Yvonne's POV

The bottle of wine was almost empty, which would have been sad if I didn’t have another bottle on standby. It wouldn’t be as good, but it didn’t matter after the first bottle dulled our senses. I lay down on my bed, watching Cynthia walk into my closet.

“This is amazing. I love your closet. I want a big apartment just so I can have a huge closet,” she mumbled.

I laughed. “I’m going to be selling a lot of that stuff to support myself if I don’t get a job soon.”

She shook her head. “No! That is a crime in itself.”

“Come on, let’s play dress-up and go out. We never get to go out. You’re busy, I’m busy and now that you are not so busy, I want to party!” she shouted, her hands raised in the air.

I groaned. “The last thing I want to do is go out. Look at me,” I said, waving a hand over my lounge-around-the-house outfit.

“Come on, I want to dance. I want to let my hair loose and party,” she said, flipping through the rows of dresses in my closet.

I got off the bed and followed he

Yvonne's POVI smiled. “Very perceptive. This isn’t my thing. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be a drag.”He shrugged. “Not a problem. I see a friend I’m going to go say hi to. Try and have some fun,” he said before abandoning me at the table.I couldn’t blame him. There was no chance he was getting laid by me. I looked around the room and realized it really wasn’t my scene. Everyone looked so young and immature. In the back of my mind, I thought about Kylian. He was a man. Mature, dominating, and so much more than the guys I watched grinding against anything that moved on the dance floor. I was a little embarrassed for them.I missed Kylian. He was a big, fat jerk, but I missed him. I knew there was more to him than the tough exterior he presented to the world. I had caught glimpses of it and knew with a little time and energy, I could get to that part of him.“You look lonely. Do you want to dance?” A male voice cut through my Kylian thoughts.I looked up to see a guy, I couldn’t bring my

Kylian's POVI scanned the dance floor and noticed a woman in a blue dress that immediately conjured up some wild fantasies. The way her hips moved, her arms stretching to the ceiling and her head rolling back and forth looked familiar. It reminded me of Yvonne. Hell, now I was really losing my mind.I was seeing her in other women.I sucked down the scotch, doing my best not to stare at the woman in the blue dress, but something kept drawing me back to her.“She’s hot,” Jason said from beside me.I turned to look at him. “Indeed.”When I looked back, she was gone. I immediately scanned the crowd, trying to find her. She had left the dance floor. I hoped she hadn’t left the club. I wanted to watch her some more. It was then I saw her standing next to a small table. I could only see her profile, but I would know that face anywhere. It was Yvonne. She was chatting with a guy, smiling, her perfect lips sucking on a little red straw as she flirted.“If you’ll excuse me, I need to take car

Kylian's POVShe looked murderous. “You have no clue. Absolutely clueless.” I scoffed. “Good defense, Yvonne.”“I’ve told you the truth. I agreed to have lunch with him. I didn’t know what he was doing. Maybe he did set it up for you to catch us together. Obviously, he knows you well enough to predict how you would react. I didn’t. I’m glad I found out now, though.”I smirked. “You didn’t think I would be upset to find out my fake fiancée was screwing around with my brother? I mean, even in the strangest, most forward-thinking worlds that has to be some kind of violation.”She shrugged. “Aren’t you the one who said you felt nothing for me?” she shot back.“We were sleeping together,” I hissed, hating that I felt jealous at all. “Sleeping together? Is that what you call it? Good to know,” she said, a look of disgust on her face. She looked away, pretending interest in the people behind me, moving their bodies in time with the slow beat of drums booming through the speakers all around u

Yvonne's POVI am not going to let him ruin another day of my life.Yesterday had been a complete disaster. After running into him on Friday night, I spent most of yesterday a complete wreck. I was not the type to let a man get to me, but he did. I would always regret signing the contract. It had been stupid. It was pure greed that led me to it. I was greedy with my company. I wanted it all. I had screwed up by not raising the prices and being proactive, and I had driven it right into a financial black hole. That was on me.The CEO position wasn’t mine to hold. I sold my company to keep it alive and should have been gracious enough to take a step down. Hindsight was definitely twenty-twenty, but unfortunately, it was always a little too late. I had been a fool to jump at the opportunity he presented. I wasn’t prone to such foolishness.“It’s over,” I mumbled, sipping my coffee in the kitchen. It was over. I had no idea what came next. I was expecting some kind of separation notice or

Yvonne's POV“You don’t need him or his negativity,” I said aloud, trying to make myself believe the words. It wasn’t working. I hated the idea of him touching another woman, sharing his body with someone else. I thought about his demand to have an heir. That would only happen one way. It actually made me feel ill to think of him doing what he did to me with some other woman who could never feel the way I did. Sure, his money, good looks, and his skill in the bedroom would make another woman very happy, but she would never really appreciate him like I had. I knew there was more to him. I wanted to put in the time to really get to know him and make our partnership work. I was convinced another woman would simply want him for what he could offer and not care about him in the slightest.I took a deep breath and once again pushed him from my thoughts. I lathered my loofah and cleansed my body, finding myself right back to thoughts of Kylian and his hands roaming my body the way only he co

