As we all filed out of the assembly hall I could see the views of the hallways which were exceptionally long especially since I was looking at them from the entrance of the assembly hall. Columns lined the edge of every hall and I could just imagine swinging on them like a stripper, literarily. The walls of everything I could see from my side were painted in the same cream color as the dining hall.

Students had already left the hall but Charlie wanted me to get a good look at everything and savor what was going to be my 'home' for the next one and a half years. It was not bad, it was better than my former school back at Lake George.

"You're kinda lucky, you know, you came in right when we had just a year left before graduation"

"Yeah? If I had my way I would not be in any school at all"

Charlie laughed shaking her head. Somewhere at the far end opposite us, a door banged and a man in white sleeves and grey trousers came out holding some books.

"Class is almost starting, Jessica, we should go now"

I had barely left the entrance of the hall when my eyes fell on the miracle leaning against a column to my left. Tall, lean, long wavy dark hair, interesting, intense blue eyes, and yes, the uniform which unfairly clung beautifully to him. Not surprisingly that of all the people in the hall I noticed HIM. Eye candy. Diabetes for the eyes. I guess you could say I stood there foolishly like a deer in headlights.

I almost couldn't take my eyes off him.

Then he winked. And I stumbled into Charlie's back.

I hadn't even realized I was walking.

"What the fuck?! " Charlie cursed swinging around to hold me steady as I stumbled on my own feet. "What the fuck is wrong with you? What exactly is with you and my back?"

I'm not the type to get embarrassed quickly but like I said I really must be getting the hang of this good girl thing because before I knew it my cheeks were hot and I didn't have to look into a mirror to know the length of my cheeks to my neck was as red as ketchup on well-fried chips. The last time that happened to me was with Mark and I wasn't the guilty one.

"Get a grip on yourself, sweetie, if you're gonna be stumbling every single time then you better get a new friend and kiss my room goodbye ."

Adjusting her bag, Charlie looked around at the students still hanging around in the hall "We gotta go for classes right now, I can't see any of our classmates here ." And as if on cue an electric bell went off and I joined Charlie as she wiggled her way through the crowd taking a moment to throw a glance at the eye candy who had winked at me. He was still there standing cocky-sure with one shoulder resting against the solid wall of the column. Ah yes, I know the type.

"We have English first," Charlie announced. We reached the end of the hall and began to climb up some stairs with a few students, some of whom whispered "hi" and "welcome" to me.

Something about the way the students could shift from rowdy, noisy to cultured and well-mannered was almost comical. It was something like a switch that someone turned on and off. Charlie was different though, she was real and definitely not too big on impressions. Even now she ignored most of the students we walked with and once we reached the first floor she turned left and opened the third door. The classroom had five rows of seats and on four lines and at the back were lines of lockers facing each other.

Charlie gestured for me to come with her and walked to the back of the class to drop her bag in one of the lockers. I searched the numbers lockers and found the one with the same number I had on my keys. I opened it and dropped my bag in picking out the Edwin customized hardcover note to use for my English class. Charlie claimed two seats for the both of us and plopped down on the one closest to the window while I took the one behind her. Some of the students who had been in class when we walked in waved at us and a few even said words of welcome.

On one side of the classroom staring daggers at me were the three bitches; brunettes and redhead.

I stared right back until a second bell rang and the class began to fill with students and right behind them was a middle-aged man with thinning brown hair and wire-rimmed glasses on his nose. Zoe was right behind him carrying some books.

"Morning Mr. Benson," voices chorused.

Mr. Benson spared a nod and with a grim set of his lips collected the books Zoe held and set them on the teacher's desk.

"It's a good thing that many of you will inherit your parents' business empires but I'm afraid to say that if you cannot manage an A on a test assignment you may need help," Mr. Benson surveyed the class with a stern look, one that turned the dismay when he realized his speech was wasted on students who weren't even bothered about what he had to say. While only about 2% of the class listened to him the others did stuff that ranged from doodling to talking and laughing to randomly just searching their school bags for whatever.

As Mr. Benson sighed I could almost hear him say "I hate my job" under his breathe. Poor old man.

