Her past was a bit of a mystery. A close kept secret that she wouldn't dare utter to anyone. The chance of being vulnerable, to forcing her to actually trust another individual frightened her. Incredibly shy, but a silent warrior who came through with scars and all. She was sure to live the rest of her days alone, only to be captivated by him. Who is he? Can she trust him? Did she want to trust him? Only time could tell.

Lifting me higher in his arms, he nuzzled his face into my neck. I squirmed as his nose skimmed my shoulder, warm lips following after in gentle kisses. “Stop squirming, baby girl. You're not ready for what I’ll do if you keep it up.”“I can’t help it.” I really couldn’t help it. Heat was pooling down, my underwear growing wetter by the second as he continued his kisses. Thighs rubbing together and my squirming was a try of relief at the pleasant throbbing that was occuring in my core. I needed friction. I needed something more to help that feeling go away.“Aurora,” He twisted me in his lap, core firmly planted on the hard length that was beneath me. “Stop squirming.”I stopped, frustrated yet obedient. “Axel,”“I know. I can feel you soaking through my sweats.”“Then why-” “Because you don’t understand what’s happening. You don’t eve
Adjusting the knobs to the stove so my collards were off and rice was on low, I covered the sizzling cheesy pasta and slow cooked ribs with tin foil. Cooking all this food and trying to keep up with my lively family has reduced me to a tired out mess. “Food is almost done. Just have to watch the rice since it's on low. I’m g-going to go take a nap.”“I’ll watch the rice for you Aurora. They’ll be a plate already prepared for you when you come down to eat, okay?” “Thanks grandma,” I mumbled, dragging myself towards the kitchen entrance, “Night grandpa.”“It’s 3 in the afternoon, sweetheart.”“Shut up, George! You know what she meant!” “Well she could’ve said-”“What?! What could she had said without sounding stupid! Like your-” I ignored my arguing grandparents, making my way out the kitchen up the stairs to my room. I’m not usually this tired after making food. Even my grandparents' peppiness doesn’t drain me this much. This sudden tiredness confused me a little but I cou
“So?” I glanced up from the boiling greasy rice, “How’s Axel?”“Axel? He’s f-fine. Why?” I questioned, adding a little bit more seasoning into the pot. I didn’t want to add too much since the broth was already doused with it. A dash of salt was all it needed to enhance the flavor. “Well, as your grandma, I should know how your boyfriend is.” Grandma explained with a careless shrug. She lazily took a sip of her red wine, ignoring my surprised splutter. “I still can’t believe you have a boyfriend and didn’t tell me. I thought we were closer than that.” “He’s not my-I don’t have a boyfriend!” I squeaked out.She waved off what I said, “I used to say the same thing about your grandfather. But look at us now, married. Not that I saw that coming but I don’t regret it.”“But we’re really not dating. H-He hasn’t asked me out and I don’t even think he likes me like that. I’m probably not even his type. He’s p-probably used to dating tall, skinny girls who don't like to eat their problems awa
Aurora POV:“You scared her.” I stated, watching as she ducked into the safety of the restaurant's kitchen. I didn’t feel sorry for her at all. I didn’t see a reason for her to glare at me like that. It was pretty rude considering that she was on the job when she did this. Axel slid into the chair across from me, flashing me a stern glare. “She should be glad that’s all I did to her. She had no reason, no right to disrespect you like that. Nobody should be disrespecting you like that.” My stomach clench in a heated flutter at the glare he was giving me. If it was someone else glaring at me, depending on how intimidating they are, I would either be close to tears or uncomfortably nervous. I never get the feeling when it comes to Axel. A twinge of sadness was the closest thing I would get to some sort of negative emotion. Besides the sadness, I couldn’t really describe the exact feeling that would come over me whenever I get that look from him.