Kylian's POVI kept thinking I should call Yvonne about this or that as I combed through her company’s financials and projections. I had a lot of questions and no one else knew the business like her. How could anyone else compare to Yvonne? It was her baby and no one else could possibly understand the drive behind making it successful. I sighed, wondering if I had made a mistake. I hadn’t been able to get the image of her walking out of the club out of my mind. I was a dick. I knew that. I wasn’t entirely convinced her tears weren’t contrived, but there was a little niggle of doubt that wouldn’t let up.I had debated calling Kieran and asking him for his version of events but didn’t want to appear weak. I wanted to know if his story would match Yvonne’s. I wanted to ask him directly why he went behind my back to have lunch with my fiancée. It was scandalous and deceitful. There was no way it was an innocent meeting. He was up to something. The guy had me right wher

Kylian's POV“They are friends! They met in college and got along great! Your brother isn’t interested in her beyond catching up. If she’s supposed to be a part of the family, wouldn’t it be wise to have them actually like each other?” she snapped. In my mind I wanted to say no but knew that was the wrong answer. “She’s my fiancée, soon to be my wife, and hopefully the mother of my child one day. I don’t care if she and Kieran get along. It isn’t like he and I spend a lot of time together.”“Well maybe that should change. You’ve got a chip on your shoulder and I’m about tired of it. You two need to work out whatever is between you. I don’t like having my sons fighting each other. Your brother did nothing wrong,” she scolded.I sighed. “Mom, you didn’t see them together,” I said, feeling a bit like I was whining.“I don’t have to. I think you need to think twice about turning this into a family feud,” she said and ended the call.I stared at the phone in total

Yvonne's POVI was quite literally climbing the walls of my apartment. I was precariously perched on the back of my sofa, using it as a ladder as I hung a painting. I had rearranged the furniture in my living room and was now moving pictures around to go with the new design. Yesterday, I had cleaned out and rearranged my kitchen cabinets. Making breakfast this morning had been quite an adventure because I couldn’t remember where I had put everything.I had to get a job or a life, preferably both before I really lost my mind. Kylian had yet to call. I heard zero from the human resources department and had no idea what to expect. I couldn’t call him, I decided. I didn’t want him to think I was begging for my job or him. No way was I going to grovel. The scene at the club had been replaying in my head for too long.I stepped off the couch, put my hands on my hips, and shook my head. It wasn’t what I wanted. I needed change and simply moving the couch from one side of

Kylian's POVShe was back a few minutes later with a fresh bottle. She handed it to me before sitting next to me, her head leaning against my shoulder as I fed our daughter.“You can go back to bed,” I assured her.“It’s okay, I like sitting with you. I haven’t gotten to see you much these past few days,” she said.I nodded. “I’m sorry. I tried to get out of that meeting yesterday, but it required my attention. Kieran wasn’t familiar with the company and I didn’t want to leave him high and dry.”“Don’t be sorry. I’m being needy.”“No, you’re not.”“How is Kieran?” she asked.I smiled in the darkness. “Good. Something is up with him, but I’m not sure what. I think it has to do with a woman. He doesn’t want to take over my job—I’ve offered,” I joked.“I’m glad you two are getting along. I really do like all your brothers,” she said.I smirked. “That’s because you don’t really know them. Trust me, if you did, you wouldn’t be quite as generous with your summation of their characters.”“St

Kylian's POVI heard the soft cries and blinked several times, orientating myself to the room. I listened a little longer to see if she would fall back to sleep on her own and realized it wasn’t going to happen. I stretched my arms before swinging my legs over the side of the bed to get up. I felt Yvonne stir and knew she was waking up as well.“Shh, go back to sleep. I’ve got her,” I told her, putting my hand on her shoulder.I had been trying to do my part, getting up for at least one of the middle-of-the-night feedings. Fortunately, Jaime was a content little girl and was down to only needing to wake once in the night for a bottle. She was a healthy, strong girl and required a lot of food. The first few weeks home from the hospital had been grueling. We were both up for a good two weeks straight before we finally managed to develop a routine that allowed everyone to get some sleep.“Thank you,” Yvonne mumbled. She didn’t need to thank me for doing something I was supposed to be doi

