Selena's POV

I stood there, feeling a sense of frustration and disorientation. All my previous thoughts and tribulations flooded my mind again, making me wonder if I was in another trance.

"No, no, no," I muttered under my breath as I placed my hands on the walls by my hand. Just a minute ago, I couldn't even touch them both at the same time, but now I could. It wasn't just me... I wasn't just imagining it-the walls were closing in on me.

I closed my eyes as beads of sweat rolled down my eyelids. I tried my best to hone in on the problem and not panic but no matter what I did, my mind drifted to the walls surrounding me. I muttered a spell under my breath as I tried to connect with the Aegis stone but I felt nothing.

Suddenly, I realized that my arm was bent. I looked at my right hand and found it arched up. The walls had moved when my eyes were closed.

"Oh, no," I whispered under my breath as I turned and ran back down the passageway, taking as many turns and bends as possible. "Hel

Selena’s POVI walked over to the window and looked out, trying to clear my head. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the landscape. It was beautiful, but I couldn't appreciate it. My mind was too busy, too caught up in thoughts and worries.I rested my arms on the windowsill and took in a deep breath. The cold afternoon breeze blew pass, ruffling my hair. I arranged it as my eyes traveled down to the garden the servants were working on. I sighted Kato amongst them, collecting some of the fruits and vegetables the workers gathered. Seeing him brought to mind the plans that I had conjured and I exhaled deeply. "What am I doing?" I muttered under my breath as I placed my face into my palm. I was going out of the moral conducts that I was to follow as a Seer for... revenge. If the students that I was teaching were to hear of this, what would they think of me?But still, the same wolf I was talking myself to spare was the same that castes I and his son out and left us to die.

Selena's POVAs we continued deeper into the cave, the guard's demeanor began to change. He seemed tensed, walking and trembling. I noticed the sudden change but attributed it to the cold in the cave. Still, it felt really off that it had happened just after telling him about my suspicions. "Seer, can I ask you something?" he suddenly said, his voice low and cautious as he turned to face me. I could see a hint of fear in his eyes and it instantly caused me to stop in my steps. I nodded, feeling a sense of curiosity grow within me. "Go on," I muttered, my voice echoing against the stone walls, reverberating through the cave. Seeing how loud it was caused me to instantly reduce my tone. "What is it?" I asked, my voice now in a whisper. The guard seemed to hesitate, his eyes looking round the cave, as though searching for something before finally locking on mine. "What exactly did you see in the passage way?" he asked, a deliberate tone masked on his face.I suddenly felt a sense of u

Selena's POV"Your attention, seer, is needed in the house of Gregory. His wolf needs healing. It's on the verge of death, " the guard informed me in his deep voice as he walked before me." I see, we would get there before dusk, but I have an urgent need to attend to," I replied, trying to maintain a neutral voice as he jolted me out of my thoughts. "Alright, my lady."The fading light of the day cast long shadows across the landscape as we emerged out of the cave, more like skeletal fingers reaching out to snatch at my ankles. My stomach churn at the smell of damp air and decaying leaves, a morbid perfume filled my nostrils, making me feel like a little teen werewolf again. But I still couldn't shake off the from that something was terribly wrong, something that would shake the authority defining moonstone pack. The Aeges stone itself, the grand and ancient artifact of protection in the pack seemed artificial, which means it's been stolen or something."Zane needs to hear about thi

Selena's POVThe warrior led me through the organized camp, the sound of laughter and local music filling the air. Tents were made, bearing the symbol of Rowan's pack. They surely had increased in number, and this made me nervous to wonder what the occasion was.I could feel the weight of the gaze of other warriors upon me, a little whisper between two or more and the chanting of 'seer, seer," followed by their bowing in reverence. As we walked deeper and closer to the fire, the trees seemed to grow closer together, it's branches tangling overhead. I could feel tension build in me as I got closer to the fire. Finally, we got to the centre of the camp. I took a glance behind me and I saw the guard walking closely behind me."You said you .....""I know what I said Seer, but I just couldn't stand you walk around this sort of gathering alone," he replied, cutting my short as he looked around the place with profound irritation."Hey watch what you say," the warrior, who picked up an off

Selena's POVAs soon as I took the last bite of the meat, Rowan stood up in his usual majestic form."Seer, I think it's time we attend the grand dinner. We mustn't keep your Alpha waiting, " he said, his lead warrior getting up too."Certainly we mustn't," I replied, taking a step backward and bumping on the guard that followed me."Are you alright, my lady?" he asked, jolting as he realized what he called me."My lady? Ha! the guard calls the seer a lady," one of the warrior standing close by mocked, the whole camping bursting into laughter."Enough! I won't have anyone of you make fun of the seer. Not now, not ever!" Raven roared, trying hard to top the laughter with her voice. She was successful as the laughter died almost immediately.Rowan just stared at me, almost expressionless as he watched what was going on. "You'd sit beside me in my chariot, if you wish. There's no much time left," he finally said, walking away from the fire."I think it's best to go with him," the guard w

