Friday . . .

Derek opened the penthouse door to Whitney Bartholomew. There wasn’t a gray or white hair in her brown hair that flowed straight down her back. She wore a skin tight, black body suit that showed every curve she had. She had a long leopard print shawl that hung on the crooks of her arms.

“Derek, darling,” she said with a smile. She kissed him on both cheeks.

Derek kissed her on one cheek. “How are you, gorgeous?”

“Wonderful,” she said as he let her in the penthouse. She looked around as he closed the door and locked it.

“This place looks like a bachelor pad. Your new bride hasn’t had a chance to redecorate, yet?”

Derek was taken aback. “You heard I got married all the way in London?”

“I still read New York blogs and the Times online, darling boy.”

“Ah. My wife hasn’t been here since we got engaged. And she has her own house. I bought it for her as a wedding gift.”
