Chapter 135: Shared enmity

An alarm went off in my head at the sight as they took their seats not so far from us. The attendant came and took their order, and the man gave his order, and she did the same.

Yes, I had reasons to be wary of her. She awakened something in me the last time we met, and my research into her only proved my point even more, but Marcel was happy with her, happier than he had been in a while, which left me torn.

I reached out to Marcel, as discussed with Oliver, and I wanted to share what I found out about Kim. He also had news he wanted to share, and it was about his proposal to Kim. He had proposed to her the day after dinner, insisting there was no better time. When he asked what I wanted to say, I couldn't speak, and instead, I congratulated him and ended the call. I didn't think there was anything I would say that would change his mind about Kim; he seemed too far gone.
