Immediately Zara heard those words, Relief washed over her.

“Thank goodness.” She muttered under her breath.

She almost smirked at the bodyguard who looked disappointed probably because his boss canceled the meeting, but she decided he wasn’t worth it.

When he walked out of the restaurant, she exhaled.

Harry also returned to his seat, which was directly opposite hers.

“Thank you.” She flashed him a light smile.

On a normal day, she wouldn’t be smiling at him, but she had something serious and she had to keep their little beef behind.

“So what was the reason you left London?” Harry asked, as he picked a fork.

Brown eyes followed the movement of the fork and when it landed on the sliced pineapple close to her, she almost yelled out, but she quickly controlled herself.

“I caught my husband cheating.” She revealed.

She didn’t expect Harry to show his surprise, but she also didn’t expect him to remain calm, slowly munching on the pineapple.

His act was nonchalant and she wondered if he was listening to her.

“I was seven months pregnant, but I lost the baby due to some complications.”

Harry stopped chewing when she said that, his shoulders slumped. For a brief moment, his gaze softened and slowly, he set down the fork.

When he didn’t say a word, Zara continued, at least she knew he was listening. “He didn’t visit the hospital, he didn’t care about my mental health after the loss of the child…” She took a brief pause when her eyes became blurry because of the tears gathering in it.

She but her lip, determined not to give Harry the satisfaction of seeing her cry.

She sniffled, fighting back the tears. “He asked for a divorce when I returned home, but I’m yet to sign the papers.”

“Why didn’t you sign the papers?” Curiosity hint at Harry’s tone.

Zara didn’t immediately reply. She knew she should have signed the divorce papers and disappeared completely, but she didn’t want Felix to think he had the upper hand, she didn’t want him to think he could control her.

When she recalled Harry was waiting for a reply, she thought of an excuse, “I was in pains.”

“So you still in love with him or what?”

“Feelings don’t disappear overnight, Harry.” She replied. “I guess you don’t know, because your love life is a complete mess.”

Harry scoffed at her remark. “If you’re making proper use of your time, you won’t even have a second to think about love.”

“What are you implying?”

“I’m saying, if you think of a man, you’re probably not busy enough.” He stated.

Zara chuckled lightly. “It sounds odd coming from you.”

After their witty exchange, Harry’s expression changed. His eyebrows drew closer and his gaze hardened.

“What do you need my help for?”

Zara took a deep breath as she silently reassured herself that she could go on with what she was about to say.

“So I was thinking, since you are obviously still single…” Her gaze moved to his fingers before moving back to his face. “And I’m done with Felix, why don’t we go on with the marriage plans.”

“If I heard you right, you want us to get married?” Harry asked to be sure he heard her clearly.

She nodded. “Yes. After all, we were supposed to get married ever since?”

Harry let out a dry chuckle. “Two years ago, we agreed on getting married all for our parent’s benefits and our wedding was aired… Wanna know what the internet was like when you ran away?”

“Harry…” She tried to speak but he didn’t let her.

“Popular billionaire’s son, Harry woods, got jilted on his wedding day, what an embarrassing moment.”

“I’m sorry, I was dumb then.”

“So you think it’s my time to be dumb now by accepting to get married to you?” He scoffed.

He pushed his chair back and headed towards the door.

“Harry wait!” She ran after him, and when she got to his front, she went down on her knees.

Harry’s eyes flashed in surprise and awe. He didn’t think he would live to see this day.

Zara Wellington kneeling before him? It was iconic.

Behind her pleading and persuasion, he sensed her desperation and he couldn’t help but to wonder why she wanted the marriage now after running away two years ago.

“Please Harry, you are my only hope.” As she begged him, tears streamed down her face.

“Why now?” He didn’t want to remain confused.

“I have no where to go, my dad doesn’t see me as his daughter anymore, but if you… if you agree to get married to me, he might consider accepting me back because the reason he disowned me was because I didn’t get married to you.” She explained, sobbing in between each words.

“So you want your title back?” He asked, crossing his arms.

He was savoring the moment, enjoying the fact that she got a taste of her medicine

“Yes.” She replied quickly.

“So if I agree to get married to you, will you run away just like you did two years ago?” His lips curved into a smirk.

“No. Let’s get married today.” Zara proposed, her eyes filled with determination.

“I’ve never seen you so desperate, Zara.” His tone was mocking.

“Is that a yes?”

“Get up and I might consider.”

She stood up immediately, wiping the tears off her face with the back of her palms.

“Oh Zara, you look pathetic.”

She lowered her head in shame.

If someone had given her a prophesy that a day would come when she would have to kneel in front of her enemy and beg him, she would have had the person locked up in prison.

“It’s getting dark, let’s get out of here. We will continue the discussion on our way home.”

“Home?” She looked up immediately.

“Have anywhere else to go?” He asked with his brows raised slightly.

“No.” She shook her head.

“I thought as much.”

Harry took two steps forward and the restaurant door opened automatically.

Zara trailed behind him and when they got to where the cars were parked, the door of the rolls Royce was opened quickly by one of the bodyguards and when Harry didn’t enter first, Zara knew she had to.

As soon as she got in, she was welcomed by the car’s refreshing smell and the cold air coming from the air condition. It was what she needed at that moment, something to cool her head.

When Harry entered, the smell of vanilla and cinnamon overtook the car’s scent.

“Sir, where are we heading to?” The driver asked.

“Home.” He replied, pulling down his tie.

In less than a minute, the car hit the road.

Zara badly wanted to break the silence and ask Harry to continue with the conversation, but she decided to remain quiet, concluding Harry didn’t want to speak about it because of the driver’s presence.

She took out her phone from her old purse and she didn’t know Harry was staring at her until he spoke up.

“What brand is this?”

She clenched her fists tightly. “It’s not a brand.” The urge to scream those words, but she had to say it calmly.

Harry chuckled and looked away.

She cast him a glare before focusing on her phone. As she strolled through I*, a post got her attention, she immediately scrolled back and when read through the post, her grip on her phone tightened.
