Kylie
Logan was sitting on his bed with a woman, who I am certain is Hanna, on top of him as they kissed passionately.
“N-no… No!” my whimpers turned into anger, yelling at both of them.
Hanna was startled by my sudden outburst, but before she could say a thing, I leaped towards her, grabbing her hair as I pulled her out of Logan’s lap.
She shrieked in pain and tried to fight back, making us both fall down. My back hit the floor, causing me pain, but I was too preoccupied with anger to even bother my pain.
“Let me go! Damn it!”
If it weren’t for Logan, I could have removed every strand of her hair from her scalp. Logan held her wrist, lifting her while I was left on the ground, hurt alongside my weeping wolf.
Going to see him hopeful that he'd ease all of my worries only to catch him red-handed with the woman he promised me not to worry about.
“Who the hell is this bitch, Logan?!”
I forced myself to stand up and was ready to hit her again when Logan pulled her, hiding her behind him.
“Is this also part of your plan, huh?” I scoffed.
“What plan are you talking about?! Are you crazy?! Cause you better go out! You have no idea who you’re messing with!” Hanna angrily yelled, but I ignored her, keeping my eyes focused on Logan.
I quickly wiped a set of tears that just escaped my eyes, shaking my head in disappointment.
“Since I’ve already fucked this up why don’t you tell her your plans, Logan? Tell her!” I was shaking in rage and betrayal.
Logan was staring at me so calmly that I didn’t know if he was taking any of this seriously. Or if he even takes me seriously at all. His calmness is driving me insane.
“What plan is she talking about?”
Hanna turned to face Logan, but keeping his keen eyes on me, Logan coolly responded, “Nothing, Hanna.”
I wanted to burst out laughing painfully, but I was taken aback by everything that took place in the blink of an eye.
“Then who the hell is this crazy bitch?! She just hurt me!”
“I don’t know her,” he spat, looking straight into my eyes.
Heavily shutting my eyes upon hearing his answers, more tears fell. So, out of the blue, he happened not to know me anymore. If he was thinking I would wail, crying on my knees at him to take his words back, then he was wrong.
I gulped the lump that was stuck in my throat before inhaling a deep breath. “I couldn’t ever accept this, Logan. You broke your promise so I will too.” I fixed myself before turning around to walk away.
Pure agony filled me. I can't remember how quickly I got back home. All that I could remember was crying to sleep to convince myself I would forget everything the next morning I woke up.
But I was wrong.
The exact pain was still imprinted on me like a fresh wound. Laying like a lifeless body on my mattress, the door was pushed open.
“Kylie, why aren’t you getting ready?” Mom’s worried voice was the first thing I heard, but I kept my eyes fixed on the white ceiling of my room.
“Is everything okay?” I felt the other edge of the mattress sink as she sat beside me.
“I won’t be attending the wedding, Mom.”
“What?” she sounds extremely surprised. “But why?”
Before hot tears dripped out of my eyes, I rolled up on the bed, burying my face on the pillow.
“What’s happening, Kylie? You can tell me.”
“N-n-nothing, Mom. I-I… I just don’t feel like it,” I lied, biting my lower lip as I forced my voice not to break.
“Well, you’re now the Pack’s Beta. You have your responsibilities now, my dear. You can’t be like this.”
Her words hit me like a brick.
Am I letting my emotions take over me?
Well, that’s not something a Beta would do. So, putting my stupid emotions aside, I got up and got ready for the wedding.
For the entire time on our way to where the civil wedding would take place, I felt nothing but numbness.
We arrived at the place and I ended up sitting beside Victor, the Gamma. Everyone was gathered, but Logan and Lucas were still nowhere to be found.
The little hope building inside me, wishing that they wouldn’t show up, crashed into pieces when the door slammed open, pouring out Logan first and followed by Lucas.
“I’m sorry that we’re late, Helena. Logan’s not participating at all,” I overheard Lucas murmuring to Hanna’s twin, who didn’t seem to care by any chance.
Averting my gaze to Logan, another crashing feeling down my stomach once again appeared.
“Is our mate really letting this happen?” my wolf questioned.
The ceremony started and keeping my eyes away from him was the only thing prohibiting my tears from falling.
Until the priest asked, “Logan Davis, do you take Hanna Jones to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
I heavily shut my eyes, placing my palm over my ears when no response came out from Logan. Lifting my head, I found him closely staring at me. Our eyes met, but his face was blank.
