Charles' POV

On our way to the Luna enterprises company, I asked Marcus about the CEO of the company and surprisingly, there was no information about her even in the media, except that she was a female.

As we pulled up to the Company, I couldn't help but be impressed by the elegant facade. The building's sleek, modern design exudes sophistication, with its gleaming glass and steel exterior reflecting the bright Texas sun. The company's logo, a stylized wolf head. , was emblazoned on the side of the building in bold.

We headed in and went straight to the receptionist who made a call, and asked us to wait

Within a minute, a tall, broad-chested man with piercing blue eyes and a tight jaw approached us. I sniffed and caught his scent - he was also a werewolf!

"Welcome, gentlemen," he said, his voice firm but friendly. "I'm Kyle, the CEO's personal assistant. The CEO is waiting for you inside."

We shook hands with Kyle and followed him through the sleek, modern lobby. The scent of werewolves hung heavy in the air - the CEO was surely an alpha queen of a pack.

Finally, we reached the CEO's office, and Kyle opened the door for us to enter.

We stepped in and caught sight of the CEO standing behind her desk. She was a woman with piercing green eyes and long, curly brown hair, the ray of the sun shone on her v- shape face, and her smitten lips.

As she noticed our arrival, she raised her head. "Welco..." Her words hung on the pregnant silence.

As our eyes met, my expression contorted into a horror-stricken mask. My eyes widened, my eyebrows shot up, and my mouth hung open in a silent scream. I felt like I had been punched in the gut, and all the air had been sucked out of my lungs. I blinked, Maybe I was wrong. But no, it was her!.

"Kate," I uttered, my voice barely audible.

She just smiled and gave me her hands, "Welcome here, nice meeting you, I'm Kate, the CEO of the Luna enterprises!".

I stammered, not knowing what to say as I shook it "uhm, I'm … Charles…I…".

She gestured for me to sit and I gently did, she acted so natural like nothing happened. Has she lost her memory!. That was the only explanation.

"Okay, we will talk about the business you are here for… you are interested in partnering with us, and that can only happen if you give us access to the acumen!".

I raised up my head, each pack has an exclusive power, that's meant for them only, why in hell Kate was asking for access.

"Okay… we really need the partnership! But there is nothing that can let us give another person access to the acumen!, It is exclusively for us, the moonstone pack", I said, maintaining my composure.

"Well, if you are really interested in this partnership, you will have to give access to the acumen, other than that, I am sorry we can't work", she simply said.

I could see smirk playing at the end corner of her lips, Kate was deliberately playing on us.

Anyway, I can't give up the acumen, "I think we can't work with you then".

"Okay, bye.. thanks for considering us", she said and stood up to indicate that the conversation was over . We stood up also.

She pointed to the door, "Thanks for showing your interest, you can leave".

I nodded and walked out of the office, I let out a breath I didn't even know I held.

"Are you… okay", Marcus inquired.

"How can I be okay?that is kate?!", I sneered at him.

"I know, but what will you do?, She is doing very pretty well, you shouldn't be worried about her any more".

Seeing her doing well made me worry more, how was that possible, how did she manage to pull all this.

"I must hear from her", I said and swiftly turned around.

"Alpha", Marcus called, I brushed it off and stormed into the office slamming my hand on the desk in front of her. She gazed up and locked eyes with me, she didn't flinch a bit!.

"Kate, let's talk", I said, and my wolf also growled alongside me.

Kyle immediately interfered as he held me by my shoulder, "what do you think you are doing!".

My claws slid forward, ready for a fight. I couldn't just let Kate slip away today after all this year searching for her.

She signalled at Kyle to let me go.

"But___", he protested but she cut him.

"Let's go off him, and please excuse us", she said, calm and damn! She was very beautiful with that cold demeanour.

Kyle reluctantly walked out and said, "I will be at the door".

Once I heard the click of the lock, I turned sharply back to Kate, rushed toward her, and grabbed her by the neck.
