CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN: THE DEVIL ALSO CRIES

Catherine’s POV

Eventually, my legs had caved from the kicking at the door and my voice drained out from too much screaming. Alexander had locked me in the room and disappeared, leaving me to expunge my rage at the door, probably still banging Olivia without a care in the world.

I rub off the webs of sleep, clinging on to my eyes, I must have dosed off from my exhausted yelping.

Suddenly, I hear noise, it’s panicky, frantic, then I hear groaning, loud groaning that sound a lot like Alexander. I can hear Simon too and Olivia, loitering in the background. I jump to my feet, pressing my ear unto the door.

“Open the door” I bang at the door intensely.

“Catherine?” I hear Simon from the door.

“Yes, Alexander locked me in” I cry.

I hear the sound of the lock and the door swing open. Simon gawking at my pale frame and sunken eyes, asks tenderly. “Catherine, are you okay?”

“Yes, what’s going on…?” My eyes trail the distance of the groaning sound coming from down the hall.
