loved teasing her but at that moment, she felt like it became worse
Hendrix's thick furrowed eyebrows became permanent as he buried his face on paper works. His workaholic self just couldn't help finishing them all before he went home. “Sir, it's past nine already,” Tom, his secretary, stated. “You can go home now,” he responded without lifting his head. Tom looked hesitant as he stared at his boss who was busy signing the documents. He could leave just as he told him to, but he knew his future would be at risk if he did not drag his boss out of his office. Standing there, he took a deep breath and was prepared to say the magic word when all of a sudden, a loud ring erupted in the whole office. Hendrix stopped whatever he was doing and scowled at his mobile phone resting on the corner of his desk. His face was dark as though he was displeased that he's got interrupted with his work. “Let me see, you're still in the office, am I right?” the caller said without any greetings. Hendrix didn't need to ask who was on the other line. His annoyin
The manor was very busy as everyone seemed to be panicking as the time was running. But Margaux seemed oblivious as she was busy staring at herself in a huge mirror. Her heart was thumping hard. ‘This is it,” she told herself internally. The white beautiful wedding dress that was full of tiny diamonds was sparkling, almost blinding her eyes. Her hair was tied up in a very neat bun with some hair strands curled beautifully decorating her small face. While her makeup was just light, almost bare showing her natural beauty that made everyone in the room bewitched as they all looked at her. “Miss Margaux, it’s time to walk down the aisle,” the organizer announced. Margaux glanced over herself one more time before leaving the room. The organizer gave her the beautifully arranged white bouquet with a huge grin.“Mr Mondragon is so lucky,” she muttered with pure admiration. She did not respond and just gave her a small smile. Her stomach was churning as her chest was about to explode. S
Margaux crossed her arms as she leaned on the back rest of the sofa, staring at the woman in front of her. She woke up alone and everyone in the manor was nowhere to be found aside for Liana who was sitting comfortably on the sofa in the living room while having a cup of tea as she descended the stairs. “Babe,” Liana flashed a small smile. Her eyebrows raised as she had no idea what her cousin was doing in their manor. As far as she could remember, she was left in the Philippines so she thought she would stay there and will never have the guts to show her face again out of remorse. ‘I forgot that she’s shameless,’ she thought and rolled her eyes. “I know you never wish to see me again,” Liana muttered. “You know but you still show up here,” she replied sarcastically. The princess let out a sigh then shook her head. Seeing that, Margaux thought she was going to retort a sarcastic remark and grin mockingly at her like she always does before. However, she’d seen none of it, rather
“I want to give her a grand wedding in front of all of you, her family and friends,” Hendrix added. He was looking straight to Don Geronimo as he said those words with a very serious face. However, the corner of his lips lifted upon seeing Margaux’s reaction in his peripheral vision. “You’re already married,” Don Geronimo stated. Hendrix's lips pursed as he brought his attention back to the old man. “But it didn't feel right. I married her as Margaux Hermani and I want to correct that“ “Hendrix..” Margaux muttered. He finally looked at her direction and saw her flustered face and teary eyes. She probably didn't expect that and had a doubt about his plan. Stepping forward, he cupped her face and stared into her blue eyes. “I want to make this right,” he muttered. Then he put down his hands and shoved one onto the pocket of his jeans whilst slowly kneeling down in front of her. A loud gasp came from Margaux as he pulled out the velvet box and revealed a huge diamond ring.
“You're blooming,” Daisy smirked as soon as they entered the dining room. Margaux’s face turned hot in an instant. She then threw her cousin a sharp glare on which the latter just laughed it off. “Why are you looking at me like that? I’m just stating a fact,” Daisy said and gave her a malicious grin. She rolled her eyes and did not say anything. Instead, she took her seat and looked around the table to see that they were complete except her parents, who were probably still in the hospital. “You should take the seat next to your wife,” she heard her uncle say. Her eyebrows raised as the only vacant seat next to her was his father's chair. “I don't think that's right,” Hendrix muttered as he stood still behind her chair. “Just take that seat and eat. It's just a chair,” her uncle Daniel insisted. Knowing that her husband won't do it for his respect for her father, she let out a sigh before glancing over her shoulder. “You can take that chair. No one will mind,”
“Are you tired?” Hendrix queried as they cuddled under the blanket. ‘I am exhausted!’ Margaux’s mind screamed internally. Her face was burning and kept her eyes closed recalling what they had just done. It was not the first time anymore but it still felt new to her. Moreso, the experience was entirely different from the first one as she thought Hendrix didn't strain himself anymore which made her whole body sore. She felt his soft lips touch her forehead and a soft whisper of ‘I love you’ tingles her left ear. He then tightened his hold on her and pressed her body to his even more as if he was afraid to have even a tiniest gap between them. “Love..” he murmured. Curiously, Margaux slowly opened her eyes and met his gaze. But before she could say something, Hendrix quickly leaned in closer and claimed her lips. Gasping, she opened her eyes and reluctantly pushed him away. “I can't do it anymore,” she mumbled. She averted her gaze as her face became hotter. She had no qualms
“Call all the doctors, quick!” she exclaimed as she kneeled down next to Hendrix. Her heart just stopped beating upon seeing his unconscious body. She didn't know where to touch him as she was afraid she might hurt him even more. “Love! Open your eyes, please! Don't sleep!” she cried. She could feel her cousin was trying to calm her but her emotions exploded that she could not hear anything anymore. “Babe, calm down!” Daisy shook her. “Love, please!” she pleaded. Her hands were shaking as she placed her palms on his chest. Although she could feel his heartbeat, still she cannot calm down seeing him unconscious with blood almost covering his shirt. “Let me check his wounds,” Felissa muttered. Reluctantly, she moved away and let her mother check where the gunshot was. She was holding her breath as she was trying to prepare for whatever she was going to see. However, as soon as her mother lifted Hendrix's shirt, loud gasps reverberated in the room and followed by loud laughter.
“Aren’t you afraid that he might let that woman free?” Felissa inquired. Margaux heaved a sigh. Then, a small smile flashed her face as she looked at her mother. “I trust that he won’t do it, Mom..” she replied. Her mother stared at her for a long second before she responded. “What if he betrayed you?” she asked critically. She did not know if her mother was just testing her. But her question did not really come across her mind. After learning what happened from the nurse that was supposed to kill her, she knew right then that Hendrix did not really mean to shoot her. He was aiming for Doctor Pablo, not her. That’s why as soon as he tried to approach her, she did not hesitate to send him with that woman. She was that confident that he would come back to her, not thinking about other possibilities that he had other motives. Looking away, she curled her fingers as she was starting to doubt her decision. But then she shook her head immediately and lifted her chin as she returned her
Margaux quickly shifted her head towards the door as soon as she heard it shut. Her shoulders slumped while she heaved a deep sigh. “Why did you make him leave and feel disappointed now?” Her father queried. She pursed her lips. Seriously, she didn’t know why she did that. Probably because she was not ready to face him yet. She took a deep breath once again and looked at her father. “Did you already know about Doctor Pablo?” She asked instead. Don Geronimo raised his eyebrows. His eyes lit up, prolly seeing her intention of changing the topic. “I had suspicion, but never thought he could actually do that to us,” he shook his head. Margaux’s eyes narrowed as she stared at her father. His actions and facial expression were so contradictory that she could not help but be skeptical. “Really?” She tilted her head and crossed her arms. She did trust her father, but at that moment, she could not help but doubt his words. Meanwhile, Don Geronimo suddenly laughed boisterously. “You’r