Selena's POV"Remember what we discussed, don't you?" I asked Kato, as he looked at me in bewilderment."Of course, my lady," he whispered, turning sideways. "Hey you, I'll call when I need you, and you too," he said, pointing at two chefs. They both looked at him in surprise as they put down their gloves, leaving the kitchen. He also ordered some more workers out of the kitchen, citing some excuse about needing to fetch more ingredients from the storage room. I nodded, looking around and noting that the kitchen was narrowly emptied, left for Kato and two other staffs."Just as you wished, Seer," Kato said, bowing slightly, his hands humbly behind his back. He looked so innocent in his attire, his thoughts seemingly far away from any bad intentions.I nodded again. "You've done well. I won't be long. I just need to verify a certain cooking process, " I said, tracing the outer parts of the container of poison round my cloak.I turned and made my way over to the counter where the speci

  • The Betrayed Luna Strikes Back   Chapter 71

Selena's POVWith a newfound sense of purpose, I turned and walked back out into the dining hall, ready to face whatever lay ahead. The music was still playing, the laughter and chatter of the pack members still filling the air. But I knew that I had changed, that I had grown. I had faced my demons, and I had come out on top.As I walked back to my seat, I caught sight of Raven, sitting across from me with a smug look on her face. But I didn't feel any anger or hatred towards her. Instead, I felt a sense of pity, a sense of sadness. She was so consumed by her own hatred and anger, so blinded by her own desires that prompted her to act against me back then.I shook my head, feeling a sense of disappointment wash over me. As I sat back down in my seat, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The night was still young, and I knew that there were still many challenges ahead. But I was ready, I was prepared. I was a seer, a healer. And I would always stand by my principles, no matter

Selena's POVAs the pack's members watched in silence, Rowan's eyes bored into Zane's daring him to disagree."This can't be, Rowan. There's no such thing as poison in any food here," Zane said, his expression turning sour as he thought of the possibilities of such."Then the chefs should check the food, nothing more, nothing less," Rowan said."Rowan stop all these," Raven said, seemingly getting irritated at her brother's incessant demands."If we're going to check the food," Rowan started, his voice firm as he ignored his sister, "then we need to do it properly. I suggest one of the chefs try the food, that's pretty much not a big deal, is it?"I just sat there, watching as the drama unfolded. Did he eavesdrop on any of my conversations with Kato? What gave him the 'hunch' of poisoning, on Raven's meal to be specific?Zane who was already standing took two steps backwards, his eyes widening in surprise and disgust."What?" Zane exclaimed. "You can't be serious! We can't just ask on

Zane's POVI sat on my throne, my eyes fixed on my sister Karen as she paced back and forth in front of me. Her face was twisted with anger and hatred, her eyes blazing with a fierce intensity."Zane, you have to do it," she said, her voice low and urgent. "You have to sentence Selena to death."I nodded solemnly, trying to keep my expression neutral. I knew Karen had no idea that I was the one who helped Selena on that fateful night. And I was not about to let that secret out now."I understand your concerns, Karen," I said, trying to sound as serious as possible. "But we have to make sure that we follow the proper procedures. We can't just sentence someone to death without a trial."Karen's face turned red with rage. "You're not taking this seriously, Zane," she spat. "Selena is a threat to our pack, to our very way of life. She has to be stopped."I nodded again, trying to appease my sister. "I understand that you're upset, Karen. But we have to be careful. We can't let our emotion

Selena's POVAs I struggled to get a hold of my composure, Elara's voice cut through the silence like a knife, snapping me into reality. "So Seer," she said, her eyes slightly narrowing as she turned toward me. "What is your intended course of action in our pack?A feeling of wariness rose up, as though there was something not quite straightforward about her question. I didn't immediately answer, taking a little extra time with my choice of words."I plan on helping the pack however I can," I said, trying to be as vague as possible. "I have certain. abilities that may be useful to the pack."Elara's eyes seemed to bore into mine, as if rummaging for any hidden motives inside me. "I see," she said, her tone dripping with skepticism. "And what makes you think you can help us, Seer? We have struggled with certain issues, and we have not been able to find a solution for them.I sensed that Elara was trying to probe me, testing whether I knew more than I was letting on. Selena's P.O.V.As we rode through the pack on horseback, Rowan took the lead on his own horse while I was on my horse right after him. The pack watched as we passed, curiosity and reverie upon their faces. He led the horse along twisting pathways, showing me landmarks and various other features. I followed him on horseback, scanning the surroundings. We passed a huge stone fountain where some of the young wolves were playing and laughing with each other. We passed several cabins built of wood, every one of them having various wood carvings with colors and bright tapestry. As we approached the Great Pack House, I could feel the strange energy emanating from that building-a sense of power and history that seemed to seep from the very stones themselves.Rowan drew rein, stopping us in front of a large pack house. Turning to me, his pride showed in his shining eyes. "Welcome to the Royal Pack House, Seer," he said, proud, his voice low. "This is the centre of our pack, our family home wh