The priest cleared his throat and repeated the same statement, but Logan said nothing with his eyes still on me.
I don’t know what’s got into me that I stood up from my seat, getting everyone’s attention.
“Of course not! He doesn’t love her because I am his mate.” Saying those words out loud felt like an achievement to me.
Lucas let out a deep sigh while Logan remained still.
“This is all just part of their plan to save the Pack!” I added, making my way in front.
“And here you are again, bitch,” Hanna shrieked, standing up from her seat.
“Can’t you see who’s the bitch here? Logan’s just using you for money, wealth, or whatever it is our Pack needs.”
A smirk formed on my lips seeing how her face darkened, but before she burst out, her mother went and held her.
“Stop this nonsense, Kylie!” Logan stepped up, gripping my wrist tightly to the point of pain.
“You are ruining our wedding,” he continued, clenching his teeth in anger.
I tried to break free from his grip, but he instead held me tighter.
“You promised me, didn’t you?” His bloodshot eyes confirmed how much wrath he was holding.
Promise?
How absurd it is for him to bring up my promise when he just broke his last night.
“Logan, is what your Beta is saying true? You are using my daughters!” Hanna’s father exclaimed, making Logan appear panicked, which he never usually is.
“No. No, Alpha. This woman is making up stories… because— because she confessed her love for me and I rejected her.”
After saying that, Logan let go of my wrist and pushed me away before he attended to Hanna. I stumbled and reached the ground with tears pooling down my cheeks.
How could he do this to me?
The sound of people’s murmuring filled the room, and upon seeing their disgusted look at me, I felt more embarrassed.
My father, on the corner, shook his head, looking at me with pure anger as well. While my mother didn’t hesitate and rushed to my place.
I thought she was going to help me up, but my jaw dropped when she knelt in front of Logan with her head reaching the ground as she bent down.
“Please, my Alpha, forgive my daughter. She didn’t mean to do any of this. Please spare her—”
“Don’t drag yourself into this mess, Mila. She’s not even your daughter.”
I saw how my mother hastily shook her head as her sobs grew louder, “Please, Alpha. Don’t do this.”
Logan was about to open his mouth to say another thing when Lucas’ voice thundered, “That’s enough, Logan!” He squatted and helped my mother to get up.
Lucas’ eyes landed on me and I saw nothing, but pure pity before he immediately looked away.
What just happened? Does it really need to turn out like this? Like I am the villain of my own story.
I felt rough hands clutching my wrist as Logan’s men forced me to stand up.
“Get that fucking bitch out here!” Hanna screamed.
I was too tired to react, moreover to even resist. So I just let them drag me out. My remaining faith in our bond was torn as I watched Logan's eyes stare at me lifelessly while his men carelessly pushed me out.
The last thing I saw was my mother’s crying face as she shook her head as if telling me none of what Logan had said was true. Because what does he mean by saying I am not my mother's daughter?
KylieBut I wish I could believe my Mom's eyes, because why would Logan say something like that while my mother was on her knees apologizing for my stupid actions? I just knew he wouldn't choose to lie in the middle of a chaotic situation, but I am as well as lost in my thoughts.I was kept in one of the cells inside the dungeon at the Packhouse underground for so long that I had no idea what time it was. Curled up in the corner, my heart jumped in excitement upon hearing footsteps approaching.Given all Logan has done towards me, I’m still here getting excited about the idea of him visiting me inside a cell he locked me in.I crawled towards the door that was locked and waited until the footsteps halted. It felt like my entire world had crashed into seeing Lucas in front of me. “Lucas?” I called, disappointment audible in my tone.He forced a smile before crouching down to level my face.“Why are you here? Where’s Logan?”His eyes squinted. “Are you being serious right now? After wha
KylieMy wobbly knees gave up and the tears I was holding back the whole time fell down like a waterfall. My heart sank deeper into the abyss watching Logan take steps away from me, knowing so well that this would be the last time I was going to get a glimpse of him. The bitterness of our goodbye lingered on until the next thing I knew, I was dragged inside a black van before it drove away to the Packhouse.Reaching the end of our Pack’s border, one of the men opened the door. I didn’t wait for them to push me out, and I got out by myself. The second I walked out of the van, I thought they would immediately fly away to abandon me in the middle of the dark nowhere. But one of them pulled out a black duffle bag, handing it over to me.“Alpha Lucas asked us to give you this.”As soon as I accepted it, the van quickly moved away. Being left in the dark alone, the cold breeze blew, and yet all I could do was shed a tear in resentment.I opened the bag from Lucas, I couldn’t thank him anym
