Chapter 25: Hitched And Stitched

As soon as we're done with the ceremony, Lucas, ever the alpha, takes charge. He orders for a doctor and escorts us to a private room in the church. The instant we enter, the doctor arrives with his medical kit in tow, ready to tend to Liam's wounds.

Liam sits down on a chair while the doctor begins to clean and stitch his wounds, a small hiss of pain escaping from his lips. My heart throbs erratically at the sight of his bloodied form, the white of his shirt stained red.

I'm still trying to figure out the reason for his condition and I'm wondering how long he intends to keep quiet about it. But I grow impatient with every passing second. I watch distastefully, tapping my foot gently on the floor as the doctor does his work on him.

“Quit doing that,” Liam snaps, frowning and glaring at me.

“What?” I return his frown.

“That.” His eyes are as sharp as daggers as he glowers at me. “Your incessant foot tapping. It’s giving me a headache.”

“A headache?” I raise a brow at him
