Chapter 9

Then when he touched my hands and then my chin then kissed me I felt a sensation that I couldn't explain. After he left I sat there for what  felt like ages.  It took a table booking to get me off my concentration of Max. 

Sunday came around so quickly.  Waking up and showering I sat I front of my cupboard deciding what to wear. It's thirty five degrees today going to be so hot. I hate going out on hot days,  I hate showing off my arms and legs. I have nothing to wear. The faded  bruises and scars are so visible to the eye I hate people feeling sorry for me.  

I decided to wear my black denim jeans, white skivvy to cover the scar underneath my chin, red vest and sneakers. I straightened my hair then applied my make up. I have  never applied makeup on before in the heat, hopefully it will stay on all day.  

As soon as the bell rang I took my bag and went downstairs.

When I opened the door he greeted me with a smile and stunned look on his face.  I stared  at him not know why.  As soon as he saw my smile vanish he said " although you look beautiful, you are going to melt in what your wearing. It's going to be thirty five degrees outside" " it's ok I'll be fine. I replied. Not knowing why I even bothered to come.  Pretending to struggle with locking the door,  I could feel my eyes tearing up. Trying to blink them away. I looked over my shoulder and back to the door and  said " if your going to be embarrassed by me we can leave for another day.  I don't mind." As soon as I composed myself I turned back to him. He looked uncomfortable but said "no I didn't mean it like that it's just already so hot and what your wearing....... look forget it let's go I've made reservations for breakfast  around the corner."  

It wasn't a long walk but he noticed me limping, after a few minutes He looked at me and asked " are you ok ? your limping. " Yes it's fine it's an old injury and if I walk long it hurts but I'll be fine when I sit down." I replied. " I'm sorry I would of bought the car but I thought it's a nice morning for a walk" he said sadly. "Please I'm ok don't worry" I replied. We got to the cafe and waited to be seated everyone was wearing summery clothes I did look odd I could feel people staring at me. My face flushed I just looked at the ground hoping it would open and swallow me up. Why did I come?   

Max was staring at her staring at her sneakers.  Her face is beautiful her body in what she's wearing looks amazing but bloody hell isn't she hot? People are staring at us wondering why she's wearing that on such a hot day.   Her limping broke me heart. I remembered as soon as she said it's an old injury what the hospital had said the day I bought her in it's was broken from when she was little and wasn't looked at so therefore her ankle didn't heal properly Every time I think of that bastard father of hers I get angry.  Jenna must of noticed and saw my face change. He's angry at me at what I'm wearing should I just run back home I thought.  Max smiled at Jenna  but she didn't smile back her eyes teared up at him they broke his heart but before Jenna knew what happened he bent down and kissed her lips they were soft and beautiful. He give her little butterfly kisses and as soon as he felt her respond  the waitress was asking them to follow her to their seats.  They sat down and she gave them a menu each. Max started off by ordering two coffees in mugs. Jenna smiled  at the thought as he remembered how she liked he coffee.  I ordered my poached eggs on toast with avocado while he ordered a big breakfast.  We talked about everything and anything mostly he did the talking and i listened.  I found out he was an only child and he told me how his parents were unhappy when he joined the police force but unfortunately there was nothing they could do. We laughed we talked like long lost friends I throughly enjoyed our morning together the food the atmosphere all was great it made me really happy I have never felt like this .  As he came to pay the bill he said "I have a surprise for you ". I was so excited I've never had a surprise before.