He began to call out names and handed English workbooks to their owners. Can't blame the old man for hating his job when students won't even put in the effort to ace a simple test-assignment.

As he passed out the workbooks Mr. Benson's eyes fell on me.

"The new student. Hello, would you like to come forward and introduce yourself to the class please?"

If that was a question I was supposed to answer; no, but being a rhetoric question that it was I stood from my chair and muttered a "fuck" under my breath. I had known this was going to happen but I had hoped for a miracle I should have known was not going to come.

"Morning, my name is Jessica Underwood," I said and sat back down on my seat.

"Oh, no no come up here and introduce yourself let the whole class get to know you"

Great now I'm sweating. I stood up and walked towards the front of the class and if my embarrassment wasn't enough I felt wetness on my leg. And I'm sweating on my bum too.

I faced the class and my eyes immediately fell on Charlie. She had the strangest look on her face. Her brow was furrowed and her mouth was tight. I drew my eyes away from her and faced the class that had suddenly gone silent, wide-eyed and watching.

"My name is Jessica Underwood," I said through a dry throat. Why was everyone staring?

"From where my dear?"

"Lake George"

"Jessica Underwood from Lake George welcome to Edwin and Co, we are pleased to have you," Mr. Benson looked at the class "are we not?"

"We are!"

"We sure are," came a loud reply from the left line, third row.

"You can go back to your seat now"

I walked back to my seat thankful for the break as I  passed Charlie she mouthed something to me.

"What?" I mouthed back.

She mouthed something again incoherently. "Just speak Charlie." I got to my seat still trying to figure out what the movement of Charlie's mouth meant.

"Miss Underwood you have introduced yourself already please take your seat quietly."

I slid in between the seat and sat down. I poked Charlie with my pen "Charlie what were you saying?"

"After the class," she whispered over her shoulder.

The bell rang for a break and Mr. Benson picked his books and left the class.

I tapped Charlie on the shoulder "What was it you were saying?"

Before she could respond a blonde girl walked up to me "Jessica? The principal needs you in her office"

"What for?"

She shrugged "New student stuff"

I started to stand up when Charlie held my shoulder in a strong grip "Don't even think about it. Wait here let me get my sweater"

"Charlie," the blonde girl said with an arrogant raise of her brow and an edge in her voice "The principal needs to see her now"

I stood up immediately "I'll be right back"

"Jess-"

But it was too late. The roar of laughter was almost deafening and I knew immediately that something was wrong.

"Oh my gosh! What the fuck?!"

"Oh look, Lola, I-I think my uterus betrayed me"

"Oh no Mother nature punched me HARD today"

I realized it was the curly-haired who had spoken first and as far as acting dramatic goes she was the worst. She was clutching her belly pretending to double over and laughing so hard.

"What's so funny?" I demanded.

That got more laughter and more embarrassment for me.

"Oh stop, Dahlia the bitch just demanded to know why we are laughing. You don't want to be reported to the authorities"

So that's what this was about. But why the insult to mother nature?

"Y-you've got something on y-your--," a boy sitting at the front trying not to get seen said quietly. He was pointing at my skirt and I looked but there was nothing there and then and turned to check the back... and then I saw it. Blood red covered my entire backside, which explained the wetness but not the source until I put two and two together. I marched up to the three bitches and snarled, "You know if this was real  blood I would like to let you know that I came screaming into this world with blood all over me and I'm not afraid to leave like that!"

"Ooo I'm frightened," the one called Lola, short dark-haired said "Got any more?"

"And this is not even real. You could have found something more convincing," and because I was looking for comebacks and running out of them in my head I rubbed my hand against the back of my skirt and got some of the - whatever- it was on it and as if my embarrassment was not enough my actions made them all laugh harder "Try harder," I said in a moment of vainglory.

The three idiots did nothing but slap hands with four guys who were sitting behind them. Fours guys and one of them was the one I had seen outside the assembly hall "Nice one Tyler"

The one, the redhead, whose name was Heather snared at me "Thanks for giving us some reason to laugh. Hope you love it here with us, Aunt Flo"

And because I was out of my elements, I mean who wouldn't be? The first official day of school and you get this? I barked at them.