Selena's POV"You've master the art of horse riding, I can tell," Rowan complimented as we approached the large gates of his pack. "There's more to you than a seer."I gave no reply to him as I silently led the horse to into the pack, trying hard to avoid the gazes of the people."The Seer's here. It's him," the pack members murmured as I rode alongside Rowan into the pack."The Seer would bring fortune and good tidings, blessings to you Seer," a little werewolf exclaimed, waving at me with full energy. I smiled down at her little face, memories of the pack I was born and bred flooding me. A wave of nostalgia washed over me at that point as i still galloped on the horse. The familiar buildings, scent damp earth and wildflowers enveloping me.I was home.Still on the horse, I closed my eyes, letting the memories flood into my heart and consume a greater part of me. I instantly recalled running through these woods as a young werewolf of the royal lineage, my paws pounding against the fa

Selena's POV"Why do you look bothered?" Rowan asked, peering into my eyes intently as he leaned closer to me."There's something I feel I should know, Seer."I couldn't hide my surprise at his question, and I quickly looked away, trying to compose myself. "I'm fine," I said, trying to sound nonchalant. "Just a little...preoccupied with the construction plans."Rowan raised an eyebrow, his eyes glinting with skepticism. "I see," he said, his voice dripping with doubt. "Well, if you're sure you're okay...then I'll let it drop. For now."I felt a shiver run down my spine at his words, and I quickly looked away, trying to hide my reaction. But as I glanced back at Rowan, I couldn't help but feel like he had seen right through me.And as I turned my horse around, preparing to leave, I couldn't shake the feeling that Rowan was watching me, his eyes boring into my back like a brand.I urged my horse forward, feeling a sense of relief wash over me as I put distance between myself and Rowan. • The Betrayed Luna Strikes Back   Chapter 81

Selena's POVAs I rode alone on the horse, the rhythmic thud of the horse's hooves on the earthly terrain lured me into a state of deep contemplation. My mind seemed to be in a conflict between my desires for Zane and Rowan. Earlier on I thought my mind had been long occupied with nothing but my planned revenge against Rowan, but seeing him this past few days, all my mind could think of was the way his attention on me sent shivers down my spine.Zane, ever loving and caring, also occupied my mind, the feeling of his flexible muscles on me whenever he wraps me with his arms, his gentle deep commanding voice and his tall stand. His piercing blue eyes and chiseled features etched on my memory as the trees seemed to close in behind me, it's branches tangling together in it's own pattern. One thing was for sure, Rowan would get what's coming to him. Raven too. But it would take a greater courage than I thought to fulfil my long desire of revenge and complete conquer.I sat still on the sad

Selena's POVAs we walked silently through the corridors, the howling of long condemned prisoners rented through the air. I paid attention to the sounds they made, hoping to perhaps hear the familiar growling of Xaren. But I heard none."We need to get you disguised," Zane said, turning towards me and cutting through my thought process. "We can't have Rowan see you as you are, your true Identity."I nodded, understanding fully.Surprisingly, Zane reached into his cloak and pulled out a small bag."Take, this would be enough disguise while you are away," he said, handing me the bag.Taking the bag, I zipped it open, pulling out a pair of male fits. I quickly went into an enclosure and changed into them, feeling an odd sense of familiarity as I dressed into the male clothes. I was already getting use to the male's perspective.Zane handed me a cloak as soon as got out, which I wrapped round my shoulders. "One more thing," he said, putting his hand into his pocket and pulling out a sma

Selena's POV "But Zane," I started, looking into his eyes. "The Aeges stone cannot be wielded without the authority of the Seer. " " That's what we thought, but she insisted that there are other ways of using it to determine the truth," Zane replied. "No, that can't be true," I said, taking a step backwards. Things were just happening so fast. "Take it easy Selena, come," he said, drawing me closer to him, the metal bars our only demarcation. "Whatever happens, I'll make sure your life and existence comes before mine." That was so sweet of him. At least I felt protected, but not from the Aeges stone I knew. If wielded wrongly it could harm or kill even an innocent werewolf. Then I remembered. "Zane. There's something I think you should know. The Aeges stone, " I paused, looking into his eyes. " The last time I observed it, it looked... fake." I had expected him to flare up, to react, but he kept calm, his entire being in rapt attention. "We'll get to the bottom of that. But

Selena's POVAs the day passed by, the silence in the cell became more and more oppressive, it's thickness seeming to overshadow me. Pacing back and forth in the cell, my mind raced with thoughts and doubts. Would Zane ever come for me? Would I end up here forever?Karen would surely desire that greatly. As the hours passed by, my thoughts quickly turned to desperation. I was hungry and thirsty, and the cold, damp air was starting to seep into my bones."Help, anybody," I managed to cry with the last breath that I could possibly muster. But there was not reply from anyone.I wrapped my hands around myself, trying to warm myself up, but it was no use. The darkness seemed to press around me, prompting me to close my eyes and try to focus on breathing. At least that was the only process I could hold on to for survival.I slowly began to lose hope. Maybe I'd be left to die here. Maybe it was my fate, written in the stars. But just as I was about to completely give up, I heard the sounds