I opened my mouth, brain searching for something to say to that. When my mind continues to produce nothing, still too stunned to wrap my head around to what he said to me, I immediately turn my attention to my snack. I quickly stuffed a few grapes into my mouth, trying to distract myself from his heated gaze. “Such a shy princess,” Axel purred in my ear. “Is my princess thinking about us? Are you thinking about the pleasure I can give. I could have you withering underneath me, screaming my name while I-”“Grilled cheese!” I interrupted, not being able to take anymore teasing. I hope that the mention of food will completely change the topic. Plus, I’ve been craving curly fries and a grilled cheese sandwich for the past hour now. Might as well should bring up what I want now.Eyebrow arching high, his seductive mood quickly disappeared. “Grilled cheese? Do you want a grilled cheese sandwich? Are you hungry?”I nodded, finishing off the last bit of my green fruit. The last time I ate wa
Axel POV:It didn’t take long for Aurora and I to reach the library. I opened the door for her, and closely followed her inside to where she preferred to sit. After a few minutes of walking and occasional turns, I couldn’t help but to happily perk up when she led me towards a tablet that was tucked in the back, away from the annoying people and prying eyes. Though it was a table that could easily hold a few people, it was private enough that I knew we could get away with certain things if Aurora was quiet enough.I quietly scoffed, even if she was loud, who would dare try and stop what we were doing. As if anyone would, or could, do anything about it. “D-Did you want t-to s-sit somewhere e-else?” Aurora ask me, pausing in front of a chair that I assume she usually sits at. “W-We d-don’t-”I pulled out the chair, shushing my mate while gently guiding her to sit down. “Sitting here is more than fine, baby girl. I prefer sitting here rather than being out there. It’s more private and qu
Axel POV:“O-Okay. I think my beef stew is r-ready.” I watched as she grabbed two large bowls, scooping white rice into both bowls before pouring in the beef stew. The stew soaked into the white rice as the seasoned meat and vegetables mixed along the rice. It smelled as good as it looked. “I made you a b-bowl too.” She pushed one of the large bowls to me and handed me a spoon. The professor, seeing that Aurora was done with her cooking, began to make her way over to us. “Thank you Aurora.” I didn’t waste any time digging into my mates' food. I meantally groaned at the delicious taste of the meal she prepared. I don’t think I’ve tasted anything better before. The richness of the stew, mixed well with the seasoned beef, vegetables, and buttery rice. I swallowed, “Everything tasted amazing baby. So proud of you.”“It’s n-nothing really.” She waved off my compliment with a shy smile.“It’s not nothing Aurora. You are talented when it comes to culinary arts. One of my most prominent stu
Aurora pov:The rest of my classes went by uneventful. I was too busy waiting for something bad to happen to actually pay attention to any of my professors. I’m pretty sure some of them noticed, but didn’t bother to say anything because of Axel. Speaking of Axel, I shyly glanced over at said……..man. Though I’m scared he was playing around with me, I couldn’t help but to notice how manly he is. His huge body sat relaxed in the small chair. The hoodie he was wearing did no justice hiding his muscular arms and chest. It looks like if he flexed once he would rip his hoodie. My face heated slightly as I continued to stare. I really shouldn’t stare. It wasn’t polite and he might get mad at me.I quickly face forward again, trying to get back into my work. With him still on my mind, I knew it would be pointless for me to try to finish whatever work I had left. I would have to do it later. Plus class was about to end soon. There really wasn’t a point to try and continue it. I slowly began t
“This is why I hate people. They are nothing but annoying useless tools that get in my way.” Vixen grumbled out angrily, sitting me down in a seat. She plopped down beside me, giving me a glance. “You seem different, though. Your soul is pure yet you’ve been through some shit. Like bad shit.”“E-Everybody goes through b-bad s-stuff.” I responded. I began to nervously fiddling with my shirt, gnawing on my bottom lip as her glance turned into a heated stare. I don’t like talking about my past. About the stuff that has happened to me. I continued, hoping the staring would stop. “It’s l-life. T-That happens you k-know?”“Oh yeah. I know.”It turned silent between us. A comfortable silence that kind of soothed my nervous form. Vixen scares me. Scares me more than most people. Not more than Axel does. Something about him terrifies me yet made me feel happy, loved even. But she does scare me. Yet being around her made me feel comfortable and safe. It's weird. Being around these new people
I’m a loner. It’s something that I’ve decided is best for myself until I can start trusting people again. It’s something that I’ve grown used to. Something that I grew to like through my years of not having any close friends or boyfriends. It wasn’t like I didn’t like people. I just didn’t trust them. The only people I can blindly trust without a second thought are my grandparents. They were there for me when I was at my lowest. When I wanted to do everything in my power to end it all, they pushed me to keep fighting. They pushed me to not give up. That if things went tough, to turn to those who love you. They showed me that I wasn’t as worthless as I thought. They showed me that my life isn’t over because of them. I still had a future. I still had promise. “Sure you're a little broken Aurora,” My grandmother would tell me whenever I was in one of my depressing moods, “You just need a little time, sweetheart. No one is expecting you to be perfectly fine so soon after everyth