At this point, I felt someone pull on my arm. It was Charlie.

"That's enough let's go"

I tried to resist but she pulled harder until I was moving against my wish.

"That's right, Charlie, take your new dog out of here"

Charlie pulled me out of the class and into the toilet. Once she locked the door she started laughing so hard she started choking on her breath.

"You think this is funny?"

"You're such an idiot!" Charlie choked out "Why did you bark at them?"

I tried not to laugh as I turned on the tap to wipe off the stuff from my skirt.

"Those were great comebacks just the wrong place for them"

"You think I don't know that? That bark did me in"

Charlie came over to help me with my skirt. There was a knock on the door. Charlie opened it and the idiot called Tyler, handsome and flawless walked past her and handed me a piece of paper with a mocking wink and left the toilet.

"You're dead and I've just risked my reputation for you."

I opened the paper.

         From the Bad Boys Club,

Our own way of saying welcome. Thanks for giving us a reason to be active again.

             -BBC

I laughed. BBC? That was the best they could come up with?

Dear Diddy,

I need a girlfriend but no one is forthcoming. I keep trying to ask girls out but they either put me in the friend or brother zone and date my friends or they don't even bother making friends with me. What should I do?

- Single and searching.

Dear single and searching,

I just want to know if your parents paid your fees so you can get a girlfriend. Good, most people date now but dating is not for everyone. Some are lucky, some are not and I gotta you if all the girls you're interested in are not interested in you too then you're among the unlucky ones.

I just want you to be patient and stop trying so hard. Sometimes I believe in what they say "There's someone for everyone ĺ but sometimes I don't. But if you do believe in it then keep waiting.

Yours,

Diddy.

And for the first time, I became the prey. The hunter became the hunted and trust me this deer or rat or whatever animal I am in the eyes of the BBC (scoff) sucks for sure. I walked with my eyes constantly looking over my shoulders. I mean I needed to check just in case someone had the genius idea to spray some tomato juice or whatever on my skirt again. The good part though was the laundry services Charlie said the school used would be able to get the stain off. I decided to camp in the library during the break where not many students would be. From the bookshelves I found some novels to read and took them to a seat to read, four seats were arranged around square tables at almost every side of the room. I wasn't much interested in the books as I was in maintaining a low cover first so I could get my bearings again and plan the sweetest revenge. "Hey." The voice came from directly above me. I looked up at the person lowering himself on the seat opposite me.

“Okay, Jessica, what did you do to make Annabel so much on your case?” I shrugged. It was just after reading hours and I was too exhausted to even rant about the vampire-cold-blooded head girl, Annabel Reed. I dumped my bag on my bed and plopped on my bed. “If I didn’t know better I would say she had the hots for you?” Charlie said. She pulled the chair from her reading table and dropped her bag on it before sitting on her bed. “What do you mean?” “Rumor has it that she and Martin Sanchez are banging. Don’t know how true that is since they never act like they do. Besides the rumor was passed by the juniors who don’t even live in the senior quarters so how do they know?” I wrinkled my nose. Annabel and Martin? Nah, not likely. They were like two opposite poles. “I won’t wish her on Martin. I bet her kitty is as cold as she is. And no one likes cold kitty.” Charlie sat up with a mock expression of anger on her face. “Excuse me, I do love

My third period of the next two days was chemistry. Half of the second-year seniors moved towards the library. Charlie walked briskly beside me. I must be honest, I envy Charlie a lot. From what I’ve seen here in Edwin and Co the student system was divided into two, the popular students and the unpopular ones (these were prey to the popular ones). But Charlie, she was in a world of her own neither popular nor unpopular, she didn’t care what category she was anyway, she was herself without a care in the world for anything. She walked too fast for a short girl of 5’4. The lab was at the end of the hall and opposite it was what used to be the former lab although now it was used as a store of some sort. According to some rumors by the students in the hostel, it also served as a rendezvous for smooching and making out. Outside the lab was Ms. Elena the chemistry teacher and Mr. Denver the lab technician. “Two to each station, make sure your apparatus is complete,” Ms. Ele

