Chapter Thirty Seven

"Hello, Harper," Josh greets.

I smile warmly. "Hi, Josh."

"How are you doing?" he asks.

"Doing great," I reply, a hint of excitement in my voice.

"It's been one week, and I've waited for you to forgive me. Please forgive me," Josh pleads.

His words reach me through the phone, stirring a mix of emotions within me. Amelia and Kate exchange glances, their curiosity evident.

"Okay, I forgive you," I tell Josh.

Surprised, he asks, "That was fast. Why so fast?"

"You said it's been one week. I don't want to stay angry with you forever, even if you don't think highly of me," I explain.

Josh sounds relieved. "Thanks for forgiving me. I want to make things better."

I smile, feeling a little happier too. "Let's try to make things right, Josh. We can't change what happened, but we can learn more about each other."

Amelia and Kate nod in agreement. They know that forgiving can mend friendships.

"Where are you?" I ask.

"I'm at home," he answers.

"What are you doing?" I wonder.

"Nothing, it's the wee
