LEON'S POV

I could tell that I was inside of a closet. Tricia must have been hiding in here I thought to myself. I watched as a pair of sleek black dress shoes moved heavily towards the girl.

SMACK! His palm met her cheek forcefully.

Her head whipped to the side in my direction only for a moment before her body went limp and fell to the ground with a force stronger than gravity itself. The girls' eyes looked into mine briefly.

Lucy's eyes.

I wanted to rush out to her and help her, but I was rooted in my spot. My body wasn't my own, it was as if I could only move and look in the directions that Tricia did in this memory. My eyes flickered up through the slats toward the man, who was none other than Alpha Kragen.

He stood hovering over her body emitting his Alpha aura on her which was leaving her pinned to the hardwood floor beneath her. She couldn’t be more than 10 years old. I could see bruises on her legs and arms. Some old and some new.

Her cheek was visibly red and appeared to be welting around the sides of his handprint.

“If I ever hear about you going outside or speaking to anyone without my permission, you’ll wish you were dead as much as I do,” Kragen said.

The words were spoken quietly but deeply. There was no question that this man spoke with hatred and resentment toward Lucy.

Now I was left with more questions. Why did he hate her so much? Were her crimes leaving a room he didn’t say she could leave?

The room we were originally in, Seth's office, snapped back into my vision causing my stomach to flip. Nausea rolled through my bond coming from Liam, and I had to quickly pull up the barrier of our bond before I vomited everywhere.

He was pale in the face, but his eyes were focused on Tricia. “Explain” was all he said to her.

"I'm a Fae, yes, but I'm what some humans would refer to as an Oracle," Tricia said proudly.

I do not doubt that she thought this explanation made a difference to us. I thought Oracles were a myth made up by humans and I certainly had no idea that they were Fae.

I assumed that this was relevant to her being able to share memories with us and that's why she told us. The strange thing about the entire situation was that I was more concerned about her explaining her memory than what she was.

My heart was feeling heavier the longer I knew Lucy was in the dungeon. And even more so, the longer I knew she may end up back with Alpha Kragen.

I opened up my link to my Dad. Dad, we need to protect Lucy. Something is off about Alpha Kragen. I closed the link and waited.

"What does that even mean?" Liam persisted in better understanding what Tricia was saying. I knew I should care more but my focus was entirely in a different place.

"I have powers and strength that most Fae do not, such as, memory sharing" she explained plainly. Her expression looked bored and she was now staring at me.

"Why are you telling us all of this? Why are you here?" Liam was suddenly asking the right questions. This was normally something I would be doing. My Goddess, I must be losing my mind.

"He does make a good point Tricia, why are you here?" I said backing up my brother's questioning.

Liam gave me a curt smile and nod and looked back at Tricia. At this point, I had to sit and I figured we might be here for a while longer. I moved to the back of the room sitting on the couch. Tricia made herself comfortable in Seth's chair and Liam sat down on the couch opposite from me. We were now both looking at her for an answer.

She sighed heavily, her hands slapping together before she laced her fingers together. She was cute, was this why I trusted her? Because I was having some stupid crush? Was the pressure of finding my mate driving me into some trust-lusting maniac?

She cleared her throat which brought my gaze back to her and out of my insane thoughts.  "I can't say too much. I know you have a lot of questions but the things that I know can't exactly be shared so easily. I'm here because my mom sent me to help Lucy and the both of you. I know very little details and my gifts have only shown me a few things. If I were to tell you what -" Liam cut her off at this moment.

"What do you mean shown you things?" I was envious of how in tune he was with his train of thought and reading between the lines. I was a mess. I needed to get it together.

Tricia glared at him before proceeding. "It's rude to interrupt. As I was saying, if I were to tell you what I know from my visions it could jeopardize the future negatively. My mom knows much more than I do as she was closer to the late Luna and her visions and abilities are much stronger than mine. Many of my orders come from her directly. I need you both to trust me" she said sternly, folding her arms together.

I felt the nudge from my Dad at that moment. Don't worry son, I have it handled. I felt the link close before I could respond.

I looked over at my brother before looking at Tricia. Liam still looked apprehensive but I didn't even care at this point. "So what now?" I asked. Liam sighed at my response but I opened up our bond again. Feelings of trust and support flooded through my bond with him. I sent him back feelings of gratitude and loyalty.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that," I said honestly."So you are Alpha Kragen's daughter?" Seth asked. "Yes," I said without hesitation, but my stomach churned at the honesty I was speaking."Seth, I will speak truthfully, anything you ask me, but I need you to promise that you won't tell OUR Alpha any of this.