I growled my frustration under my breath. I was sitting at my reading table with my chemistry report note in front of me, the sheets staring blankly at me with my pen tapping at the edge of my desk. It was the second day since our practical class and I still did not have a headway at understanding the question Christian and I were supposed to answer. The due date for the report wasn’t until tomorrow. I read the questions over and over. Find the concentration of your base with respects to moles and grams. How was I supposed to do that? Beside me, Charlie was sleeping. Somehow yesterday she had convinced Heather to solve their questions so she was done with her own report while I mulled over mine. She tossed on the bed and shot me an evil look. “If you don’t stop tapping that pen I swear I’ll grab it and break it in half,” she growled sleepily. “Sorry,” I murmured and sighed. “But Charlie can you not help me out here?” She tossed again and came to a half-sitting position. “I already

The road leading to the seniors’ quarters was lined with trees and streetlights and the road was tarred. Mr. Edwin definitely put a lot of work into making the life of the final-year students a memorable one. There were flowers and even a drive that held a few cars and after the drive was a red gate. There were no guards but there was a buzzer on the wall which I pressed. A few seconds later I heard a click and a small part of the gate was thrown open, the sound of loud music nearly deafened me. “Yeah?” It was the sports prefect Johanna. She cocked a brow and from the dull look in her eyes, I could tell she was drunk. She swayed from side to side. “I need to see Annabel Reed.” She staggered and stepped back. “Sure, come on in.” As I stepped through the gates I was shocked at what I saw. The first thing that caught my attention was the large swimming pool that took up the entire front yard, it was lined with black tiles which were wet. There were some seniors in the pool splashing

“You didn’t say Heather was in charge of the cheerleading team,” I threw a death look Charlie’s way. She had the good sense to look guilty for omitting that one piece of information. “I knew if I told you you wouldn’t want to join again.” I rolled my eyes at her but followed her down the bleachers to the race tracks where Heather, Dahlia, and Lola stood with the rest of the cheerleaders. Heather was holding a clipboard and was writing something on it with a marker while Dahlia and Lola were speaking to some of the cheerleaders. Heather looked up from the board and started to speak when she saw Charlie and me. She narrowed her eyes at Charlie and huffed. “Forge, I thought I told you never to show your face here again? First, you’re short, and second, you peep under our skirts.” She turned to the group of cheerleaders who were now looking our way. “Watch out guys it’s the Skirt Peeper again, be sure to hold your skirts with both hands while doing a flip.” That was an insult to Charli

Before school ended for the day I found myself registering for the Taekwondo and Basketball team. I didn’t want to try out for the cheerleading team anymore if Heather and her mean attitude and side chicks were going to be there. Why bother? Charlie was on the team though but I figured she would survive without me. The last thing I want is to deal with Heather right now, I really do not have the strength for that. In fact, I was encumbered with more important things like the enigma that was Christian and why I was finding myself pulled towards him. He was such a difficult subject for me to understand. He was cute, dark, and brooding, a member of the BBC but still somehow brilliant. From what I was able to glimpse when I submitted our reports at Ms. Elena’s office it was obvious Christian was the smartest of the three boys. Tyler with all his good looks and money was kind of an average student but the surprising thing is Tyler has a record for being top of the class with Christian just

Hi there, So this is the end of Bad Boys Club. Thank you so much for supporting this book. I actually started this book a long time ago and it has taken two years to finally finish it. Along the way of writing , however, my creative juices kept flowing but I didn't want to make this book too long the I realized that I could do a sequel to this book by focusing on the characters lives after graduation from Edwin and Co. And if you noticed they are a lot of openings for that, for example, Christian's live story and Tyler's full story along with his dad's connection to Heather and Christian. Also, I will be focusing on Tyler, Heather and Charlie's relationship. So the sequel will focus on their lives years after graduation. I may not be able to start the sequel this year since I have a lot of other books I'm working on but in the near future I will be releasing so stay tuned. Anyways, thanks a l