Yvonne's POVThe next thirty minutes flew by. I barely had a chance to breathe before I was holding my baby girl in my arms.“I think you must have set a new record for first time moms,” the doctor said with a grin.It was at that moment my doctor came into the room. “I missed it?” he asked with surprise. The other doctor gave him the rundown while I marveled at my baby girl.“Would you like to hold your daughter?” I asked Kylian, handing her to him.He took her, held her tiny head in his big hand, and stared at her, tears in his eyes before the nurse swooped in and took her to be weighed and cleaned up.“We have a baby,” he said with complete amazement.I smiled and nodded. “Looks that way. I know you wanted a boy,” I said, feeling a little like I let him down.He looked at me, his eyes wide, shaking his head. “No way! I wanted a baby. You girls are exactly what I want. I couldn’t imagine anything else. She’s perfect. She’s everything I could ever want. The two of you are my entire r

Yvonne's POVI slowly awoke, trying to figure out what it was that had stirred me out of a deep sleep. I didn’t have to pee, which was what usually woke me up.I lay awake a few minutes before I decided it must have been nothing and closed my eyes, hoping to sleep a few more hours.“Ow,” I muttered when a sharp pain ripped across my lower back. That was when I knew. I sat up, rubbing my lower back. I propped my pillows against the headboard and lay against them, staring at the clock that silently announced it was three o’clock in the morning. I waited, my eyes sliding closed until another sharp pain cut across my back, wrapping around to envelope my stomach in a vise. My eyes went to the clock. It had been ten minutes. I flipped on the bedside lamp.“Kylian,” I whispered, gently touching his bare shoulder.“Hmm.” He moaned, still half asleep.“Kylian,” I whispered again. He rolled to his back, blinking as he looked up at me. “What is it? Hungry?” he asked.I smiled and shook my head.

Kylian's POVWe finished our dinner before Desmond excused himself to go home to his own family. Cynthia left a few minutes after, leaving Yvonne and me alone in our home. It was ours. We were sharing a home and it felt great. I had been nervous for nothing.“Are you okay with all this?” She pointed to the boxes littering the living room and lining the hallway as we moved through our home.I looked at the boxes labeled with her name and smiled. “I am very okay with this. I can’t wait to start this life with you.”She laughed. “Look around. It’s started.” I smiled. “I guess it has.”“I need to call the stores first thing tomorrow morning and have all my deliveries changed to come here,” she mused aloud.“All your deliveries?” I asked. She grinned. “I’ve been doing some shopping for the nursery. I didn’t want it all sitting in my apartment for months, so I had the deliveries scheduled for next month. I figured that would give me plenty of time to get the nursery in order.”“You’ve bough

Kylian's POVIn keeping with the way Yvonne and I did everything, we moved her into my place in a matter of two days. We liked to move fast. I couldn’t bear to be apart from her and wasn’t about to let her get away. My penthouse was plenty big enough for all of us. The moving truck, along with a fleet of movers, had just brought in the last box. We were sticking with my furniture for now with plans to redo the place with both of our tastes reflected. That would come later.I could hear my beautiful wife and her friend chatting in the room we were making into the nursery. For too long, the room had sat empty. It had been outfitted to be a guest room with a large bed and dresser, but no one had ever slept in the bed. I forgot the room was even there most of the time. The maid dusted in there and put fresh linens on the bed once a week, but I never bothered going into it.Now, it would be my child’s nursery. Yvonne had already informed me we were not finding out the sex of the baby until

He stood, walking with me back into his apartment, my pussy still squeezing his dick inside me as he strolled through his home with my naked, quivering body draped over him.He lowered me to his bed, standing and pulling out of my body. I looked up at him, our eyes locking in the candlelight. It was then that I realized I was lying on more rose petals. There were candles flickering all around the room.I smiled up at him. “You were that confident, huh?”He grinned, raising an eyebrow. “I wanted to be prepared for anything.” “And then I demanded you take me on the balcony.” He laughed. “That was not expected.”His smile faded, and it was quickly replaced with a look of pure heat. His hands reached out to caress my thighs before he gently tugged, rolling me to my side and then to my stomach. I quickly got to my knees, my elbow

Yvonne's POVTasting his lips sent my body into some crazy, passion-filled frenzy. I couldn’t seem to stop myself. I wanted to eat the man alive. I felt like a ravenous animal as I plunged my tongue into his mouth while pressing my body close. I wanted him. I was desperate for his touch. I had been longing to hear him say the words and now that I had, it was like a switch had been flipped. I practically climbed his body, trying to get closer.“Shh,” he whispered, pulling his mouth from mine as he moved his lips to my neck, sucking and biting.I was so hot and turned on. I was already wet. I could feel the dampness between my legs. My head went back, looking past the twinkle lights strung across his balcony to the stars above. Being outside, in the fresh air and under the canopy of stars barely visible with the city lights flooding the area, was erotic. That wild side of me was feeding off the idea of being outside, in the middle of a bustling city with millions of people all around us

I had a partner in life.I had only this one chance to impress her and prove I was worthy of her partnership. In her presence, I suddenly felt unworthy. I should have done more. I should have hired a violinist to play music or had fireworks scheduled to go off. I looked at her, my heart in my throat, waiting for her to answer me.“Kylian, you didn’t have to do th