Kylie“Stop right there!” I screamed as one of them began walking forward to me.“What the hell do you want?!” I questioned, my heart thumping heavily, disallowing me to take breaths normally. But two of them hastily moved towards my place before I could hear him respond. They were so fast that I wasn’t able to move before their hands clasped both my wrists.“I want you,” he whispered, clinging his face to my neck.My face winced in disgust. I kicked him in his balls, forcing my wrist out of the two men’s grip. Just when I thought I could flee, his hand reached my hair, pulling me down.Using my claws, which I made sure to stick out, I scratched his face. I could feel my claw digging into his eyeballs before he screamed in agony. And soon afterward, his hands reached for my neck and seized me.I choked, feeling his claws replacing his nails as he delved deeper into my skin.My body squirmed in pain as I held oxygen. Death was nearly onto me, pushing me to break his wrist with my bare
KylieI could feel tears welling up in my eyes as I looked down at the handkerchief covered with my blood. Hearing that I ain’t good enough brings me back to when Logan decided to choose a helpful and wealthy Luna over me.Without waiting for my tears to fall down, I turned around and walked away. Jacob was calling me, and even so, I didn’t look back and instead continued to walk faster. Hot tears filled my cheeks that synced with every heavy step I took.“Kylie, please don’t be hopeless. I promise you that you’ll be my Pack member, won't I?”“I don’t fucking believe in promises anymore!” I screamed. “They were meant to be broken anyway.”Holding onto my wrist, Jacob pulled back, making me face him. “I mean to comply with my promises, Kylie.”“That won’t change the fact that your own Beta and Gamma didn’t want me. They don’t think I’ll fit into your pack! So you’ve got to accept it too!” I sobbed, sniffling as tears flooded down like what I’d kept the whole time poured out.“I am the
KylieAt exactly six in the evening, I began getting ready for a simple banquet dinner that Jacob held to officially introduce me as a Pack member. I was relieved to see that almost everything I needed was provided in my room, since the bag Lucas gave me which was left in the hotel was probably in the trash now.In the end, I just decided to wear the black halter dress and make my way to the Packhouse. The number of people wasn’t something I expected. I was hoping to see many people, but rather only a few attended because the number of members wasn’t actually large. Their Pack seemed to be very rigorous in accepting new Pack members.Jacob was seated on the corner of the huge rectangular table with his Beta, Allan on his right side, while I was on his left.“It’s a pleasant evening to be gathered with all of you. The main purpose of this dinner is to acknowledge our new Pack member, Kylie,” Jacob began, shutting everybody’s mouth as he rose from his seat. All of their eyes shifted to
LoganThe moment I felt my wolf whimpering in despair and longing for his mate, I knew she had already stepped out of the Pack’s border. And the only option that was left to me, was to accept what had happened and focus on what would matter.Convincing myself that I did the right thing is what I have been doing, since what I have done didn’t bring me as enough satisfaction as I was expecting.I acted as if I didn’t give a damn and ignored my wolf. Thinking all of its sorrow would eventually pass overnight, I decided to just isolate myself inside my room and instead shift my attention to something that I believe I should put first—my pack. However, on the way to my room, I was about to turn the knob on when a voice appeared behind me.“Does it feel or make any difference kicking Kylie out of the Pack?” Lucas’ tone was as if he was putting the blame on me, causing me to completely lose my patience.I looked back at him and found him blankly staring at me with his arms against his chest
KylieI knew keeping the truth about my real identity from Jacob was simply me being selfish. He has been so kind to me for me to lie to him in return. He has every right to know the truth. And being accepted for who I am and where I used to belong was for him to decide. If he is not willing to accept me anymore because I came from their rival enemy’s Pack, then so be it. Tomorrow would be the best time for it.As soon as I got out of the shower, I penned Jacob a text message, informing him I had something important to tell him. Without waiting for his reply, I snuck into bed to let my body take a rest after a tiring night. The next day, I didn’t have any idea what time it was when a knock woke me up.“Beta Allan?” I mumbled in confusion about seeing him behind the door.“I’m sorry for breaking in early in the morning. But Alpha Jacob sent me to inform you that you are needed at the Packhouse as soon as possible. They wanted to see you.”My brain was having a moment to understand what