The junior class 3 outdid themselves with the creative decorations they put up in the dining hall. The light bulbs they put up displayed a variety of colors all over the dining floor. The tables and chairs had been moved aside to allow for open dancing space. Streamers and balloons were hanging from window corners and even from some of the ceiling fans. At one side of the dining was a bar that was set up using the excess drinks rolled out by the outgoing senior class 3 and Jake Newman and some other guy I didn’t recognize served drinks to people. There was also a buffet with a variety of goodies and some of the first and second-year juniors occupied this table as they helped themselves to the food spread out. At the entrance of the dining was a huge banner that read “Happy Graduation!!!” Charlie and I scanned the hall. Charlie wore form-fitting slacks with an open-neck long-sleeved shirt and low heels. She and Tyler came up with the idea to dress the exact same way for whatever reaso

The majority of the students weren’t even listening to his speech but the parents were because that’s what you do when you grow up, get married, and have kids, you listen to speeches because they become interesting to you in your old age. After praising Mr. Maximilian to the skies he invited the graduating students to the podium for the presentation of their certificates. Looking at them walk orderly and with an aura of maturity around them, it was hard to tell that these year 3 seniors were the same who once threw parties and staggered drunkenly behind the close

“I can’t believe we need a graduation assembly before the party.” Charlie and I were at the hostel laundry pressing our uniforms with hot irons, the pleats on my skirt were razor-sharp as requested by Miss Diana. She came to the hostel two nights after the conclusion of exams to announce the date for the graduation, not that we didn’t know already but her services as matron to the girls required her to give us the information we already knew about. The graduation ceremony for Edwin and Co. is done in two phases. First, the announcement of the achievements of the graduating students, the announcement of the new perfects, the head boy and girl speech, the principal’s speech and Mr. Edwin’s speech, followed by the presentation of certificates to the graduates. For this, all parents were invited but the after-party was strictly for the students. “We never had a graduation assembly at Lake George. I can barely even remember what graduation was like back then but I do remember the booze, t

“Time up,” Ms. Elena announced. “Leave your papers and apparatus on the table and move out. This is your final exam in senior year 2, what an amazing year it has been to teach you all.” Her words were heavy with sarcasm. Students stood up and left the lab one after the other. As soon as they left a cheerful noise erupted as the students of senior class 2 celebrated the completion of exams but Christian and I sat in silence. “Ward, Underwood collect the papers on each slab and bring them to me. When you’re done with that clean up the lab.” Without waiting a second Christian stood up and started picking the exam papers on one side and I did the same on the other side. In a few minutes, we finished with that and submitted the papers to Ms. Elena’s office. “Good,” she said eyeing Christian and me with curiosity. “Now you can clean up the lab until you both work off that tension between you.” Great, she noticed. “Yes ma’am.” We went out and began to rinse the conical flasks, test tube

Over the next week and the week after I had no chance to take Heather’s advice because of my exams. I studied hard with Charlie and let me tell you Charlie is a blessing when she explains difficult topics. Everyone should be blessed with a friend like Charlie Fudge who supports, loves, and looks out for her friends. I had expected her to prod me on what Heather and I talked about but she didn’t ask any questions, we simply moved on from it and went back to being friends and roommates but I know she hopes Heather and I come to an understanding soon. My new friendship with Tyler was also blossoming at a rather rapid pace. When he is not against you Tyler was quite the charmer. He is funny and his carefree lifestyle was just what I needed to deal with the pressure of exams and the knowledge that I would have to confront Christian one day. While he never left Christian’s side he did show his friendliness by shouting my name across the dining hall and playfully slapping my shoulder when we

I guess they kind of balance each other, one is reasonable the other is wild and carefree. The perfect fit. “Do you know that the first time I met Christian, which was at the very beginning of our last junior year, he was studying,” she laughed again. “He’s too serious sometimes.” I tried to imagine a younger Christian bent over his book reading. It’s quite like him. Everything about him is contradictory; the intelligent bad boy who really doesn’t do any bad stuff. What secrets does he keep? Why does he have a wall built around himself? “Do you know how Tyler and Christian became friends?” I asked, mildly curious. “Not much, only that they knew each other years befo

Immediately they arrived the maid ushered Rachel into the study where Maximilian was waiting for her. Heather was taken to a separate room where a TV was turned on and a show was running. She wasn’t as interested in the show as she was in the ornaments that adorned the room.
