"You're two weeks pregnant Luna Selene."

I arched my brows, utmostly surprised when I heard the pack doctor break the news to me. I had no idea whether to be happy or sad, but I wanted to show my happiness.

A smile carved at the corners of my lips, and I rubbed the tears that brimmed the corners of my eyes clean because the news was worth it.

I had been waiting to hear this for three years after I got married to my husband, Alpha Leo. My husband, Leo and I had been married for three years, but I wasn't able to conceive. I had one most important duty, and that was to bear him an heir for the future of the pack, and every day, the gossips about my inability to bear a child became so toxic.

Last time, Leo silenced those rumors and gossips, but I knew that as a strong and famous Alpha, he needed an heir to carry on his legacy. The pack needed an heir to ensure his bloodline never ceases.

3 years ago, on my eighteenth birthday and the first day the moon goddess would present a wolf to me, I was working as a maid in the Blood Moon Pack, and that was where I saw Leo for the first time. At first glance, my wolf Lena immediately recognized him as our mate.

My parents were peasants, and they mostly worked in the Alpha's large farms so we could survive everyday while I worked in the mansion as a maid to further my education.

I thought that as an esteemed guest, Alpha Leo would never accept the mate bond, and I was equally ready for a rejection, but surprisingly, he accepted the mate bond and soon afterwards, our wedding became the talk of the entire pack and many more packs out there. I was so happy, especially because I could prove most people who looked down on me and my family wrong.

"Luna Selene are you alright?" I immediately jerked out of my thoughts when I felt a hand touch my shoulders.

"Oh, oh, yes doctor, I'm fine."

I rose to my feet and picked my bag. I had the calmest voice and a sweet smile that always melted people's hearts.

"Congratulations once again, luna."

"Thank you so much."

A few minutes later, I was out of the hospital. As I approached my car, I tucked my hand into my bag and brought out my phone. I tried to reach Leo, but after several trials, the calls couldn't connect. I went back home, and decided to prepare a nice dinner for Leo and when I was done, I sat on the couch tiredly waiting for his return.

Even after 3 hours, there was still no sign of Leo. I had tried to reach him again, but the call wasn't connecting, so the only thing I had to do was wait.

A few minutes later, I dozed off to sleep without realizing it because I was too tired.

I was awakened by the sound of the door and I jerked upright in fear. It was still dark, but I could feel Leo's presence. I called his name in fright, but there was no answer. In the darkness, instead of responding, he accused me of deceiving him and called me despicable. His voice hit me so hard like a rock, and my heart nearly sunk, "I want a divorce!!" He yelled at me, but his first words to me still left me in a confused stage as I had no idea what was really going on.

Staring at him with watery eyes that I was trying so hard to control, I begged to know what my offence was. I had always been an obedient Luna and most importantly, a supportive Luna to him. What had I really done?

I almost fell on my knees trying to control the situation right in front of me.

"What is going on, Leo, please talk to me. Say something! Say anything please!" I begged him.

Now, I was on my knees begging to be told what I had actually done wrong.

"You heard me Selene, I want a divorce and I want you gone from my life for good."

The tears that I had been trying so hard to hold back finally fell from my eyes. I didn't want to leave because over the years I had grown to love my husband with everything I had. I had no other choice. If the reason Leo was saying all these was because I couldn't conceive, then I needed to break the news to him now.

"I'm pregnant! We're having a baby together." I informed him with the hope that he could change his mind after hearing that I was pregnant, but his words shocked me even harder.

He backed me, and then said, "Get rid of the baby, I don't want someone like you bearing my child and heir to my pack.."

Those words came as a shock to me, and they made me think I was in a dream, a bad dream that I wanted to wake up from. Was this man standing right in front of me really my husband? Was this the same Leo I had met on my eighteenth birthday.

"Why? Why are you doing this to me? To our baby?"

He seemed even more angry when I called the baby's name for a second time. I couldn't believe his heartlessness, and it made me think he almost wasn't human at all.

With all coldness and inhumane nature in him, he declared, "I Alpha Leo Knight rejected you Selene Grace as my Luna, and my mate. I never want you to show your filthy face in my pack ever again."

All I could feel at that moment was pain.

Leo was my first, and I always prayed he would be my last.

I had never felt the pain of a mate bond being broken before, but it was brutal. The pain of our mate bond being broken was so intense and I could feel it shattering all of me inside.

I groaned in pain hoping Leo would even look at him, but even my pain wasn't enough to make him spare me a glance at least.

I called his name softly as I laid on the floor, deeply in pain and asking myself what would happen next.

I could hear his loud footsteps, and he could feel the slow beats of my heart against my chest. Heartlessly, he walked away, leaving me to drown in my own misery.

Broken, I shut my eyes and lost consciousness in agony.

