Chapter Twenty-one

Plates dropping, kettle steaming, and on top of that, anxiety dissipating. I had always hoped that at some point it never came to this, but I knew the stress would kick in. Staring at the soup, I could only pray to the moon goddess that it was good.

It was late into the morning and I had woken up unusually late. I cursed upon seeing the time through a wristwatch I had been gifted by my mother. If Alpha Philips got to know about waking up late, I knew I would be in great trouble.

Three days coming, I have been subject to the ridicule of the pack, everyone tends to blame you for the little things that occur and I was no exception to this. The stress had kicked in and even my head continue to ache.

Quickly, I grabbed two plates and scooped the soups gently unto the plates, while turning off the heat emanating from the gas. It was seldomly quiet in the mansion, but on today's occasion, everyone had gone to see the school's event, which I ought to be part of.
