2.4 Sleeping In (2)

Mick POV

I woke up starving like I had never been hungry before. My stomach growling literally woke me from a dead sleep.

“What the hell,” I muttered, rubbing my eyes and sitting up in bed right after my stomach rolled thunderously again.

“You’re a wolf now. Wolves need more calories since you’re eating for two,” Rome said, still rolled in a ball in my head, exhausted from his exertion last night. It was so weird how I could now not just hear him in my head, but see him when I focused on my mind. It was more vivid than visual thoughts, like a living dream, but more concrete.

“You make it sound like I’m pregnant.”

Rome grumbled. “Don’t talk about pregnancy right now. Not after last night.”

I looked over at Chloe, still sleeping soundly. I carefully tucked the blanket up to her shoulders before sliding out of bed. If my stomach growled any louder, it would wake her, and she looked too peaceful to wake up.