Very early the next morning, I woke up feeling less pain from last night's incident, still unable to believe what had happened. I had no idea why Leo suddenly changed last night, and as he walked away, I could see a totally different man in him. The way he spoke to me last night made me feel like he had a deep hatred buried down there for me.I sighed deeply, and decided to think positively. We had a child to raise together now, and that was enough reason and encouragement I needed to resolve any misunderstandings between us and find out what I had done wrong.I rose to my feet and reached for my phone on the couch. Leo had blocked my line from calling him. Thinking thoroughly, I suddenly realized I had not even the slightest idea where he could be or where he had gone through. I was worried he could be in the hands of another woman, and only that would shatter me completely.Feeling so frustrated, I decided to call my best friend Zoey. She picked almost immediately after the first

I stood at my spot, transfixed at what I had just seen. I could tell she was just as surprised as I was seeing someone who looked just exactly like her and bore the same marks as her.I had always had to hide the mark on my shoulder because my parents made me believe it was an abomination, even though I was never told why I had such. I always thought I was the only one who had such a mark in the entire world, but today I was proved wrong. Again, I felt even more insulted and disgusted that Leo had cheated on me with a girl who looked like me.Zoey, clearly furious, walked up to the stage and snatched the microphone from the DJ's in order to get the attention she needed. "Zillion club doesn't support cheaters, you over there, how dare you kiss someone else's mate?"The entire venue immediately went silent, and murmurs from the crowds filled the air."Why is she here?", "Why do they look so much alike? Who's the real Selene here?"Hearing people murmur things like this, I realized that

Zoey was with me, and so she held my hands, nodding her head and telling me that I was going to do great.I took a deep breath in and out, then I began to walk into the hall room. As I got in, I met the ladies seated and waiting for my presence. A smile appeared on my face and then I walked towards them"Good day ladies." I greeted before taking my seat. "Doctor Lena, what a wonderful surprise it is to meet you." I chuckled a bit at their words and nodded my head. The room filled with strong and resilient and single mothers like me was a place I got to pour out my heart on what I had been through throughout the years after I was rejected. They were here to hear my story, the story of how I had managed to become this successful. Why couldn't he just stay out of my life, I was doing so well, I had my job, I had my kids and after all these years Leo just had to come in again.” I said as I ran my hands through my hair. “You can say no Lena, you're not obligated to help him or that pack, they all turned their backs on you.” Zoey told me, I appreciated Zoey and I wished I was more like her, she saw the world in black and white and that was it, but that wasn't me, I knew they were some grey areas and I was a doctor, I swore to do no harm, so if I ignore Leo's request and not help the pack and more people die when I could've helpe

—Alpha Leo's POV— I was walking around the pack, it looked so different, everywhere was so quiet. What a difference six months could make, usually tehte were kids outside, running around and getting into all sorts of trouble. Men and women milling about going about their day, all had a smile on their face. But ever since the sickness started, everyone keeps to themselves, they barely leave their houses unless it was necessary. The sickness hit the kids first, the healers at the pack didn't see it as anything at first, they thought it was just the flu and a case of fever but when the first child died and more kids were getting sick, we knew that it was serious. They did their best, I called in the best doctors but they couldn't even identify what the sickness was and more kids died and then it spread to the men and women. No one was safe, we don't know how it's spread or contacted because not everyone gets sick. Someone might come in contact with another sick person an

What else did she say?” Zeo asked. “Let me continue reading, I didn't get that far.” I tell him and he nods his head. Alpha Leo's POV. We lock the four other men in a room we found in the warehouse, turns out they're human and not wolves so we made sure to take away their guns. Lex is tied to a chair, with ropes and chains and we injected him with a heavy dose of wolfsbane so even when he wakes up, he'll be too weak to escape. “Are you ready to do this?” I asked Freya. “Yea, find out where the pages are it should be easy, I don't think I will dive that deep and even if I have to, it will be more painful for him than for me.” She says. She steps behind Lex and places both hands on his head, she closes her eyes and she starts chanting. “What do you think he was doing here?” I asked Zeo. “I have no idea, but whatever it was I have a strong feeling that it wasn't good.” He says. “What do you mean?” I asked him. “Well, this particular dock is known for being used for illegal activities, the cartel's and the mafia run their goods th

Alpha Leo's POV. I look at the map to see where he is. “That's down by the docks, there's nothing there but warehouses.” I tell Freya. “Well, that's where he is now, the spell doesn't work like a GPS, if he leaves there, we are going to have to do another location spell again. So we need to get there now.” She tells us. “Alright then, lets go.” I tell her. “Wait, wait, wait, just wait.” Lena says as she holds up her hands. “You're about to walk into a situation that you know nothing about. What if he's not alone, what if he has his men with him, there's only three of you.” She tells us and she has a point. “I know that Lena, but we don't have a choice, more than half of the pack is sick and the ones that aren't, they won't leave their homes. We have to do this by ourselves. We'll be fine, I mean only Freya can take care of all of them with a flick of her wrist.” I tell her. “That is true.” Freya tells her. “Ok, but

