Chapter Twenty Nine

Avan and I sat impatiently as we waited for our parents to start talking. We were both in our rooms when they called us down for family meeting which we hardly ever have. I felt uneasy as they stared at each other occasionally then back at us. My dad ran a hand through his hair as he pulled his bottom lip into his mouth and started chewing harshly. I fumbled with my fingers as my eagerness starts to take over.

"So, your mom and I will be taking a trip",he spoke up before swallowing harshly.

"But you can't! We need you here with us especially with what's going on", I yelled but instantly regretted it hearing how loud I was. They simply can't be serious. I needed them here.

"Your grandmother will be coming to stay with you for the two weeks we'll be gone. You guys basically know everything and besides Lina is mated, you both will be fine", my mom replied as she looked between me and Avan.
