Chapter Eighty-two

Catherine’s POV

My heart was filled with a great deal of anxiety as the next day approached. I was unable to get rid of my concerns about what had happened the day before. My thoughts ached from the unsolved concerns of Philip's departure from the restaurant. I had questions and I needed answers now.

That morning, as I drove to work, I couldn't help but think back on what had happened. I felt empty and confused after the rich setting, sumptuous food, and promised meeting that never materialized.

I went directly to Philip's office when I got to the CT Wines building. I was adamant that I was going to confront him about what had happened yesterday. I made a determined effort to walk up to the impressive doors of his office.

However, the door simply swung open as soon as I approached his office and softly pushed it. The workplace was vacant. I blinked in shock and wondered whether Philip was just late. But there was a strange feeling. I looked across to Sarah, Philip's assistant, who was