Alpha Leo's POV. Zeo texted that they were on their way back and that something was wrong with Freya but he didn't go into details. So I grabbed the map I needed and here I was, waiting for them at the front door. A few minutes later, I hear his truck pull up and I open the front door. Freya looks like she's seen a ghost as she leans on Zeo and he walks her into the house. I go to the kitchen and grab a bottle if water for her then I meet them back in the living room. “Here, drink this.” I tell her as I hand her the bottle. She opens it up and takes a few sips. “You feel better?” I ask her. “A little.” She says. I take a seat next to her. “What happened back there? Were you able to get the signature?” I asked her. “Yes, I was and that's the problem.” She says. “I don't understand, what do you mean?” I ask her. “The witch's signature that was left there is one I recognise, it's one that I'm very familiar with. It belongs to my aunt Dahlia.” She tells me

Freya's POV. The pack is so quiet but Lena and Leo were right, it is beautiful. “So no one comes outside because of the disease?” I ask Zeo as he drives. “Yea, we don't know exactly how the disease spreads and why some people are sick and some aren't. So everyone just stays in. Every week, a truck delivers groceries and also another truck comes in to pick up the trash. They're humans so there's no chance of them getting infected.” He tells me. “That's really sad.” I tell him as I look out my window. “Yes it is and it's also hard to look at, this pack was so full of life and for it to be like this now, it's hard to watch.” He tells me. “What about you, did you have any family that was infected?” I ask him. “No, I lost my parents at a young age, they had my sister and I late in life, so they lived a full life. My sister is married, her husband is an Alpha of a pack back in Jersey. So thankfully she wasn't here when it hit.”

Alpha Leo's POV. I left the dining room but I didn't leave the house, I went to the patio to tell the kids goodbye and when Zeo came over, I left and that's when I heard her, it's not like I was purposely listening in or anything like that. The house was quiet and voices carried, so I heard what she said, she loves me but she doesn't trust me. That might discourage some people but not me, I have a smile on my face and a spring in my step as I walk to my car. Here I thought that all feelings she had from me had been stripped away after I rejected her but I was wrong. She loves me now all I need to do is prove to her that she can trust me with her heart again. I get to the house and I park my car, the pack is so quiet that if not from the sounds coming from the birds you would think that it was a graveyard. I put off the lockdown mode and walk into the house. I packed breakfast in a Tupperware from Lena's house because I'm pretty sure I have nothing in my kitc

Alpha Leo's POV. I can tell that she's nervous around me after what I said last night, but I can't tell if the nerves are good or bad. I meant what I said, I am going to win her back and it starts today, anytime that isn't spent looking for Lex, I'm dedicating that time to her. “Well, I'm going to check in on Elijah and find out if he had turned up anything. Then we'll need to head back to the house to get that map for Freya, plus I need to feed Scarlett.” I tell them. “You really put her down in the dungeon?” Zeo asks. “Yes and I also put the house in lockdown, she's not going anywhere.” I tell him. “I'm also going to need to go to the site where the spell was cast.” Freya says. “Why? If it's for the sludge that was running underneath the grounds, I already have a sample back at my lab.” I tell her. “No, it's not that. Lena's POV. After Leo's declaration last night, he kisses me on my cheek and left the house. I didn't plan on saying anything back to him but even if I wanted to, I couldn't, his words shocked me that I couldn't even form any words if I tried. The truth of the matter is I'm tired of being angry, it takes up a whole lot of energy and if you ask me, I've forgiven him, I mean I was ready to be friends with him for the sake of the kids, but to get back together with him and have a relationship. I'm not sure that I can do that, I mean I still love him I won't deny that, the problem here is trust, do I trust him with my heart? And the answer to that question is no, I do not. I mean last time he shattered my heart so badly that it took me years to put back together and it was never really the same. So I might be able to track him using your blood.” She says. “And it will work?” I ask. “I'm not a hundred percent sure but it should.” She tells me. “What do you need?” I ask her. “I need a map and your blood, that's it.” She tells me. “Ok, I think there's a map back at the house and if there isn't one there, we'll get one.” I tell her. “So what exactly is the plan when you find him?” Zeo asks. “I'm still working that out, but first priority is finding those pages so the girls can make a cure.” I tell h

Alpha Leo's POV. “So, the day we got back from New Orleans, after Zeo and I left, the man I hired to trail Scarlett met us in the house, he found the evidence that I needed. Turns out she's been having an affair, but that wasn't the shocking news, what shocked us was the fact that the man in the video, the man Scarlett was sleeping with, Elijah couldn't find him, he wasn't on any database, he was a ghost. But he did have one distinct feature which was the birthmark that he had on his back, a birthmark that was the same as mine, in the same spot. A birthmark that is unique to my family line, it turns out that I have a brother.” I tell them and now all three of them look shocked. “Wait, wait a minute, so your wife is cheating on you with a brother that you knew nothing about, is that right?” Freya asks me. “That is correct.” I tell her. “This story is so good, I won't lie, but I'm confused.” Zoey tells me. “So was I, but everything will soon make sen