KylieMy heavy lids opened up, allowing light to peek through. The first thing I saw was Jacob standing right beside the mattress with his eyes carefully staring at me as if he'd been there the entire time I was out.I faintly smiled, sitting down to assure him I was fine.“Don’t force yourself up. The doctor’s on the way,” Jacob muttered with his brows heavily shot up. Seeing his face scrunched, as if someone just annoyed him, I didn’t bother to open my lips.I leaned my heavy head by the headboard of the bed as I watched him take the space beside me. From the tone of his voice, down to his expression, I could tell he was irritated about something. His face was almost crumpled like a piece of paper with his squinted eyes fixed on the screen of his cell phone. And before I made up my mind to ask Jacob what was wrong, he began blabbering, “This fucking Pack doctor left without notice,” it was almost a whisper, but I was still able to hear it because of our only few inches distance.“I
KylieHaving no idea how long it lasted, I knew I wouldn’t pull it off if only Jacob didn’t.“Woah,” he mumbled, our foreheads and noses still touching as we both took our breath. Jacob was about to add something else when I quickly pulled myself away from him.I pursed my lips together before stepping away to put Freya back in her crib. Holding the edge of it, I gripped it tightly for support. The fact that I knew I wouldn’t pull off from his lips, I am already screwed. This shouldn’t be happening at all! None of this was right.Rubbing my cold palms against my face, the need to shout all my unsaid words sank in. I failed to hold myself back.“What’s wrong?” Jacob sounded so hesitant, touching my shoulder. Moving away from his touch with the fear I might end up losing control again, I mumbled, “Th-this was a mistake. I’m sorry, Jacob.”I crossed my arms across my chest as I made sure not to face him. I don't have the courage to do so.“What’s the mistake? Our ki–”“Everything!” I sh
KylieJacob has been with me throughout my entire pregnancy. From my weekly check-ups, he always ensures to make time to be with me. And everything that I needed was provided.I knew I was in a big debt and had no idea how to repay him. Jacob was nothing but a help, and I will always be grateful.Hearing her cry again brought my thoughts back to reality. I hastily stood up as if on cue, peeking through her white crib.“Bianca! She’s crying again!” I yelp for Bianca’s help. Her wailing grew louder, making me even more alarmed. I crouched down to get her out of the crib.“What do I do?”Bianca showed up in the trance of the room, panting from probably rushing upstairs.“Uh, maybe she’s hungry?”“But we just fed her.” I shrugged.“Or maybe it’s the diaper!” she exclaimed, as if she was certain it was what caused Freya to wail.Bianca confidently walked to my place. We were both inexperienced at caring for infants like Freya, but she didn’t hesitate to lend me a hand. She gently tilts Fre
LoganLucas already had his eyes on me before I even looked at him.I couldn’t seem to feel proud that Kylie managed to make Finn look like that. Instead, I was concerned that what Mila suspected was happening. The Lycan Pack is no good for her.Hoping Finn was wrong, I decided to hire a professional investigator this time. I wouldn’t be complacent until I made sure. But staring into a photo he had given me, I almost crumpled it, betrayal filling me. However, I let no hint of remorse show up on my face. Keeping my keen eyes on the image, I gulped, feeling the wrenching crashing on my chest. She’s indeed in the Lycan Pack; hence, that's not what tore me.Her dazzling smile with every picture she had with this fucking Jacob Williams felt like a dagger stabbed into my throbbing heart. She looks genuinely happy, not even comparable to how she looked at me after knowing we were mates on her eighteenth birthday. It seemed that she had forgotten about me that fast.“Uh, Alpha. I don’t know i
LoganKylie, being the Lycan King’s daughter, isn’t something that I can easily believe just because it came from her adoptive mother, Mila. Without any tangible proof, all of her words would remain nothing but a lie to me.“How come? How sure are you about that? And what makes you think we will immediately believe you after saying these things just now?”“Shut up, Logan,” Lucas warned through our mind link. “Have some sympathy towards Mila. She’s longing for her daughter.” His eyes were fixed, glaring at me.Ignoring those, as if I heard nothing, I kept my attention on Mila, who was still crying.“How can we be sure you’re not saying this just so we can find Kylie and bring her back here for your own benefit?” I continued to interrogate her.Desperate people will require desperate decisions and actions just to have whatever they think they need. And I myself was one of them. I was so desperate to save our pack that I decided to banish my mate.“I have no other motive to lie about thi
KylieThe next day, I woke up with my stomach rumbling with hunger. I decided to go downstairs to cook myself breakfast. I shouldn’t skip any meals, given that I have another life to feed inside me.The first thing I did was brew myself a cup of coffee before toasting two pieces from one loaf of bread. I was just waiting for it to finish when a knock outside my door surprised me.I wasn’t expecting any visitors today, so if it was not Bianca, then it was probably Jacob, but I highly doubt that. So, to clear my thoughts out, while holding my cup of coffee, I opened the door, but I was more than surprised to see it was Jacob!“I thought you were going to be busy the whole day, right? Because your father will be leaving today?” I questioned, my eyes squinting in confusion. He even reasoned through his text messages that he was not going to be able to see me for the whole day today as he had a lot of tasks and responsibilities on his hands right now.“Yes, that’s right,” Jacob shortly sai
KylieGuilt and regret might consume me, hence it won’t change the fact that those three men were already dead. For me, it’s not about accepting what has happened, but accepting that it was my mistake. Both Larry and Jacob had no idea that I was lying about that the whole time. But they were ready to kill and have blood on their hands for me.Isn’t that enough to at least let them know whom they are defending?“So you don’t trust me this whole time?” Jacob chuckled. Moreover, letting Jacob into my life won’t be a bad idea. After all, I knew almost everything about him, and he didn’t even know any piece of truth about me.“I joined your Pack without knowing anyone here. You have all the means to kill me; helpless and no one would even look for me. Don’t you think I trusted you enough to put my life at that risk?” I asked him back with a faint smile on my lips. “I would like to say that you joined my Pack because you were about to be dead that night.” The smile I had, formed wider be
KylieMoving my gaze away from the man's lifeless body, my heart began to pound loudly and fast. My mind was blank and all I could think of was how Larry did it so effortlessly, as if he was doing it on a daily basis.I had yet to move on from the first death when Larry grabbed a sword that was hanging at my side. He played with the blade with his fingers for a few moments, giving the other guy a scornful look. Thinking he would stab it into one of the two men left, I almost threw up when he used it to behead one of them instead.Blood splattered everywhere and it even reached across my face. I watched his head roll along the rough floor before Larry jeered, blocking it from moving further with his feet. With one wipe of my forehead, I was scared to death seeing hints of blood on my hands.Even how badly I wanted to just leave, my glued feet wouldn’t allow me to do so. My breathing instantly became rapid as I unconsciously placed both my hands on my abdomen with the thinking that it w
KylieIt was already late at night when Jacob and I made it to the packhouse. And even though I was fully aware that Larry wanted to see me to apologize, I still couldn’t help but to feel the doubt along with nervousness.Perhaps because I do not have the capacity to easily believe Larry will even think of regretting his harsh attitude towards me.Opening the car door for me, Jacob offered his hand to help me hop out of his car.“I’m sure he’s on the training grounds, training a few warriors,” Jacob began, leading the way. “He’s a very strict mentor,” he continued, chuckling. I followed his every trace, playing with my fingers, hoping it would ease my pounding chest. We made it to the training grounds and as soon as we entered, the heavy atmosphere filled with painful screams and groans welcomed us.Jacob was right, his father was having hand-to-hand combat with two other men. While some of them were seated on the bench, looking extremely exhausted.“How come you are still a fucking w
Kylie“Jacob had mentioned that you came here bleeding and being chased by rogues with the intention of sexually harassing you.” Larry continued, the concern audible in his stiff voice catching me off guard.“Y-yes. T-that’s right,” I stuttered, moving my eyes away from his.“That’s the reason why you’re pregnant,” he announced without any hint of hesitation. The same guilt and frustration I'd felt having this conversation with Jacob was once again present. Having everyone believing me when I was lying was the worst feeling I could have.Hiding my shaking hand below the table, I took a deep breath and tried to force myself to calm down. It looks like I would never get used to talking about this. Knowing damn well, I was lying to them.My eyes were pinned onto my trembling hands until I heard Larry’s utensils creating a loud sharp noise as he placed them down.“It’s alright, Kylie—”The heaviness of my pounding chest was getting too much and, without letting Larry finish his words, I h
